“About 5 miles outside of Bellingham my car started sounding like a jollapy. Instinctively I knew to go back up the road versus keep driving to Seattle. I drive to a highly rated auto my location and met Pat of Sterling Automotive. Wow! Luckily i stumbled unto an honest mechanic who was unwilling to just take my money, but instead recommended I spend the money getting a proper diagnosis before trying to fix things that weren’t actually the problem. Although they were booked till the following week, they managed to assess my car the same night and had it fixed within 2 days. Thanks Pat for building, not only instant rapport, but instant trust. Your colleague made sure to water my plants and even moved them indoors so that they didn’t get overheated. We joked that he had a greased thumb by day and a green thumb at night. “It may sound lame to compare Rod’s Auto Tech to a personal trainer for your car, but that’s how I think of it. My Mazda Miata’s unscheduled breakdown in a cold and rainy parking lot was a demanding situation for me, and Rod’s Auto Tech came to the rescue. For master technician Jeffrey, this may have seemed routine, but his attentive and immediate service made a horrible situation into a low-stress outcome. I’ll be back to Rod’s Auto Tech with both of my family Mazdas, even though I’ve always used traditional Mazda dealers as my only source of service. “This place has great service and people. I had asked them to check my brakes while doing an alignment. When I picked up the car and asked about the brakes, the service agent realized it hadn't been done. Since the bays were full he said it might be another hour before they could get it up on the rack again but would go check with the owner who came out immediately, apologized profusely, took my keys and drove my car into a side bay they don't usually use. He pulled another tech over and the 2 of them went over the entire brake system while I watched and said there was plenty of life left in the rotors and pads. A less reputable place might have taken the opportunity to try and sell me on the need to do a brake job (75k miles since the last pad replacement). Honesty, great reputable service. They will get the brake job when the time comes.”

“First, I have to say that I am a repeat customer and have usedUnlimited for my 2 vehicles over the past 4 years. Over the course of my time living in Bellingham, I have tried several repair shops, some acceptable & some have been lacking in customer service and technical support.I had some fairly complicated repairs with my '95 F-150 and once we were able to schedule the work, I was regularly in contact with the service Advisors on progress. Some complications arose and the techs had numerous elements to investigate & source parts etc. They were incredibly focused on getting it right and making sure the truck was sound & running like new.
