Clean and Clip Grooming
1006 7th St, AnacortesThis was my first time with Clean and Clip, I took both of my dogs in for a nail clipping. One dog is a corgi/lab mix, and if you know anything about corgis, they hate to have their feet touched. She and I were 86ed from a well-known pet facility because of the way she carries on.These folks were amazing with her. They were calm and had the job done in no time. The staff is wonderful and friendly, and their shop is clean. They just got a repeat customer with me.

Pet Care
Anacortes Animal Hospital
2504 Commercial Ave, AnacortesWorth the wait (first come first served). I honestly think this is one of the last "small town" ran businesses in town. They treat everyone like family, they aren't so pricey that you have to choose between bills and your pets care, and they listen when you have concerns. I'll continue to gonhere as long as Dr Anderson or Dr Jones are there- and after if it doesn't change too much.

Fidalgo Animal Medical Center
3303 Commercial Ave, AnacortesIt’s hard to pin down what is so good about Fidalgo Animal Medical Center. From each person getting down on the ground with Sidney because she has new people anxiety to calling and checking in after a traumatic experience, the people at Fidalgo Animal Medical Center did that and everything in between. Because of Fidalgo Animal Medical Center, I am able to tell Sidney, “I am happy you are here”. Sidney is happy to be here thanks to the actual love by Dr Ian Marshall and Dr Annie. True animal healthcare care and genuine compassion.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Cosmic Veggies (Drink Your Veggies)
615 Commercial Ave, AnacortesSuch a great little cafe! It was really busy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon but the staff hurried to get the steady line of drink and food orders out quickly. Everything here is made fresh and from scratch and still with how busy all was served quickly.
We had the chai tea latte, sourdough burger and breakfast biscuit and all of it was delicious. The best part is it all feels healthy so you don’t feel gross afterward.
This is our new favorite place in Anacortes! Save time to stop here on your way to the ferry!!

Sugar Mama Cafe
907 7th St, AnacortesYummy food & friendly service. The sausage stuffed mushroom appetizer lived up to its name, it was stuffed with cream cheese & big chunks of sausage. The grilled cheese is a sandwich & a half & each bite is nice & ooey gooey. The tomato jam was a nice balance against the cheesy richness. There's a good variety of sweets in the dessert case, but I was too full to try any of it.

Lopez Island Creamery
Factory, 9028 Molly Ln, AnacortesHaving recently visited the local ice cream factory, I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of their products. Each ice cream here feels like a nostalgic journey back to childhood when the flavors were truly rich and natural. Every scoop reflects the love and attention to detail, from the texture to the carefully selected ingredients.
The variety of flavors offered is impressive, each one unique in its own way. I was especially fond of the vanilla ice cream—it reminded me of those times when such treats were rare but left a lasting impression with their taste.
The atmosphere at the factory is also worth mentioning. Everything is set up in a way that makes visitors feel like they are part of the process. The staff is very friendly and eager to share the story behind each type of ice cream, adding a special value to the visit.
It feels like I’ve discovered a small oasis of childhood memories, a place where I want to return again and again. I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates genuine quality and wants to enjoy the flavors of their youth.

Dockside Dogs
1019 Q Ave #1, AnacortesPerfect little hotdog place! The owner here is super nice and friendly. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. We had the naked dog and the Thai peanut sauce hotdog. Both were very good!! And their clam chowder was one of the best I've had!
It was cold and rainy on the day we visited, so it was great to be able to eat inside the little connected shack, to get warmed up.

Brown Lantern
412 Commercial Ave, AnacortesThe Brown, as we locals (and semi-locals) like to call it, is an Anacortes stalwart. Craving a beer, a cocktail, a nice dinner, some good appies, and/or a juicy burger? They've got you covered. I've been coming to the Brown for, like, decades now. It's a great spot to meet up with friends, enjoy a cold one, and eat some yummy food. They even used to have a shuffleboard table, which they got rid of several years ago to make room for more tables. I still miss that shuffleboard to this day, and secretly hope that, someday, I'll walk into the Brown and there it will be. My favorite here is their corn 'n crab chowder, which is offered in a cup or a bowl. Trust me, you'll want to get the bowl. They also make a mean quesadilla, and a generous (and healthy) hummus plate if I'm feeling like lighter fare. Seriously, though, I've never had a bad meal here, and there is something for every mood. Service is quick and friendly, especially if you sit on the "bar" side (which is 21+). The restaurant side is slightly slower, but still not bad. I believe they also offer brunch here now, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Someday!

Frida's Gourmet Mexican Cuisine

Secret Cove
209 T Ave, AnacortesSecret Cove in Anacortes, WA, is a hidden gem that offers both amazing views, great food and friendly service. The scenic water view, with seals and porpoises swimming and playing, makes for a memorable experience. We started with the clam chowder, which was really good. I had the Captain Plate, featuring a deep-fried assortment of cod, prawns, oysters, calamari, and clams—so much food for the price! My wife loved the halibut tacos, and my sister enjoyed the halibut and chips. To top it all off, we had the Apple Cake for dessert, which was simply amazing. Great service and generous portions made it a fantastic meal!
Parking: Plenty of parking
Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the food and views.
