“My mom and I went to the Newport News location for the very first time. Although it was a holiday weekend and the store was very busy, everything was in order and easily accessible. Besides the free taste testing the customer service was top tier. Our cashier Lauren at store 0656 knew it was our first time and took such great care of us, with a SMILE. She made our experience wonderful, we look forward to more visits. Oh and they also have a great selection of food. We will be back. Thank you Lauren!”

“One of the few stores in the state with incomparable customer service, the kindness of the workers and the way they serve make you feel comfortable, you don't wait and the best of all is that you find everything you need. In my personal opinion I give it 5 stars for the way they serve you. If you need a shipment or check collection or something in particular, this store will be your best option. If you ask about Patricia, she is one of the best employees, she will make you feel comfortable and, above all, in an atmosphere.”

“For the most part it's a good store. Like most grocery stores these days you have to be careful and look through the produce to get fresh. Most often it goes bad quickly. Otherwise, I can usually find all the shelf products on my list.”

Though I could do without so much icing, it’s still delicious. The icing adds to the flavor of the cake rather than take over. And each cake is moist!! The cannoli was good as well! “My favorite store! Great prices! Has everything we need, except ORGAINC CREAMER! Which causes me to have to go to Walmart. And as I explained to the manager, if we have to go to Walmart to get creamer, that is where we do our grocery shopping that trip. Most creamers have chemicals/preservatives in them. We refuse to eat anything that is not FOOD.”

“I've been going to the Food Lion at the Hidenwood Shopping Center for years. Their prices are competitive, the store is clean and their selection adequate. However, their main attribute is the staff. They're always friendly and very customer centric. So much so, I've gotten to know many of them by name. Having said that, I'd like to share an observation that I had a couple of Sundays ago.
While standing in line to check my groceries, I was behind an elderly customer. The cashier, 'Evony', was running the cash register. When it was time for the elderly customer to pay, she produced a large amount of change. The customer appeared to struggle a bit counting the change and was quite apologetic for it. Evony didn't miss a beat. She helped the customer count out her change and apply the correct coupons while telling her it wasn't a problem at all. Evony's smile, kind demeanor and patience touched my heart to such a degree, I wanted to share the moment.

“My family and I have been to different Krogers and by far our favorite is the Kroger at Yorktown. I understand that each person may have different experiences when they shop, even our experience varies per visit. However, the most consistently well maintained and stocked Kroger is Yorktown. The staff I have interacted with is also friendly, relative to other Kroger locations. Overall, the well stocked items and store layout are the main reasons why we choose Yorktown as much as possible.”
