“I feel it's worth leaving a review since we've ordered in and ordered take out. The actual restaurant is an intimate, cute, and clean setup. I was actually shocked to walk into the back to see a small restaurant that would allow you to eat inside, but nonetheless my husband and I ordered and sat. Service was attentive, fast, and very accommodating. We tried lengua tacos, Al pastor tacos, and a carne asada torta. We like that this restaurant serves pico de gallo with their tacos here, and their salsas were delicious. Hands down one of the best tortas I've had here in Newport News. The lengua tacos are steamed and flavorful, and Al pastor tacos are really great too. Small store, but packs a punch in flavor. Worth giving a shot in my humble opinion.”

“Fantastic little grocery store that has almost everything you need for an Asian dish. They had Filipino, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and some Indian ingredients.Sometime they even have the harder to get Asian fruits like persimmons. In December 2023, they were $2.49/lb.”

“Perfect little Filipino store with a lot of options (snacks, seasonings, sauces, and more). We go here for our lumpia wrappers and sauces, and once we run out of our current seasonings, we plan to buy them here. Very fair prices and super friendly owners! Photo is of the wrappers they sell being used for lumpia. Next time I visit, I will take photos of inside the store.”

“I always find what I need for the Japanese dishes I make. The produce is fresh and the prices are reasonable. When they did not have some rice crackers I needed, the store buyer showed me photos from a catalog to make sure he was going to order the right item.”

“Has all the Indian and Middle Eastern foods you may need. We were able to find some harder to find fresh vegetables, and they even had paneer. The dried items have everything for cooking some traditional Indian cuisine along with raw items to try you hand at making naan, lentil-based dishes, and beans.Cheapest place I could find to get sesame seed old.”

“The commissary is competitive in alot of there items they carry unlike the exchange. Which are different places. Good for the local community and the troops that are stationed there. Very clean, shelves are stocked nice restrooms, nice place to buy groceries and for people who have disabilities can shop an hour before the store opens up.”

“It was my first visit. I was passing by from a doctor’s appointment. I live forty miles away. First thing I noticed was huge pumpkins for only $3.00. I was disappointed with the bakery area. That was the reason I stopped by. I wanted to buy a few pastries for my grandchildren. I wasn’t surprised though because in Crete, Greece I shopped at Lids and the bakery in the afternoon was empty from sweets. I was surprised how huge it was and organized. I walked around to find the section with European Goods. I noticed fresh produce. Reasonable prices. It’s one stop shop. Goods for every budget. Great variety. I loved to see European Goods. I found the European sweets. Chocolates for $1.00. Cookies for $1.00. I picked two of each. I went through the self checkout and had trouble with my card but a very pleasant employee noticed me so she came over and helped me. In other Stores if something is not going well I have to signal for help. Once in a while I do visit the area because I go to Costco but on my next shopping spree I will stop by Lids.”

“2023-11-22 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Still a great place to shop. A little more expensive than other stores but more premium products to go with those prices. Freshly cooked pizza, discounted on Monday afternoon and evening. The Asian bar is good at lunch and dinner.2015 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shop at HT regularly. Usually Thursdays for the Senior discount. Usually a good selection of groceries. Good complement to Food Lion. There are a few items each has that the other doesn't.”

“I have not been in a Dollar General in over 25 years, and when I visited this Dollar General I was astonished at how much it has improved and the much greater variety of products it now sells. The place is jammed and packed with lots of different products, so much that it's like a mini-Walmart of sorts. For its size, they have a great variety of foods and beverages, cleaning products, housewares, tools, hygiene and medical supplies, personal care items, batteries, electronic devices; kids playthings, clothing, diapers, formulas, and toys; kitchenware, and other stuff. The place was organized, clean, and the staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. They also have a FedEx pickup, where you can drop off packages here to be picked up by FedEx later, and they will give you a receipt for dropping such off. The parking lot is fairly large and has plenty of space. All in all, this place is great and surprisingly has a lot of stuff at good prices. I would strongly recommend visiting this place just to browse through the place and see the huge variety of stuff they sell and their low prices on such. Doing so will put Dollar General on your map as a place you can go for a lot of stuff at good prices, and will probably pleasantly surprise you and change your view of the store chain and franchise.”

“I enjoyed a savory box of chicken gizzards at a very reasonable price. What’s more, I ate it while playing a Skill Game which they have 8 of. I left a while later but realized I had left my wallet on the game console. I was extremely happy to learn the owner had found and secured my valuable wallet! Very honest business. Please patronize these hard working people and you will be satisfied too.”

“This is a good store. It's clean and organized. You can't get everything here, but you can definitely prepare nutritious meals for your family on a budget. Their produce and meat are fresh and priced right. That is awesome. The staff is helpful and friendly. All in all, I recommend Aldi.Note: To maintain their low prices, Aldi does not provide free shopping bags, and you need a quarter to rent a shopping cart. The quarter is returned when you are done.”

“During a recent trip to VA I was on a mission to find pan dulce. After searching Yelp for all the keywords I found nothing. I walked into a busy Mexican restaurant and asked the hostess for an assist and she gave me the info for this spot.Apparently there are not a lot of "latin" food stores in the area. This place though had fresh pan dulce in a variety of flavor options. Perfect addition to your morning cafecito.Of course I had to check every aisle for other Mexican cooking necessities like chiles, harina (maseca) for tortillas, arepas, pan, corn husks for tamales, chips, cookies, Goya products, hot sauce, abuelita chocolate, they have a freezer with pupusas, empanadas, guayabas, and another fridge with desserts like tres leches cake and flan.They have money gram for sending money and phone cards. I would recommend this place if you're looking for pan dulce or you get a craving for something from back home.”

“With a choice between Food Lion and Harris Teeter, I chose Food Lion. The food selection is adequate. Most of the items I buy regularly are in stock. The produce is definitely better flavor here, and lasts longer than that of their competitor. The meat/steak choices could be better. Grocery section of the store has never disappoints. Morning staff and management are friendly and professional. The ambiance of this location is fine. No loud, overbearing noise. I will continue to use this location for my go-to grocery store. “I have been a regular customer of this Food Lion location for several years now, and I have never had any issues with their customer service. The staff is always polite, friendly, and willing to assist, especially Ms. Judy, who helped us today. She has excellent customer service skills and spoke kindly to us, which encouraged me to write this great review. The prices are very reasonable, and the selection of fresh meats is unbeatable. The store is always clean and well-maintained. However, I would suggest that they improve the outdoor lighting at night. Although the area is not unsafe, I have seen some suspicious individuals around a few times.”

“I really love this couple. They are so nice and so helpful.
