Our husky pit mix is stubborn with nails and blow dryer, but they still got him dry! I will gladly schedule on a month basis! They answered any and all questions we had, they are super nice here as well.

DogTown
1307 Boissevain Ave, NorfolkBoth of my dogs absolutely love their daycare. They come home tired and happy. The employees are cheerful and helpful, and you can tell they love and care for the animals. They always send videos of my dogs so I can see how much fun they're having. I've heard many horror stories about problematic daycare centers, so it's such a relief to find a center that is so open and transparent about what goes on at the facility.

Norfolk Naval Station Veterinary Activity
1100 Tower St BLDG U-239, NorfolkWe have been talking our digs here since day one after researching local vets. Available to milliary, this vet is great to deal with. The cost is lower than vets in town, and they take our USAA pet insurance. The staff are easy to deal with and are willing to work with you if you can't exactly meet the appointment time. Lab results that weren't required to be sent to another facility came back 2 hours after they were collected, which was amazing.

Citizen K9 Dog Training And Agility
2400 Granby St, NorfolkMy Great Dane puppy was scared of everyone and everything. She lacked confidence. After trying another facility, that was a horrible experience, I found Citizen K9. She is a different dog. She loves going there and spending time with the other dogs and the staff. She will even do agility obstacles with them, at her own pace of course. I highly recommend Citizen K9 to anyone looking for a place to work with your dog or just a place for your dog to go during the day rather than stick at home while you go to work

The High Cup
117 E Princess Anne Rd, NorfolkLove this place! Great artsy feel with great food. Made fresh and with care. Healthy “power bowls”. Their chai is awesome. Today I tried the strawberry ? chai and it was delicious, my new favorite. Very welcoming atmosphere. When visiting Norfolk this is our go to place for coffee, tea and lunch! I love their herbivore dish, the tofu is amazing with great flavor and texture. Even non-vegans love it!

Norfolk Botanical Garden
6700 Azalea Garden Rd, NorfolkWe visited during the Holiday light festival this past weekend. It was absolutely fantastic and everyone in the family agreed it was the best light show we've seen. We had tickets for 7-8pm on Saturday night so it was pretty busy but the wait to get in and park wasn't terrible (about 30min) and was well managed. Once parked, there wasn't a wait to get into the garden. The path was well marked and not crowded.

Strawberry Fields Smoothies & Gelato
1510 Colley Ave, NorfolkOur gelato was delicious! The counter person was friendly and very helpful with our selections. I loved all of the chocolate chips in the sweet cream and chocolate, and my husband really like his vanilla, as well. Being from Philly, we had to try the Butter Cake so we took a piece home. It was very tasty; perfect accompaniment to my coffee! Check them out after dinner on Colley like we did :0)

Baker's Crust Artisan Kitchen
330 W 21st St, NorfolkThis is a great place to eat however, I don’t give it five stars because at the bottom of the menu in very small print, it states that in order to avoid raising prices, they are adding a 3.5% adjustment fee to all checks. Isn’t this the same as raising prices? This is a bit of a deceptive practice in my opinion.

Equinox Coffee Co.

The Grilled Cheese Bistro
345 Granby St Suite B, NorfolkI ordered The Melt and was very satisfied with my meal. There was a good amount of pastrami and cheese distributed throughout the sandwich. The bread was also well toasted and provided a nice contrast in texture to the filling.
There are a lot of items on the menu that I would love to try. And they have a seasonal item on the chalkboard inside of the restaurant. Definitely worth a another visit.

Toast
2406 Colonial Ave, NorfolkWent on a Thursday. We were the only ones in there for a while. The service was okay. I ordered a whiskey sour and the waitress didn't give me an opportunity to pick my options of whiskey brand. Even though they were listed on the menu. It was like she was in a hurry. But we were the only ones in there. She did the same thing with the check. Just seemed to rush and seemed annoyed. The food was good. Very different, but good. We were there for dinner but will go back and try their brunch one day.

The Birch
1231 W Olney Rd, NorfolkSo we’ve been coming since they’re first opened and we LOVE the variety of beers available. The addition of pizza is amazing, making this spot an easy place to spend time with friends or for date night.
Kid-friendliness: Although there is space, I’d say its not as child friendly/child accommodating as other breweries.
