“Great lil Sandwich shop! All kinds of items from candy, fresh eggs and several kinds of meat! Great lil spot for lunch, good for soup of the day or your favorite freshly made sandwiches! Few inside seating available also. Check it out,you won't be disappointed!!”
“Love visiting Preston. Employees are always very friendly and welcoming and the food is great. If you’re looking for a way to support a local business or just want a tasty sandwich or good fried chicken then I highly recommend visiting a market near you!”
“Excellent and friendly service at all times. Very welcoming atmosphere and food is exceptional for breakfast and later in the day. The price points are very reasonable as well. I have nothing but praise for The Market at Belair!”
“One of the best complete groceries in town, everything reasonably priced. Real standout in this place is the butcher department. Best meats in town at affordable prices!”
“Amazing store and very friendly people. Family owned and operated for almost 20 years. They have everything you need from fresh halal meat to spices, olive oil, cheeses and so many more.”
“Charlottesville institution - it has been around for decades, in the same location but the store feels fresh and new. Not resting on its laurels. This is a neighborhood market stocked with international and hard to locate items. Staff members especially the wine person are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of products. Locally produced items are available as well. Bakery & delicious prepared hot foods, salads, sandwiches, sushi, etc. they've got you covered. Oh, did I mention the fried chicken? It's great! If you are a fan of Kite's ham, look no further, they have that too. If you have never been, stop by and be ready for a treat.”
“This food lion i think isnt as good as the one in Louisa co. Not far fro. Ruckersville, the prices are higher there at this one, the meat selections arent as good, i asked the meat guy if they carry chicken livers, he just shook his head no. The employees in Louisa are more helpful and willing to help, i know prices vary in locations, but there meats are very high compared to Louisa, i couldnt belive it, id rather travel and go to Louisa than this store, the entire atmosphere makes u feel like ur on ur own trying to find something.”
“Everything you need in a neighborhood grocery store. Always find what we need. Excellent salmon too! Some things are a bit more expensive for convenience but nothing unreasonable. Love Market St Market!”

7070 Seminole Trail, Ruckersville“A great little spot! They lose a star for selling invasives like vinca minor right around the corner from their native plant tables. ? But, happy to see so many natives and a wide variety of herbs and pollinator friendly plants.
Much better selection than any of the box stores around! I was also thrilled to see they carry Coast of Maine soil.
The loyalty program will be dangerous incentive for my plant addiction.”
“First time I've ever been here. Lots of different types of food. Only bad thing that I saw was somethings you can't find a price on and a few things are high but most are priced right. I'll come back when I have more time and money.”
“love the items they have, always changing (don't count on website being honest with items & their counts being correct) ...prefer to go with my husband who can hold the cart, 'cause where i park you can not hold the buggy and work in (with) your cart, the hill is huge (carts will roll).”
“David and Cardel Was amazing at their job today. They helped me find. Things that I was looking for because the store layout is much different than Holly Mead town centers.”
“A coworker of mine told me about this spot. The tacos are 10/10, super friendly guy helped me out I think he was the owner. They sell a thing like cornbread called an El Salvadoran quesadilla, get one from the counter and thank me later.”
“I love shopping at this Foodlion (Timberwood Blvd, Charlottesville, Va.)!! This store is always so clean and I love the wide isles to stroll down!! Foodlion always has great sales to save me money!! I love using my MVP card to get all of my savings!! I always look for the new weekly sale paper to see what I can purchase!!??????”
“My very tiny one person order is always treated with the same care and attention as the $$$$$ orders.Advice and suggestions Readily offered & always helpful. Local, clean, top quality meats and the eggs are amazing!”
“This shop has an amazing selection, a great to-go restaurant, and a Mexican butcher shop all on site. They are accommodating whether you speak Spanish or not, and the staff is always friendly. We go for spices, produce, and the chorizo is fantastic! They also have a wonderful selection of pastries like pan dulce. This place is worth the visit for anyone who lives to eat or cook great food.”
“I love this little gem! The place is clean and completely stocked up with all the awesome essential items my family like! The staff was very helpful and nice too. I'm glad that they're constantly improving the store!”
“Pantops Food Lion is one of the best stores I've been in. The employees are very friendly and helpful, but the store is clean, neat, and organized. They really try to keep the stocked, and if you can't find it, they will find it for you. "AWESOME"!!!”
“The setup of the store is kind of off-putting, but I like that they carry a French yogurt I can't find without driving all the way into Charlottesville. Staff have gotten considerably more friendly in the last six to twelve months.”
“What an amazing market!!!I never give out 5 stars so easily, but thus market deserves it. I asked questions and the staff was very helpful. Everything is neatly organized and the store is super clean!!! Many varieties of rice, beans, legumes, spices, teas, fresh and canned fruits and vegetable you can't find in regular markets. I went in to look and left withtwo grocery bags full. I will be back.”
“This food lion has friendly, helpful staff and great deals. They maintain the store well and keep it organized and clean. They always have good produce and excellent managers deals. Checkout is a little slow, but I always enjoy chatting with the folks who work here. It feels like a neighborhood grocery store in the best of ways.”
“I stopped by Payton's on my way home from Shenandoah National Park and was very pleased I did. The staff was so friendly and charming and absolutely sold me on the fried chicken here. Happy to have stopped by!”
“I would really love to say thank you to Robin for being helpful with me when the cashier didn't give me the receipt and I need to return a shoe rack that is I thought was on sale. She is really kind and patient with me. And I would like say that I really appreciate her. Among the 3 employees I've encountered yesterday , she is the only one who had tried to help me out. Thumbs up!”
“My in-laws live in North Garden and I wanted to make them Jamaica (I live in Jalisco) ... This store eased my homesickness but also has everything you'll ever need to make anything you ever want Mexicano.Precios razonables, personal amable y una amplia suministro de especias El Chilar.”
“Their customer service is absolutely incredible! I was in need of groceries but under quarantine and couldn’t get them myself. They were so friendly, understanding, and helpful. A kind soul offered to do my shopping and deliver it to my front door. I get that this is a very special event, but their generosity was mind blowing and I can’t wait to return in person. Thank you so much!”
“The manager, Mike, was so helpful, kind, AND FUNNY! I didn’t imagine that I’d have so much fun grocery shopping after work. He helped me find all the things I couldn’t. Thank you, Mike!!”
“This Harris Teeter location is the fastest growing location in Charlottesville. By growing I mean trending upwards in terms of quality, selection, and friendly staff. The selection of foods and ingredients from around the world is getting larger but the costs are not spiraling out of control and there are always deals to be had if you're a member of the Vic card savings club. The deli is absolutely phenomenal and stocks Boar's Head brand. Definitely visit them!”
“Quiet little local shop with many food items based out of Mexico. A wonderful kitchen cooking up working man dishes of Latino flavor and money services to Latin America.”
“Always love a Trader Joe's run. Always find something new and interesting, plus the staples. Sucks that they're always so crowded and the checkout lines are so long.”
