“Staff usually friendly and helpful, however, my cashier was very deadpan and seemed very disinterested in any interaction or comments on purchase. Grant it busy before the holiday and he also has to size people up. Seemed the same with the person behind me. But overall a fine experience”

“My spouse and I have been clients since they opened the store over twenty years ago. First, the service is excellent, even when they get exceptionally busy, they work hard to interact with each customer. Their staff are wine and beer lovers themselves, therefore they are better prepared to assist in selecting a bottle of wine. Our visits to the store are more than ducking in to buy a bottle of wine, cheese, appetizers, soup, or a gift - it’s an experience. The folks there are more like family to us. Regular visits to the tastings (Thursday Night Open Bottle; Friday Night tastings, Saturday afternoon tastings, as well as past classes, and dinners) have allowed us to meet new people, make new friends, and hear some great wine stories. It’s a social experience for us. They are also family friendly including the doggos (the regular pups know about the treats).
You won’t find a Two Buck Chuck or Boone’s Farm Country Quencher (dating myself, I know), nor do they carry wines you can find next door at Giant, etc; they do try to meet clients at their price point. If you buy at one of the tastings they offer a discount on those wines. They also feature two craft beers every Friday night.
Another bonus to us is being able to support a local family owned business.”

“Absolutely amazing place and even more amazing people! Have been shopping here since it opened and will never go back to big chain wine stores. Steve and, Patrick before, and their team welcome you like family and will really get to know you, your tastes and dislikes and will remember it and will offer you new wines that match those tastes. Their cheese selection is also great and so are their wine tastings on weekends where you will often meet the winemaker or distributor. While their selection might be smaller than the big box stores who claim to have more, The Wine Outlet has way more in diversity of wine, hands down better pricing, way more knowledgeable and helpful team and a vibe of going to a “friends place” for gathering!! They will also happily order something that they may not carry if available in the state!A local gem”
“I recently went in search of Chartreuse Green - it's a spirit used to make an iconic cocktail The Last Word - a prohibition era cocktail. Apparently, it's been somewhat of a challenge to find this spirit - as only a small amount is made by the Carthusian monks of the Grande Chartreuse monastery in France. I happened to find several Virginia ABC Stores in the 15-20 mile range from my home - so I cruised over to snag two bottles. I could not find it on the shelf - so I checked with the staff. The Chartreuse Green was stored in the back - they promptly retrieved two bottles for me - plus I restocked my supply of Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur with a fresh bottle. This particular Virginia ABC Store feels smaller than most. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was good! #VirginiaABCStore”

“Couldn't find the Creme de Cassie, but I asked anyway to see if I overlooked it. The sales clerk said no, but asked the manager in the back, and he did have it. Apparently it's a special order for restaurants, so be sure to ask if you don't see what you are looking for”

“I only occasionally go to this store but every time I do the staff is very friendly and helpful. They're always working it keep the shop clean and organized. Only reason not a 5 star is because ABC has a pretty good selection, but not an excellent selection.”
“Off the beaten path, this clean, well-lighted ABC store features a decent selection, frequent mark downs, and friendly staff who can connect you with your favorites or help you choose the booze you need for a new cocktail or party liquor stash. In the Harris Teeter Pender Campus strip, you'll miss this location if you blink while driving by. Maybe that is why it is never crowded and I always feel I can leisurely peruse the shelves without pressure if getting out of the way of other shoppers. Last year for our Halloween party, the patient attendant searched inventory in several stores to locate a couple bottles of black vodka for one of the seasonally themed drinks we were serving. He then called the other store and asked them to set aside the bottles and have them waiting for us. Other times, I've just brought in a list of spirits needed to make specialty cocktails and the attendant has gone to the shelves and brought the items to the counter--in essence doing my shopping for me. I really couldn't ask for better customer service.”

“Today I stopped by looking for a high quality gin for an event. The very knowledgeable clerk was able to talk about the most expensive gin, and most unique gin (gunpowder) and the smoothest and best tasting. His recommendation for best tasting was half what I was planning to spend. Thanks!”

“This is one of the newer, larger stores. It has more stock than some, but not as much as you would expect from the size of the store. I has a different mix of liquor than some nearby stores, so check stock on line. They have the same critical supply chain issues as other Va ABC stores (of February 2022), and probably 1/3rd of the shelves are empty. I highly recommend going on line to check the stock if you want something specific. As usual, the store has very helpful and friendly staff.”

“Clean and always so easy to shop. I went here ro grab a salad for lunch and there were lots of variety. I got the el jefe salad with chicken. It was a big portion so I ate it for two days. The salad was definitely made fresh because I can taste the freshness. The sandwich is about $10 and it is HUGE! Quick service, easy in and easy out!”

“Good ABC store. The lady behind the counter was very friendly. I called the store several hours after a product drop and they were helpful to tell me what products were still available. The customer service here is great. Would recommend coming to the store.”
