“I recently went in search of Chartreuse Green - it's a spirit used to make an iconic cocktail The Last Word - a prohibition era cocktail. Apparently, it's been somewhat of a challenge to find this spirit - as only a small amount is made by the Carthusian monks of the Grande Chartreuse monastery in France. I happened to find several Virginia ABC Stores in the 15-20 mile range from my home - so I cruised over to snag two bottles. I could not find it on the shelf - so I checked with the staff. The Chartreuse Green was stored in the back - they promptly retrieved two bottles for me - plus I restocked my supply of Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur with a fresh bottle. This particular Virginia ABC Store feels smaller than most. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was good! #VirginiaABCStore”

“Quiet little store with a decent selection - docking a star because there's a few basics (like sweet vermouth) they consistently never have that the larger ABC stores do. People leaving negative reviews are ones expecting a fireside chat with the cashier about all the latest nuances of artisan liquors even though the dude is clearly not originally from this country. I hope he gets paid enough to deal with all the privileged Burke residents.”
