“Legit ABC store!Walked in, was greeted quickly, and bounced ideas off the staffer. Ended up with a glorious bottle, and threw it in my bag like a hobo.Credit accepted. Easy parking, though not a lot. There’s more parking at the shopping center next door.”

“So I purchased a bottle of bourbon, and they gave it to me in a paper bag. It was raining pretty hard, and on the way to my car the paper bag got wet enough where just as I was getting in the car, the bottom of the bag fell out and the bottle smashed on the pavement! It was the worst thing, standing there in the rain looking at broken glass and smelling the bourbon I just bought!I picked up all the glass and cradled it in what was left of the wet paper bag and walked back to the store, just to use their trash can and let them know what happened. Was not expecting anything, but the gentleman at the desk said they should have double bagged it or used plastic because it was raining. And then they grabbed me a replacement bottle from the shelf! I asked if they were sure, and they assured me they have procedures for things like this and they just need to fill out some paperwork on their end. They needed the cap of the broken bottle with the tax tag as well, which luckily I had brought in with the rest of the broken glass.Aside from that one off story, it's an easy store to navigate and everyone has been friendly and helpful. I will try to make this my regular store in the future!”

“This has become such a staple for us! Jess, in particular, has just the most knowledgeable, helpful recommendations, though we have never been steered wrong by anyone. If you're looking for interesting wines and a staff that will know almost every odd varietal in stock, swing by at your earliest convenience.”

“Great homebrew and bottle shop. Free beer tastings on Friday evenings. Owner and staff were very friendly & helpful. Beautiful store and efficient setup to get what you need for a brew day. Limited unique ingredients compared to other homebrew but they offer substitutes”

“For dining, lovely ambiance inside and out. Service isn't always that great, particularly inside. The menu is limited but everything on it is excellent. For alcohol purchase, they can get anything. You can order it, pay for it ahead of time, back up and they will load it in your car.”

“Great selection of east European beer and spirits! Purchased various Serbian and Croatian spirits for an enthusiast’s liquor collection. Gabe was very down-to-earth and helpful.NOTE: Parking was a pain, as to be expected in downtown DC. I used a nearby parking garage and paid $15 for less than an hour’s worth of parking.”

“I enjoy Balducci's because they have a nice variety of wines you can not easily get at big box stores. If you need that special ingredient for a dish, they usually have it. You can grab a snack and a drink and sit in their Cafe or outdoors on the patio. And mostly I appreciate the pleasant staff who are always willing to help and not make you feel rushed. While the prices are more expensive than other grocery stores this is a specialty market and for that prepare to spend a little extra. If looking for a weekly grocer, this may not be it. But if looking to cater a party, find a special bottle of wine or get that hard to find ingredient, this is a place to check out.”

“Shocked!! Stopped by to pick up a few bottles before my parents arrived in town,I grew up in the SF Bay Area, close to Napa, Sonoma, and Lodi. We usually bought wine at the wineries. Well... I'm just about out of my CA stash,The lady at the shop was super helpful, helped me choose whites and reds. We opened a bottle from Cline, I did not have high hopes. It said Contra Costa on the bottle (where I grew up!). Anyhow, it was fabulous and only $16.99.I am looking FWD to trying the rest and going back!!BTW... sandwich shop is delicious (a few doors down) and bread shop is great too. Lots of little gems in the neighborhood”

“It is embarrassing to admit my favored contact there knew me by voice when he came to the phone. That was my level of personal service. When I was in doubt, I would get a comment like "I got six cases for myself as the best "everyday" wine I have had."Splendid . . . .”

“I worked with Vienna Vinter to set up a private dinner for executives. The team was incredible to work with. They recommended catering and a chef. They were easy to work with. We will definitely host an event there again.”

“I'm so impressed by MacArthur. I highly recommend!I'm not from the area, and I was searching for the perfect place to deliver a bottle of wine to my former colleague. I'm pretty particular about wine. I was searching for a great Brunello di Montalcino, and I was impressed by their selection. The cherry on top is the awesome staff. I worked with Daniel and Phil to send this gift. I felt like I was in great hands. They double checked everything with me and wrapped the gift beautifully (much better than what I could have done myself).Very professional and efficient. I will definitely be a returning customer for future DC wine/spirits deliveries.”

“Just an hour ago, I had the pleasure of presenting wines at Verified Wines and Fine Spirits and was genuinely impressed by the experience. The community here, led by Max and his dedicated team, is incredibly welcoming — it's like being part of a family. Sharing the exquisite Salton Wines from Brazil with such enthusiastic customers on a lively Tuesday evening was a delight. The shop's pet-friendly environment adds to the charm, making it feel like a slice of wine country right here in DC. A big thank you for the wonderful experience – I'm already excited for the opportunity to come back and share more wonderful wines. And to whoever is reading this review and feeling my excitement, here are the pictures I took to document the whole experience. I will cherish this day forever!”

“It doesn't matter what day or what time I visited the store, the staff is always bright, friendly, polite and helpful. The young gentleman cashier today with the dreadlocks smile was so bright that it changed my attitude and mood. Always a wonderful experience at this location!”

“Excellent local wine and beer shop. Prices are fair for the convenience and the ability to support a small, local business. Attentive owner. Great neighborhood shop for Fairlington!”

“Great service with a local touch. Jon and Derrick have been so helpful getting what I need and even recommending vendors to help with a needed repair to our wine cellar AC unit. Friendly, small-town service with big-city stock, what else could you ask for? (OK, maybe parking Lol)”

“I was looking for a specific Vodka, which they did not have on the shelf. The Lady who worked there was very helpful in finding a "nearby" store which had the item in stock and also didn't hesitate to call them to make sure it is in the store. I will definitely go back to this location. She said that they usually have that item or could order it. I just loved the customer service.”

“I love this place. I can get craft beer and Asian candies at the same spot, and pair it with Belgian lambics. K-1 is a global market to service your refined snacking and drinking needs. They even do postal service and lottery games. Don’t miss out!”

“Wide variety of fine wines and spirits. Staff is friendly and very helpful. They have a lot of expensive stuff so might not be the best if you’re looking for a $10 bottle of wine (for that there’s Streets Market next door). But if you’re looking for something special then Georgetown Wine & Spirits is the right place. As somebody who primarily drinks water, juice, tea, and beer, the folks in Georgetown Wine & Spirits Ware a lifesaver with recommendations. Give them a shot you won’t be disappointed.”

“Absolutely amazing place and even more amazing people! Have been shopping here since it opened and will never go back to big chain wine stores. Steve and, Patrick before, and their team welcome you like family and will really get to know you, your tastes and dislikes and will remember it and will offer you new wines that match those tastes. Their cheese selection is also great and so are their wine tastings on weekends where you will often meet the winemaker or distributor. While their selection might be smaller than the big box stores who claim to have more, The Wine Outlet has way more in diversity of wine, hands down better pricing, way more knowledgeable and helpful team and a vibe of going to a “friends place” for gathering!! They will also happily order something that they may not carry if available in the state!A local gem”

“It's still five stars here, and they also opened the nearby Sara's Market. Love them both. But now the "food desert" aspects of Georgetown have improved since my previous review. We got our Whole Foods back (although it is mechanized, so the ambience sucks), and Trader Joe's opened, as did Wegman's and Streets. So there is competition, definitely, but this little corner shop still has my heart.”

“The best birthday experience I have had in a while. David and the Mixologist were very patient, professional, & friendly. Whether you love vodka & gin or hate them this is definitely the place for you! The pairings are so tasty you'll want to try them ALL! I am definitely going back with family & friends!”

“I have lived at Dolley Madison for over 20 years and love this market. Its small, but for its size, they have a good variety of items. One thing I would like to see them do is yank out the Blue Bunny Ice Cream, errr Blue Bunny Frozen Dairy desert freezer and sell REAL ice cream, and not the frozen dairy desert garbage. I have a recommendation, a brand that is local to the east coast, been around for years and really needs more places in NoVa to carry the brand.HERSHEYS ICE CREAM.Its REAL Ice cream, they have great ice cream, and ice cream novelties. They have a great variety of products and with the limited amount of places that sell it, if you were to sell it and word got out, it will sell, it will be a successful switch. Look at Vienna Drug Store. They are ALWAYS. selling out of MANY of the most popular varieties. I know because I usually buy them out of some of their products on a regular basis. Please support an ice cream company that still believes in ICE CREAM and not one of the many "Frozen Dairy Desert" Companies. But great store, friendly people, good prices and they pack a lot in such a small space.”

“I've been here a couple times. It's a small place with great service. The deli is excellent. I recommend the Reuben with no modifications. On one occasion, my card was unexpectedly declined; the cashier was very gracious and took care of the next customer at the second register while I sorted out the issue, so I didn't suffer any further embarrassment OR hold up the line. I really appreciate that level of service.”

“Fantastic wine shop with a great staff. We stopped in after getting a cake from the neighboring pastry cafe. We asked if they could help us pick out wine for a charcuterie and the cake, and Pam helped us pick out two not-too-expensive bottles. The moscato she picked for us was the best I've tried. They also carry some beer, cheese, crackers, etc. so glad we finally stopped in!”

“I try to make it a habit of spending my money in small businesses and when I came across Norms beer and wine I think 20 years ago I began shopping in his store. I discovered all kinds of wonderful beers and he even had a Beer Brewing news magazine. While looking through the magazine I discovered a tournament of beers. I immediately went ahead and played the tournament trying all the beers against each other and I came to discover that Old Chubb Scotch Ale was the best of them all. Thank you Norm. There was even a time that my wife and I would buy 30 packs of Strohs or Old Milwaukee for $15.99 Get to know Norman the owner. He is a small business operator & a good man.”
