“Excellent service with attentive and caring staff. Beautiful setting and easy to reach. It's the perfect place to relax after a busy day. Highly recommended for a pleasant and comfortable stay!”

“My wife and I stayed here for a night as part of a weekend getaway. The location was great as it wasn't in the center of town but close enough that we walked into town for dinner that night. The service was amazing and the breakfast was great. The only thing docking it one star is the fireplace was not usable. I booked a few weeks in advance and specifically chose a room with a fireplace because I know my wife loves a fireplace and it adds a little something extra to the mood and coziness of the room. We were informed when we arrived that they had turned off the pilot lights on all fireplaces for the summer. It was only mid-march, so still some chill in the night air. I think a little note when booking on the website that specifies a date when the fireplaces will not be available would be nice. I likely would have booked a different room had I known. Other than that, the stay was very pleasant.

Nearby activities: A short walk or drive from downtown Salt Lake City and Temple Square. Plenty of restaurants and other activities nearby.”

“The hotel view was amazing but more amazing than that was the quality of service I've received. From the valet, speaking of Tal and Quin specifically, to the Mar Muntanya staff, specifically Aaron and Danny at the bar. Also the chef is an absolute genius. Also Captain and the twins. These people all need raises!”

“Favorite hotel in the Salt Lake area-- and I have tried nearly all of them. Rooms are comfortable and clean, staff is friendly and competent, and the facility amenities are especially impressive: awesome rooftop pool / bar / fitness center with 360 degree views of the Wasatch front and downtown SLC, and multiple solid dining options on-premise or within a block of the lobby. Parking was also super easy, although a little pricier than elsewhere. Enjoyed the stay and will be back.”

“Great location! Within walking distance of just about everything downtown. The views are beautiful. Loved sitting in the heated outdoor pool and relaxing while taking in the sights of the southern Salt Lake valley. Just need to be quick getting out of the pool. Very chilly between the pool and the rooftop entrance to the hotel. Fortunately, there are plenty of towels to create a makeshift parka with. ?

Nearby activities: Near the Delta Center, Trax, and Gateway mall.

Walkability: Elevators take you directly from the garage to any floor in the hotel. If you haven't checked in yet, you can get to the front desk without a key card. Easy access to anything in the hotel.

The Delta Center and Gateway mall are short walks. City Creek and Temple Square are much longer walks. Public transit is available at no charge within the downtown area.”

“Went here for a nice little staycation. The rooms are great, hotel front desk is great. Only two complaints and that’s only on the food service. The first one was we ordered room service night they didn’t put our order in and when we called back, they said they never had itthat the second is, I’ve been to the breakfast buffet for many years . Went there on July 6 when we were staying at the hotel the worst breakfast buffet I’ve ever had. The food was not good. The service was not good at all. again very disappointed. but will never be back to the breakfast buffet.”

“This hotel is in the perfect location.
You are close to anything downtown, or within walking distance of mass transit.
Beautiful, inviting downstairs, the rooms are large and clean.”

“The pics online don’t do this hotel justice. It’s very clean and very nice. Hotel staff were lovely at all times throughout our stay. Beds were super comfy, shower pressure was great, breakfast was very tasty for hotel breakfast and I can’t get over how quiet the rooms were. Not once did we hear any other guest’s door closing or voices in the hall. The only negative is what others have said and that’s the location. It’s definitely not the nicest side of town and there are many homeless and addicted folks around, however we walked a couple blocks to a bar and nobody bothered us. We noticed a pretty heavy police presence at night and honestly didn’t feel unsafe. I would just recommend obviously not leaving anything in your car and just not hanging outside in the area too much at night. I would recommend this hotel for a very decent spot for the price point.”

“We held a meeting in the Paris Ball Room, everything was well managed by hotel staff. Especially our event coordinator Mike who went above and beyond to help us with great recommendations and plans. If your planning on holding an event here I would highly recommend asking for Mike!”

“Stayed here a couple of times for work and leisure due to the proximity to areas in downtown Salt Lake. The rooms were clean and comfortable, location is walking distance many food places as well as close to trax which is just across the plaza.”

3.9 Good158 Reviews

“One of the very nicest places we have stayed with exceptional hospitality. The rooms were immaculate. The grounds and the view were beautiful. All of the staff friendly and incredibly helpful. The convenience to the tram could not be beat. Easy to get to for someone from out of town. We left some items and Armando, the manager, was wonderful helping guide us on the process to get them mailed back to us. We hope to return regularly.”

“Rooms: Spacious rooms. Close to the airport so you have to deal with that noise. No surprise there but the ac covered it well. They also provide you with one set of ear plugs, but if you have more than one person in the room you can get more from the front desk.”

“I recently stayed at the Asher Adams, and I have to say, they nailed it—especially impressive considering it was during their opening week. It’s rare to see a new hotel so well-organized and seamless right out of the gate. Honestly, it put some of my past opening week experiences with other Marriott properties, like Westins, St Regis, and even Editions, to shame. Those hotels often struggle with hiccups in their first few weeks, but not Asher Adams.

From check-in to check-out, everything ran smoothly. The staff were not only friendly but seemed genuinely prepared, which is no small feat for a brand-new property. My room was spotless, and the attention to detail was obvious. They didn’t miss a beat, whether it was getting requests right or ensuring that every amenity was exactly as it should be. They also made sure I got to make use of my Titanium Elite benefits, which some other properties go out of their way to hide or confuse you on what you are getting.

The building is beautiful—a restored Union Pacific Depot with stunning details like stained-glass windows and terrazzo floors. But what really impressed me was how the hotel feels fully functional while still honoring its historic charm. Every area of the hotel was thoughtfully updated, blending character with comfort. And everything just felt...polished.

Food and drinks were another highlight. Rouser, the restaurant, served incredible food with this smoky twist that ties back to the building’s railroad history. I'll leave a separate review, but their house made fry bread, English muffin, brioche, and salmon were some of the highlights.

On top of all that, the location is perfect—steps from the Light Rail, Delta Center, the Gateway, City Creek Mall. Lots to do in the immediate vicinity.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Salt Lake City, Asher Adams is already running like a well-oiled machine (and is the superior choice if you are considering similar properties in SLC). I was blown away by how smooth and professional the experience was. They’ve set the bar incredibly high, and I’ll absolutely be back.”

“Great place super clean rooms. NO CARPET. I love hotels that do not have carpet. So refreshing. Spectacular views depending on what side of the building you stay in. Great hotel. Would come back again very center and close to anything you are looking to do.”

“Spacious room. Very comfortable. Overall, great facility. Breakfast was delicious. Fitness area and pool were nice. The non refundable ($75) pet fee was a bit exorbitant, especially when even nicer establishments charge less than half of that rate.”

3.8 Good173 Reviews

“This is not an AI-written review. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. However, some things would put a person off. Salt Lake City is not exactly known to be a safe city in the USA. I found a guy drunk and hobbling around in the vicinity of the rooms. Similar shady characters were hovering around the property. Safety is something that Marriot must not ignore if it wants to live up to its name.”

“Faith is extremely helpful and so sweet! The company should feel very grateful to have her!

Food and drinks: Good choice of food and drinks in lobby”

“We stayed for 3 nights and we enjoyed our visit. Friendly staff, very helpful. Our room was very clean and full kitchen with everything you need it to cook. Close to the airport.”

“This is an amazing hotel. Everyone who works here is dedicated, but Chavonne, who handled the front desk, is amazing. First time at this hotel, and I would definitely come again. In heart os Salt Lake city, train a mile away, city buses outside door, many places to walk to nearby. The dry sauna and hot jacuzzi best I have ever seen. Gym has tons of exercise machines.”

“This hotel is small but conveniently located near the university/hospital. The parking lot is an awkward tirangle shape shared with a dentist office and a Verizon. Because it is set back from the road it is very quiet inside. I arrived early (around 1pm) and there were multiple rooms available so I could choose which floor I wanted to be on. The front desk did mess up and double-bill the room, but was able to fix it before check-out. The lobby was clean and bright. There is a coffee and tea station available all day. The rooms were spacious and clean, albeit outdated. The shower was very old and entirely plastic from the basin to the plastic wall to the plastic sliding door. There were outlets on every lamp and in logical places, like near the desk. The WiFi was good. The breakfast was standard hotel buffet, but had a variety of cold cereals, hot food, yogurts, fruit, waffle maker, so there is an option for everyone.”

“Good price. Clean, comfy room. 2 comfy beds. Good shower. My booking got messed up and the staff were patient with me whilst I got it sorted. Free airport shuttle at 4.45am was a big help. There is an indian restaurant and a bar with bar snacks. Enjoy!”

“We take road trips from Reno to Colorado Springs at least twice a year. The place we were staying was becoming increasingly unaccomidating. We've stayed at Doubletrees by Hilton several times on other trips in the last couple years and decided to try this one. We very much enjoyed this stay and will definitely return for the next Colorado road trip! Enjoyed breakfast there too! ☺️The biggest problem we have, with any hotel these days, is making reservations. When the front desk swears they're the front desk & can make reservations for you, & it turns out they're a third party instead & when you get there, it's wrong & nothing can be done except contacting the 3rd party & you don't even know who that was! ?”

“It is located near the Mormon Temple and other sights. We were on the 8th floor and out our window was the Temple all lit up at night. $10 for parking but it's only 6'4" and we were to tall so she let us park in the 5 minute parking areas since we were leaving at 5am the next morning.”

“I want to start off by saying what a pleasure it's been staying at the Residence Inn Cottonwood location.
My mother, son, and I, have been staying here for quite a few months now. We initially were only staying for a hopeful short time, as the house we had just bought had hazardous issues, that we sadly were not notified of at the time of viewing. We have been hopeful that it is fixable, trying our best to find solutions.
Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst for my family and I. Leaving us in a very scary situation I did not ever see coming our way.
We have been fortunate enough to stay here while hopeful arrangements are in effect with the home.
Now putting more focus towards the Resistance In cottonwood location/staff. I can't even think where to begin at this point. The entire staff at the Residence Inn Cottonwood location has pushed beyond the limits of A1 Hospitality.
They don't just treat you as random guests, they treat you as family, they treat you as your comfort physically, mentally, and emotionally is beyond over top priority.
With the situation we have been in, there has been many kind hearted caring people just asking how my day is and if we're ok. Which has been more than enough, sometimes simple words or a single simple smile is all a human needs, and that is something they understand more than anything.
The bedrooms are phenomenal, way beyond what I expected, the amenities are fantastic, layouts are solid, the interior of the rooms are absolutely breath taking. Love the artwork, matches the beautifully painted color on the walls. Love that the laundry room as the view is beautiful to look at while doing laundry the pool I have yet to get in but from the looks of it people always seem so happy, filled with laughs and smiles, the breakfast, oh the food... my goodness, I love the food. But even better, amazingly it is always so quiet and peaceful! Always!! That being said there are all kinds of families that stay here, it's just insanely peaceful, which has also allowed myself to do my job more efficiently and at complete ease.
They always always ask if you need anything, anything at all, stating each available item thoroughly, as some guests can forget they have these things available to their use.
Honestly, this may sound cheesy, too perfect, or as if this is someone trying to "one up the competition", not at all, this is as real as you can imagine.
You can see that they take pride in their hotel as the rooms and all are very well kept and up to date. I have noticed a few reviews on here with negative remarks, and it still is an absolute shock to me as why there would be such words stated. Some peoples standards are so unbelievably high up, that they don't realize what an amazing hotel they are staying at.
The ridiculously good price they offer, you will not see at most hotels now days, especially not this well kept or the beyond solidly amazing staff.
All in all I honestly would hope others see it as a privilege to be able to happily stay in a hotel room, at this specific location.
The way the staff work together and the way they treat their residence's will forever shock me from this day on.
Absolutely 100% hotel to stay at when visiting salt lake, and or just for a nice get away.
This was my first time here, and definitely won't be my last. Ill never be able to pay back the gratitude they deserve, it's impossible.
My highest suggestion to those who come to stay, treat the staff and such like gold, as they put up with more then they should have to.
Thank you to the Residence Inn Cottonwood location's staff for treating everyone so well and showing that no matter the situation in peoples lives, their is always light through the darkest of clouds, they are there to provide the upmost comfortable way, to be exceptionally happy, during your every day stay.
A special massive thank y”

“Food & drinks: There are plenty of places to eat within a mile or 2 plus there is always Uber eats, grubhub, and Doordash. There is also a Walmart right behind the hotel.”

“Well, unfortunately, there’s no swimming pool. Also, the hotel couldn’t provide the accommodation before 3pm. The bar is OK, but the drinks are not great. Overall nice lobby. The room is very nice and clean with the nice view to the Mountains.

Rooms: Clean and quiet

Nearby activities: Corner Bakery

Food and drinks: Drinks are not great”

“Shuttle services from the airport, was a plus. No wait for check in before arrival, a plus. Text messages from Motel, a definite plus.

Noteworthy details: Shuttle service to and from airport. Breakfast provided. Comfortable rooms for solo travelers. Easy access to UBER & LYFT, short wait. TRAX is available if you’re on a budget. I had a restful sleep.”

“Great service, fun room, and romantic experience. My wife and I experienced the Secret Garden room for our 3rd anniversary. It was a peaceful and beautiful room. The separate room with the jetted tub was worth it all. It was gorgeous, serene, and very immersive. They give you a lot for the complimentary breakfast, but it could definitely be improved as it tasted a bit subpar. The service we experienced was great. The facilities could definitely be updated, as some of it seemed outdated/falling apart a little.A few things we noticed that could have been better were the loose outlets making our chargers slip out of them, behind the bedframe not being vacuumed seemingly in ages, and a leftover bottled drink being left in our closet before we came in. These are mainly maintenance issues that could fixed with a little more detailed housekeeping and updating. That being said, the experience itself was definitely a memorable one. We will be coming back next year to try out another room!Rooms: The Secret Garden room was amazing. It was beautifully decorated and felt very cozy. The bed was pretty big and comfortable. The hall bathroom was long and convenient as well. The best part was the jetted tub room. It is surrounded by an arch made of rocks with a beautiful tub in the center with a statue and some other decor. The tub fit both of us, and was very warm and romantic. Definitely one of the better rooms here.Food & drinks: There were complimentary cookies at the front desk that were delicious. Two mini bottles of Martinelli sparkling cider were in our room accompanied by nice glasses to share. As for the complimentary breakfast, there were many different options of food and drinks. My wife had the ham and cheese croissant which was not to her liking. The bacon egg and cheese frittata was actually quite delicious. There was also yogurt, fruit drinks, and hot cocoa to go along with everything. It was a nice and filling breakfast, but its quality could definitely be improved. There are also snack options like sodas and popcorns, pizzas and boneless wings you can order for an extra fee.”
