If I could give lower than one star, I would. Over the past few years both the sales and service departments have gone down hill as far as customer service and honesty goes. Sorry Murdock Hyundai, you've lost a loyal customer. My family and I will take our business to a dealership that actually cares about their customers.

Don't expect the service department to return phone calls or do anything to assist you in getting your car repaired. I would never take a car here for service. Poorest customer service Ive ever received. They tore apart our engine and did not put it back together. We are missing parts and bolts. The service team is pathetic.

I recently, only a week and a half ago, purchased a new Santa Fe at this location. The salesman was very nice and helpful. It seemed. He showed me how to do the many different things on my car and helped me preset radio stations and my seat, setting, etc. He walked around and took pictures of the few places that the paint needed to be touched up because it was slightly scratched and in one place cloudy. Within a day it became apparent that none of the memory functions Dash radio or seat settings, stayed in the car after the car was turned off for more than an hour. I called the service department to schedule an appointment to have my car looked at and explained what was going on and asked if I could get a loaner. I was told the loaner was a process and that they would not guarantee me or reserve a loaner, but that I could try to get one the day I brought my car in but no guarantees. The person I spoke with, was also very curt and not at all helpful. When I tried to explain that look, my car is only about a week old, I gave you my other car is a trade-in, and I do work so I would need to know in advance, is there a way to arrange this, so how could I deal with us and she said I just told you and hung up on me.

Brought my car in for a free oil change as I got my car from this dealership. I waited 2 and a half hours for my car to be brought into a bay. Finally, i said something and they basically told me that i was out of luck and that the oil change was free anyway. The staff was not helpful, or understanding, at all. I believe the person's name was Jacob. If you read other reviews, it seems to be a common thing where they forget people. Would never recommend this place

It's been 3.5 hours since my car was taken into the shop for a regular oil change. I still haven't gotten my car back and customer service has been frustrating.

My mechanic had my wife's car up on his rack and realized that the issue with the car was also under recall for all Hyundai Elantra (2017). So he had me call them, before he took it off the rack, to see if they could take care of the car with the issue it was having. I ended up speaking with a young lady in the service department and she took down the vin, researched the recall and technical service bulletin that I asked about, and she told me over the phone that I can bring it in the next day and the fix will be covered. I then had my mechanic take down the car and took it straight into Murdock Hyundai of Lindon. When I got there, Mike (Advisor) took the car in and asked to work on extra components (fluid changes, belt change, etc.) of the car, which I refused and clearly stated to just work on the doors that were covered under the warranty. He never mentioned anything about running a full diagnostic or charging me that. After leaving it with him for about 2 hours, he called me and stated that the car did not fall under warranty because my wife is a second time owner (which I mentioned to the lady over the phone) and that it would now cost $1200 to fix a door handle, which I refused to have them continue on. He then stated that I have to pay a $170 diagnostic fee, even though it was the same diagnostic from my mechanic and that I was under the assumption that my fix was covered under warranty. I spoke with Tyler (manager in the service department) in the office about being misled over the phone - I even provided him the time stamp of the call and that I could even leave my car over the weekend so that on Monday they could listen to what their employee had told me about my car being covered under warranty - over their call recording. He said that "we are all humans - we make mistakes" and still had no professionalism to try and work with me and see what he could do on his side. He simply said that it was not something that they can help with - even though they had made a mistake on their side. I am now out of $170 for being misled by this dealership and have the inconvenience of taking it back to my mechanic for the same exact thing that he would've started on had I not been told it would be fixed for free. I guess even if it's a "mistake" on their end, they can't fix it.

Scott sent a nice public message I appreciated and responded to. Which he then quickly turned into a huge justification of why they cannot help and how they lose money on most cars they sell. Essentially blaming me, because I got the car for such a good deal. I would have loved to pay more for some quality customer service, or a notification of warranty expiration. He proceeded to tell me that I assumed the car purchase was pure profit, when I suggested they use some of their profits to provide better warranty coverage, extensions, and customer service to solve problems. He blamed me and Hyundai for the problem. I accept that I won't get help, but again they don't help you feel like they care about your problem, zero empathy, except publicly in response to bad reviews.

My experience with Murdock Hyundai in Lindon, Utah was both baffling and disheartening. It started when my college daughter's 2007 Hyundai had a check engine light and gas gauge problem. We took the car to Autozone for a diagnostic test, which indicated a Fuel Level Sensor replacement was needed. I scheduled an appointment at Murdock Hyundai with Jon as our service advisor. Jon quoted a staggering $1450 for the repair, citing an expensive part and 3 hours of labor due to dropping the gas tank. He suggested replacing the fuel pump as well, given the car's age. I expressed my reservations about the cost and mentioned coupons on their website. Jon said he'd work on lowering the price. I found a YouTube video showing that the repair could be done without tank removal I called Jon and he agreed to look into it. He said the part needed to be ordered and it might take a week to complete the repair due to the July 4th holiday. Receiving no updates, I called on July 12, nearly two weeks later only to find out the car was reportedly fixed and ready for pickup, with a reduced cost of $890.18. I was surprised by the lack of communication and the price still seemed high, but we went and picked up car, paid and thanked Jon. Two weeks later, the check engine light resurfaced. My daughter was in tears because she had to return to college and can't be without a car and didn't want to spend any more money on this old car. I debated on what to do but knew I couldn't send my daughter to college and risk breaking down so reluctantly, I contacted Jon again who agreed to a free assessment. Astonishingly, he called later that day saying the car was fixed and I owed $550. It caught me off guard as I hadn't authorized any work. It turned out that during the initial visit, Murdock had the car for two weeks and had only ordered the part and hadn't performed any repair. We were never told this, nor were we told to come back when the part arrived. I confronted Jon and he admitted it was totally his fault, he thought the car was fixed the first time. Jon explained he'd need me to speak with Tyler, the service manager to get the extra charges waived. Tyler's first question to me was "what do you do for a living". I was baffled and told him that was irrelevant to the situation. He next asked "do you work as a manager?". I again told him his question was inappropriate and not relevant. He explained if I don't pay, he has to go out and tell his tech that he isn't getting paid for installing the part and he was not willing to do that. He explained that the tech only gets paid for the jobs they do so if I don't pay the extra, the tech goes unpaid. I explained that I didn't think it was fair that I would need to pay considering how Murdock would have taken my nearly $900 and not called us to come back. Tyler swiped the keys and said he was going to take the car and have the part pulled out and refund my money. I explained it wasn't a fair option considering they had our car for over two weeks and my daughter was leaving for college in two days and we wouldn't have time to take the care elsewhere for repair. Tyler started to walk away and said he was going to have the part removed. I asked how long it would take, he said it will be another 3 hours. I explained I couldn't wait 3 hrs and my daughter needed her car to leave for college in two days. He continued walking. I just agreed to pay the extra $250 and I left. Had I not finally decided just to bring the car back for what I thought was a new problem, they would have never called me and kept my $900.

This dealership sucks; they don't call about your car unless they want your money, they recommend hold over fixes until you have to come back in, and while they clearly know there's something wrong with my specific make and model, they won't put into Hyundai for an engine repair/replacement. When I gave the representative a poor rating, the rep guilted me by implying he didn't get paid with a low rating, which is not my responsibility nor an accurate reflection of my experience. I've had to tow my car in twice, brought it in 3 times in the last 7 months for the same issue, and I'll be back soon to spend more money when my engine inevitably consumes oil and my check engine light comes back on. Avoid this dealership; they don't give two shits about their customers.

Sold us a car with transmission going out. Said they had checked everything and all was well. Lied. My daughter and granddaughter was almost T boned in an intersection when the transmission went out. We had bought the car a month earlier. Said it would cost us 9000 to fix. Talked with manager, he said this car should not have been on the lot for sale. That they would take care of it. Lied.Fixed the car under our warranty. When they said it would be taken care of by them. Went to pick car up. It was dirty and they also wanted 200.00 for the deductible. Would and cannot recommend Murdoch Hyundai to anyone. Please be aware. They will lie about anything to get a sell.

Consistently terrible service, these guys refuse to help. If you want your bank account drained and your car damaged even more, than bring it on it! I brought my Elantra to get my engine fixed, took them FOREVER, and when I got it back my AC didn't work, I asked them if they could fix the AC, (my AC has been amazing till they worked on the car) and they want to charge another $200 diagnostics fee and charge for the AC repair... ridiculous

Would NOT recommend taking your car here. They diagnose incorrectly and scam you of your money, just to come back. I brought my car into this specific dealership after not having good experiences there over and over but because I have a hybrid that other mechanics didn't have experience in. Codes flashed on for camshaft positioning and timing so I brought my car in. They told me that the only thing wrong is that I had sludge in my tank with 1 quart of oil in it. (It's a 5 quart oil chamber). They said it was causing those codes to show and all I needed was to get an engine flush and oil change is all. I called around to a mechanic that I trust and explained the codes and what they suggested. He found their solution for the diagnostic incorrect and wanted to take a deeper look into it. He believed that it was more than just sludge (this issue has been going on longer than a year and the whole time I had 3 oil changes and codes never came on until now). I ended up taking my car front when dealership, letting them know I was going to take it elsewhere because of pricing and I didn't trust their diagnostics. Once I got the mechanic I found that the dealership had CLEARED my car codes this means that I cannot have my mechanic look at the codes and figure out what really is wrong. TOTAL asshole move for the dealership to be shady, just because I wanted a second opinion. I drove the car for 200+ miles and it still hasn't come on. I had my mechanic do the engine flush and oil change just to see if there really was sludge. They reported that there was ZERO sludge and I actually had 4 quarts in the oil chamber so their solution for the diagnostics would have been wrong. I didn't trust the dealership before and still don't. Do Better Lindon! I can only speak for this Lindon location. I hear the others in the area and great. This one needs to change.

I bought a new Ioniq 5. It is amazing. The service and knowledge of my salesman-- Logan was the best experience I have ever had buying a car. He really knows his stuff and got me the best price. It was better than any other. I have bought cars from him before and I have never been disappointed. They are the best!

I never ever leave reviews but I had to leave one for you guys. We brought our car in for five different recalls and one part we actually needed fixed in the steering wheel. We waited around for about thirty minutes before anyone would even acknowledge us at the office, even though we had called ahead and made an 8am appointment. The communication was horrible; we were told it would take a week to get the part in, but it turns out you guys had the part all along. The part itself cost $4.99, and our total came out to $410. How can you feel good about charging a service fee that high when the part itself costs less than a Big Mac at McDonalds? We were also told a bold-faced lie. The guy working with us told us our brakes were "metal on metal" and they recommended a complete repair of both the front and back brakes for $1300. We had just been in at a different mechanic 7 days earlier and they didn't mention anything about the brakes. When I called our usual mechanic to ask what they thought, they pulled up the report and told us our brakes will last another 2 years. VERY disappointed with the service here.
