You will get the best programming at this place. The coaches are funny and helpful. Gym can easily fit 15 people in a session if not more. Totally recommend this place if anyone is looking for a CrossFit to join.

This is a wonderful gym with a great owner and a phenomenal community of people to workout with. Whether you are brand new to CrossFit or have been doing it for many years, this is a place for you. Don’t take my word for it, come check it out yourself!

I think some Christian businesses think that because their clientele is very gracious that they can run a substandard business but I disagree with that attitude, so this is simply my honest opinion based on my one visit and I will say, someone whose opinion I trust has had a very different experience. For one thing, I thought their website was very poorly designed. It didn’t answer my basic question which I don’t have many because I am not new to CrossFit. The owner was teaching the drop in class I showed up to with my child (some crossfits have childcare, some don’t) and literally breathed down my neck silently looking over my shoulder as I sign the waiver and fill out my personal information. I had no idea she was the owner at the time but found out during the course of my wod. I asked if my son could sit nearby my work out station. She said yes. So since I had arrived plenty early, I set my kiddo up with a movie and told him I’d be right here. He often sits with me at the gym with no issues for up to 45 minutes easily so I thought no problem. We start the warm up. I ask how many coaches, she says there’s like 1 other coach and she’s the owner. So I already know, red flag. Boxes that can’t stay staffed is usually because the ownership is toxic. We start the wod. This place is in a super tiny out of the way plaza so the internet connection wasn’t awesome. Soon after, the movie for my toddler is getting spotty so he doesn’t leave the chair, he knows better when I tell him to stay put, he starts calling for me. I am finishing up a set of deadlifts so I tell him that mommy will be right over and give me a minute. You guys, this owner who’s standing around, goes and gets cones out. I finish and I motion him over. He comes over, I am at the edge nearest him, I fix the movie and direct him to return to his chair, which he does. THIS LADY PUTS THE CONES AROUND HIS CHAIR and proceeds to tell me that he cannot come to my workout station again. Let me tell you that no one in this life will ever tell my child they can’t come to me. Especially not some self important owner of a gym. I ask why (There’s nothing she can say that I will agree with but I would like to see where her head was at) and she say’s “safety issue.” I almost laughed in her face. Y’all a crossfit gym is practically a construction zone with weights. It’s not designed for comfort. For a reason. That’s WHY I bring my child. Because if I want to grow the gumption it takes to maintain physical fitness over the course of a lifetime in him, he’s not going to do that in a squishy couch environment. I need no more information on whether I would like to join this particular box (they’re a dime a dozen) so I say, “Oh okay.” And leave. Bottom line, I would never recommend this place to anyone and I completely disagree with the idea that it’s family oriented. She’s just money oriented if you have child old enough to charge you a membership for. There’s a difference. Crossfit is spartan environment but an expensive habit so I think people start it thinking it’s easy money when in fact the type of people who do CrossFit expect excellence from themselves and others. She said she became sole owner when her two partners ( 3 strands) sold her their share and moved on. After spending 45 minutes with her, I, too, was looking for the door. Hard pass on this one.Update: more proof the owner Blyth is incredibly manipulative and unprofessional is that instead of contacting me directly or responding professionally to my negative feedback, she had my “friend” contact me first thing in the morning and demand that I “remove this slander.” Reality check: Slander is only slander if it’s not true. What business owner is going to punish a loyal customer because another one-time customer has a dissimilar experience? Grow up, lady. This isn’t high school. If you have something to say to me, find my waiver. You’re too old to try to bully people into giving you better reviews with their personal connections. Or maybe you aren’t but my expectations are too high. I must’ve hit a real nerve.

I showed up at CrossFit Three Strands having never done CrossFit before and they were so welcoming and supportive. What really sets this particular gym apart from others is the care and attention the coaches pay to every single student that walks through the door, no matter where you are on your fitness journey. It’s like private training without paying the price of a private trainer. Highly recommend.

Joined CrossFit 3 Strands over 7 months ago and I started with small weights. All the workouts are adjustable to your level. The coaches will show you and ensure you do the exercises correctly before adding heavier weight. Once you have the correct form you'll start increasing that weight much faster.Love going to CrossFit 3 Strands its a big family that workouts together, encourages each other and enjoys the challenges!
