Fun old store. Lots of history and novelty items with some antique instruments for sale. Also a large variety of preserves and jams sold here. Looks like some repair work is done here as well. No AC in the building so not an escape from the heat.

A must-see place. We arrived on a cold fall afternoon to listen to a circle of pickers by the old stove strumming away. The store is filled with old toys (new in the box) and antique instruments. We found very interesting books and old world handmade brooms. My daughter had never seen a handmade straw broom before, only the plastic ones from Walmart. :) The nice lady who checked us out did the math by hand including the tax on a carbon copy receipt book. She was super friendly and a former English teacher.

Visiting this store is like stepping into the past. Saturday afternoons, musicians gather in front of the store and play old timey fiddle Tunes.

I moved to Nacogdoches a year ago and when I needed help with my violins and bows, I went to a couple different music shops in town. This shop is my favorite! Quaint, old-timey and simple. The folks there are kind and helpful and honest. They recommended violin teachers and a piano tuner, too. Very refreshing!

I found the owner to be unnecessarily rude and openly prejudiced against me, my wife, and the musical instruments to which have dedicated my life and money. I don't enjoy hearing an old curmudgeon slander all of my instruments because I have the audacity to play early '50s Gibsons. .

Steve Hartz, owner of the store is just a great, wonderful and honest guy. I've known Steve since the early '90's and wouldn't trust taking my instruments for repair work to anyone else. Steve will be up front and honest with you about what repair work has to be done before he starts.

Fun little shop with old style toys and musical instruments. Chances are you might even hear some music like we did!

The proprietor was very pleasant and genuinely real. His shop gave the same feel as well. He repairs and builds stringed instruments and plays them to boot. He shares my appreciation for simple and sometimes primitive life. And, he shows he understands the value of a smile and a kind, calm demeanor.
