“This place is a gem. It was a full house when we stopped in, and many of the patrons welcomed us with friendly hellos. The humidor is full of cigars galore. Had exactly what I was looking for, and even left with a recommended cigar that was definitely the best I’ve ever smoked. Can’t wait to go back.”
“Friends & Fidos visit Buda and Proof Deli came through with magnificent sandwiches on Good Friday! The hot Reuben was fabulous, the Dali Lama was so delicious especially on Good Friday (!) and the Smoking Bird was out of this world. The doggies were treated to water and felt especially welcomed; the weather made the event quite memorable!”

Great store picks, good high-end juice at reasonable prices, and the folks working were very helpful. I didn't stop in for high end stouts, but when I asked about it the manager brought out a box of really nice choices at prices that left me no choice but to grab a bunch of them.

“Going to start exclusively shopping here for liquor. Can’t speak highly enough about the selection and service I’ve received here. 11/10 experience.
Even though it’s a 40 minute drive to here from north of Austin, it’s completely worth it. First off, they have an amazing selection of agave spirits, including tequila, mezcal, and raicilla. They have an even larger selection of whiskey/bourbon.
And the bottles they carry are not just your big name brands like the chain liquor stores have - they have lots of the quality, small batch and hard to find bottles. The most respectable aspect is that they do not price gouge like other stores will. If they have a rare or popular bottle, they sell it at the MSRP price. Thats hard to come by these days.
And if you’re on the hunt for something in particular, just ask them! They’ve been exceptionally helpful! 3 times now I’ve asked them about particular, limited release bottles and all 3 times they’ve had them at their warehouse. They will usually retrieve them and have it reserved behind the counter for me that same day or the next at latest. They get 6/5 stars from me. Love this place.”

“We recently attended a convention in Austin - South Lamar Manager William and Staffer Miles were incredibly helpful with our huge order before we arrived, during and after the convention. They were helped with its delivery to our hotel and with the return of unopened items. Their service and hospitality were professional, friendly and top-notch. “Nice little touristy stop. Lots of cool memorabilia, a couple dozen retro arcade/pinball machines and a few stations of old school Sega/Nintendo/PS consoles hooked up to tube style TVs. We had a lot of fun doing the scavenger hunt. It's a nice affordable stop for a couple hours of fun. The young woman working the front of house was very welcoming and funny.I was there in late January during a weekday, so definitely not peak tourist time. It's a fun stop, but not a "can't miss" sort of thing so I wouldn't recommend waiting to get in if it's busy.”
“Love the snack and drink selection here! I finally tried their Indian food. I got the kofta korma w lamb and it's VERY GOOD. I don't love that it's so much rice and not as much of the korma but most places do that. Wish they were a bit friendlier but whatever, not the biggest deal. YUM”
“Best egg salad sandwich I’ve ever had! I had never been or ordered but on a whim, I ordered this particular sandwich to be delivered. I fell in love, it’s so fresh & delicious. It was put together so neatly & wrapped in brown paper. I also would like to call attention to the nice staff. I was having issues ordering again so I called to inquire about the egg salad. Jesse let me know they still had some & I let her know I was having issues. So she offered to take an order for me for pick up. Lovely store on south Congress, I will definitely be going back to explore all it has to offer soon.”
“What has impressed me the most is the friendliness of this liquor store and market! They have local artisan gifts, cute displays,delicious local cheeses and sandwich deli options. I try to make it weekly here for the fig, bacon and goat cheese, made by Jenna. The packaged goat & sheep cheese is also pretty good. So many wine choices in this shop. I highly recommend stopping by and checking them out.”

“I had something happen to me that has never happened to me before, and that was that I bought a bottle of whisky without fully inspecting it and when I got home, I noticed that the seal was broken. When I called and explained my situation, they gladly replaced the bottle! I was really worried I would be screwed. Great service!”

“Great shop looks like heaven for wine drinkers and buyers, I found lots of stuff I wanted. Had to give 4 stars because I only had my Amex and me so I had to pay cash and I could only get the gift I came for not all the other stuff.

“I love RiverCity Market. I live right across the street and Sam is always so welcoming. There's a real sense of community here. They have the best homemade chocolate chip cookies. Along with a great selection of vegan and gluten free products. Their breakfast tacos are the best. The market is open late which is a huge benefit as well.”
