Austin Equine Associates
20640 Ranch to Market Rd 150, DriftwoodI’ve been using AE for all my vet needs for my two horses for almost 4yrs now. The staff are always super friendly, they make barn calls when you can’t make it out to their location, and I absolutely love that the vets make follow up “calls” (text messages) to check on your horse after surgery. Highly recommend.

Desert Door Distillery
211 Darden Hill Rd, DriftwoodSuper cool Sotol distillery out in Driftwood. The taproom is stylish and they offer both straight pours for tasting, as well as cocktails for hanging out. There's even a little museum in the back to learn more about their history and the story of Sotol. Worth a visit if you're looking for a break from the wineries of the region.

Wimberley Valley Winery
2825 Lone Man Mountain Rd, DriftwoodMy date and I had the BEST time at Wimberley Valley Winery!! The whole place has such a pretty, relaxed ambiance -- perfect for hanging out and sipping wine.
The variety of wines was impressive, with excellent flavors across the board, and what really made it shine were our two hosts, Jake and Carter. They went above and beyond -- generous pours, so thoughtful and sweet, and they made the whole experience feel personal, fun, and easy. None of that stiff, snobby wine vibe here, just genuine hospitality and good times.
And as if that wasn’t enough, we even stumbled into a surprise crew of Porsches outside -- 25 Porches on their way to a show in this picturesque scene. Great wine, great people, beautiful setting -- honestly doesn’t get better than that. Huge thanks to Jake and Carter for making it unforgettable. These guys deserve a bonus!!! :) We’ll definitely be back!

Fall Creek Vineyards in Driftwood
18059 Ranch to Market Rd 1826, DriftwoodI enjoyed my visit to Fall Creek Vineyards. I had Reserve Tasting and my favorite of the flight was the Chez Rosé. The tasting experience was exceptional. The host was wonderful, very friendly, and kept up with all my questions and conversation, making the experience engaging.
The tasting room was cozy, and despite the garden being closed, it was a great, intimate spot to enjoy the wine. Highly recommend stopping here!

Hays City Store & Ice House
8989 Ranch to Market Rd 150, DriftwoodThis was my 1st time to eat here. Obviously it's a very popular place, but i feel like I just found a hidden gem. The queso was fantastic and the chopped sirloin was possibly the best I've ever had and The mushroom gravy was perfect! I was with a group of almost 30 people and the wait staff handled it very well and everyone loved their food. There were a couple of mistakes, but you have to expect that with large groups. The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night, which is a great sign, but it also made it so loud it was hard to have a conversation with those across the table. Overall, it was a great experience!

Vista Brewing
13551 Ranch to Market Rd 150, DriftwoodVista Brewing has quickly become one of our absolute favorite breweries in the Hill Country -- and for good reason! Every visit has been incredible, from the food and service to the beautiful setting that somehow feels both laid-back and elevated at the same time. The property is massive, with indoor and outdoor seating that gives you all the elevated Hill Country vibes. You can walk around and see their chicken coop and bee hives, which they actually use for ingredients in their food and beer (how cool is that?!). Everything here ties back to their focus on regenerative farming and sustainability, and it truly shows in every bite and sip. Even the meat they use is raised up the street from them and has fed off the grains from their beer! They serve up not just great beer -- which has won awards -- but also wine, cider and NA options, making it a great spot for everyone. It's also super kid-friendly, with a kid scape area that keeps the little ones entertained while you enjoy a drink or meal. Speaking of meals... the food is next level! We've tried several dishes, and everything has been phenomenal. The fish and chips were some of the best we've had anywhere -- perfectly flaky with a thick, crunchy batter. The Wagyu burger was out of this world -- juicy, smoky, and cooked over a live fire. Everything down to the pickled veggies and sauces is made from scratch, and you can taste that attention to detail. They often have live music, daily specials, and friendly staff who always go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. Everyone we've encountered has been welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly proud to be part of such a thoughtful, local operation. Vista Brewing is the kind of place that perfectly balances craft, community, and cuisine -- and it's 100% worth the drive every single time!
