Paws on Chicon
7601 S Congress Ave #370, AustinThis is a special place! At any time of the day I have walked in ( even when I cut it close to closing) I am greeted with a welcoming friendly smile and a helping hand. I NEVER feel rushed and I love that the employees take the time to answer any questions or even take items to the front to hold for you so that you don't have to carry your items around the store. It's so refreshing to walk into a store and have a consistent level of customer service each time! It's always organized and clean so things are easy to find. If you want to shop in confidence to ensure that you are buying good quality products then you MUST shop here! Paws on Chicon is a true Austin Gem!

4604 Burnet Rd, AustinLove the place ❤️ They helped me when one of my dogs was having issues with food. They gave tones of advice and suggested products that might help without being pushy. In fact they said if the product doesn’t work they will take it back. My dog is healthy and happy because of the assistance they gave us and we are so thankful.

4211 S Lamar Blvd Ste A23, AustinThey have me hooked! Several friends has mentioned this place as a local business with great sustainable pet food options so I finally decided to check it out when looking for a new dog food. Ample parking as it's in a strip mall, the space is big and they have tons of great brands for food, toys, and other pet supplies. The staff is really what made it. They were super helpful in deciding on a dry food to try but that will get my pup enough nutrients and helped calculate how many cups of food is in the bag I went with to see what avg cost would be. Overall fabulous experience and can't wait to come back. PLUS they deliver free if you order before 3! Simply amazing

3200 Palm Way Suite 142, AustinI am so happy with the grooming that they do for my chocolate lab. He is elderly with arthritis and they always let him take a break and give him time. The de-shed is worth its weight in gold. Anyone with a lab knows the horror of shedding. Everything else about him make a spa day for him a pleasure that I love to give. Thank you Barkin' Creek.

7301 Ranch Rd 620 N, AustinI've never been to the stores because I live all the way in PA, but I still had a great experience with this company. Recently my office received a completely free gift card from this company in the amount of $25, I figure as an attempt to get their name to new people while helping our furry friends get toys, treats and nutritious foods! My favorite thing I noticed was the natural ingredients in ALL the treat and food options. On the back of the card it kindly requested that if I wasn't able to use the card, to please consider donating it, so I chose to donate the funds to the Central Texas SPCA- but instead of mailing the card and hoping for the best, I was able to use Tomlinson's online website to redeem the $25 and with a few dollars of my own I shipped a load of doggy toys, treats and flea products straight to the shelter with FREE shipping!! Thank you Tomlinson's for inspiring me to send some goodies their way!

5716 Burnet Rd, AustinHow many pet stores are ever featured on a local tourist information center's website? I wouldn't be surprised if no other pet store in the country is also considered a tourist destination. Tomlinson's is a local pet shop specializing in pet products with integrity. The original Tomlinson's was the first locally owned pet store in Austin. Th Burnet Rd store has many things you aren't likely to find at the pet supermarkets. They have private rooms full of supplies where you can wash and dry your dog. They have an engraving station where you can make tags for your pet. And, they have caring, attentive staff. Right now, they are matching every pet food purchase with a food donation to our local pet shelters. And if you go in the playroom you can help socialize local kitties looking for their forever homes. Going to Tomlinson's reminds you that you love animals in a city of people who love animals too.

908 E 49th 1/2 St, AustinGreat staff, with very good production selection, and a local business with multiple locations for convenient access. They also give back to the community by having a yearly food drive to benefit local shelters. WallyBed Pet Beds
5114 Balcones Woods Dr Ste 307-198, AustinWally Beds are quality products that our dog adores! He loves stretching out to sleep on the throw on our bed and then alternating with his own cuddle bed in the family room. The material is excellent quality that is soft, durable and washes nicely. We are getting a girlfriend for him soon so we are ordering more “comfy feels” to make her feel at home. The friendly personal service offered by the owner is uncommon these days and much appreciated. I would highly recommend this company and their products for our pets who truly deserve the best! ??

5900 W Slaughter Ln #480, AustinThis is the place to get high quality dog and cat food locally. The product selections are more limited for cats but still has lots of food choices. I came in looking for cat toothpaste and it was all for dogs. So that's an uncommon product and they also didn't have cat harnesses. Aside from that, the staff is friendly and helpful and the store is well organized and clean. I brought a bunch of stuff over to donate. Tomlinson's collects donations and takes them to a few shelters accordingly. I've donated a bunch to APA and wanted to also donate to a smaller cat shelter. So this was ideal and convenient to come shop and drop off stuff to donate to a local cat shelter.

It’s also something we’ll be keeping in check for my dog’s entire life. Because of that, I’m grateful for an amazing team to work with.My dog is always so excited when he walks in here, which speaks levels due to the amount of biopsies and other treatments he’s had!We always receive a thorough write up after appointments, and I appreciate that they also send that to our regular vet as well so his medical chart is complete.

Austin Urban Veterinary Center
710 W 5th St, AustinEveryone here is super sweet and nice, and made my boyfriend, our kitty, and me feel very welcome. They explained what they were doing and why, and everything was quick, easy and professional! Our cat was spoiled on the exam table with treats and had a great time. They didn't, however, tell us anything about cost while we were there. I paid the $75 deposit for the exam, and when we showed up they gave our cat a vaccination and gave us a cup for a poop sample to bring back and sent us on our way, no mention of cost. So I just assumed that the $75 was for everything. The next day I got an invoice for $120, and was very alarmed. My boyfriend and I are not the most well off, so I called and asked if I could have a receipt because I didn't know what any of it was for. The nice lady that answered told me that $40 was for the vaccine and $80 was for the poop cup. I said I had no idea and wouldn't have taken the poop cup if I known. Luckily she got it taken care of quick and taken off the bill, but I still found it very strange that I wasn't told any of that during the exam, or told that I had an option.I'll be returning but I'll definitely double check everything next time!

Pet Sitting & Training
Dog Training Elite Austin
7000 N Mopac Expy Suite 200, AustinAfter months of attempting different forms of training for our 7 month old Golden Retriever, Molson - my partner and I both felt we had reached our wits end with the constant biting, pulling and jumping. We were told by other programs he was just stubborn and defiant and that couldn’t be changed. I was constantly scouring the internet for any advice on training dogs with similar personalities, but always ended up completely hopeless. After a referral from a friend, we got in touch with Dog Training Elite (Donny) and from the first visit, we immediately saw a change in his demeanor. After fives weeks, we’ve been absolutely blown away by the progress he’s been able to make. Molson now confidently walks on and off leash by our side, plays with other dogs/people and we’ve been able to build trust that has allowed him to truly be a dog. We cannot thank Donny enough for his dedication to Molson and the confidence he’s brought us in training, it’s truly been invaluable.

2211 W N Loop Blvd, AustinWe absolutely LOVE Game Time Dog Services. I was looking for a locally owned operated dog walking/pet sitting service a couple of years ago and we are so lucky to have found GT. It started with dog walks to keep our elder dog moving on schedule during the week when I returned to the office. But as he's aged we've found we can no longer board him when we are out of town without him experiencing extreme stress. GT to the rescue! He's so well cared for, happy, and healthy when we return from travel. He's got so many particularities in his old age and GT caregivers are so diligent through it all. Our family grew as a stray kitten showed up at our house and is now a full time house cat. GT even cares for our cat when we are away. He even gets some extra loving when caregivers drop by for our dog's walk during the week.

ITS SUCH A DIFFICULT THING TO GO THROUGH AND SHE MADE IT SMOOTH AND LOVING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I USED FOND MEMORIES AND I RETURNED BECAUSE OF HOW WELL THE FIRST MEMORIES TURNED OUT, BUT I WENT THROUGH MY VET THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH SABRINA. IF YOU EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS, YOU WANT TO DO IT WITH HER AND YOU WANT TO DO IT WITH FOND MEMORIES.

Red Bud Isle
3401 Redbud Trail, AustinOne of the most magical outdoor areas in Austin and definitely a plus if you're a dog lover! Red Bud isle is perfectly positioned between the dam and the upper end of Town Lake. You can even launched a little raft or a kayak here or enjoy a walk along the shoreline. Parking is very easy and convenient. You will definitely meet a lot of cool locals here that just need a little escape from the City. Lots of shoreline areas because it is a Island but a lot of town like you can't get right next to the shore like you can't here. It's also a little bit more out of the way and less known by tourists. It's also really nice that there are so many cool restaurants next door for your Tex-Mex needs.... And my favorite is always Hula Hut ???

2900 W. Anderson Lane, C-200 #304, AustinLove-A-Bull is a wonderful rescue and advocacy group!! It's an incredibly welcoming group, full of the best people! I fell in love with Love-A-Bulls mission and the work they are doing to improve the lives and images of pitbull type dogs. If you are looking to adopt, Love-A-Bull has so many amazing dogs, and always prioritizes match-making, finding a dog that works for your whole family! Volunteering with Love-A-Bull has truly been life changing for me and I would recommend this organization to anyone interested in volunteering, fostering, or adopting!

Neighbors Dog Park & Cafe
5609 S Congress Ave #220, AustinI came in for a day pass but couldn’t stay because I didn’t have my vet records but I loved the boho vibe with the gorgeous house plants and super sweet baristas. I’m definitely coming back. I got to chat with Ry, she seems fun! I like that she keeps the pools clean for the dogs. There was also another girl outside I didn’t get a chance to chat with but can’t wait to come back more prepared next time!

Austin Animal Center
7201 Levander Loop Bldg A, AustinI turned in an application to get a small puppy from Austin Animal Center. The rep showed me an adorable cute puppy that I fell in love with and we bonded. She told me that I could have him and told me to come back to pick him up 3 days later. When I arrived a different rep helped me and asked me to get the puppies pen number. When I returned with the pen number, she told me that I could not have the puppy. I asked, "why?" She said because I didn't have transportation and her supervisor agreed with this decision. I lived with the anticipation of owning this new puppy those past few days and my dream was shattered right before my eyes. I cried and asked the supervisor, "please let me have this puppy." She replied, "no." She was so cold and mean in her actions. She had no heart whatsoever. I forgot to bring my phone so I asked them to call to get me a ride home. I offered my credit card to pay for the ride. They refused but let me barrow their phone to call a cab to go home. Does that make sense? I was a supporter of Austin Academy for over 40 years and I asked them, "is it such a crime to forget my phone?" I registered a complaint with 311 and found out that I was complaining to a different person at Austin Animal Center. It did NO GOOD whatsoever. I left with the decision that they are the cruelest bunch of people and I will NEVER set foot in their place again. I am a GOOD KIND DOG OWNER AND THEY CAN'T TELL ME THAT I'M NOT. They made NO apologies whatsoever and left me with a broken . This happened on Saturday June 24, 2023 and I still feel the pain like it happened to me yesterday. They just didn't care. ALL people that I told about this said that Austin Animal Center was wrong for making this decision.
