“This place is AWESOME! I blew out my front right tire this morning and was ready to just drop the $1,000 at discount tire. My boyfriend recommended poor man’s tire and I am SO HAPPY I WENT!! The prices are SUPER cheap (like mind boggling). They sell used, and brand new tires. I was able to get a set of 4, brand new Bridgestone OEM, 17 inch run flats for only $670 after tax. Had I gone to discount tire that would have cost me $1,000 (+) and any installation cost.I have an Nissan Rogue SV, and the owner was very good at explaining the differences between tires and what each had to offer. He gave me all the options and did not try to up-sell me. I made that choice to get the nicer tires, and it didn’t hurt my wallet.If you have any tire needs I HIGHLY recommend this place. The guy who owns it is very nice and friendly. They have a cute little waiting room with a TV and they take care of you fast. PLUS, you are supporting a locally owned small business. “Yesterday I received a message from my daughter who is a Baylor student, stating that the break fluid is low on her car and it says it is dangerous to drive. I call all the well known places and they basically gas light me with all the worst case scenarios. I googled places closer to the school and found Fred's. I called him and he was so calming and reasonable. He explained it was probably just under the sensor. But to drive slow and cautiously and he would be waiting for the girls to show up. I asked him to call me when he did his assessment so I could take care of any decisions and the bill. about 30 minutes later the girls called me and said that he was there waiting as he stated and he immediately began looking at the car, put some break fluid in it and sent them on their way. He never called me to ask for money or even to receive a thank you. How do I repay that kind of kindness. There were so many ways he could have taken advantage. I was panicked and would have paid anything because there was no way for me to know any different. If you have a Baylor student and you are worried about where to send your kids for auto repairs, this is your guy. I hope my story helps in your decision. I went from my heart beating out of chest to very calm and no problem at all within about 30 minutes. It was an intense moment and I will never forget the kindness this man showed to my baby girl. I believe they have made him a little gift and is taking It back to him. We moved here in 2020 and with the first month I had a flat tire I had seen them in “Locals Love Us”, and they were close by, so off I went.When it was time for new tires I chose Oscar’s, because I believe in supporting local and small business. I was shocked when I found out that they have road damage warranty like the Big Box guys, and that they even had credit options. They are part of the Tire Pros and I can get service for emergencies even when I am not around Waco!They are great and really feel like a part of the community, not just IN the community. Starting with my initial call to set up an appointment, to bringing my car in, to walking out with my keys in my hand after my car was repaired. James and Shawn were courteous and friendly. They communicated with me and updated me as my car was being worked on. The waiting room was comfortable, and complimentary drinks and snacks were available. When I was invited into the garage to show me my car’s mechanical issue, I marveled at the cleanliness of an area that, in many mechanic shops, are oil stained and cluttered. “I took my 2002 Chevy Duramax there for what I had initially thought was a nasty rattling noise coming from my Cp3 . They diagnosed it that same day and told me it was my vacuum pump, gave me a fair price and had my truck ready and back on the road by noon the following day. Ricky was my mechanic. He was very thorough and pointed out a few other things my truck would be needing soon.I am always very weary about other people touching my truck. And I am new to the area so I didn't really know anyone to give me referrals. But I'm glad I chose this shop and I'll be returning to them when my truck inevitably needs something else fixed lol.
