“It's been a couple years since I went to this location and I absolutely love this store. I love the intimacy of the store and I like how everything is arranged. There is a wonderful selection of clothes for women as well as jewelry items and purses. The person that is there is a very sweet gentleman. He is very friendly. I managed to get a few great pieces from this particular store and will continue to get more later.”

“I love this thrift store I found it a few years back and have came almost every other day into it ! I got used to seeing all the employees there and having conversations we grew closer as friends and it’s so sad to learn they will be closing down this shop. They had everything here at very affordable prices wish there was a way to keep them open. I’m gonna miss this place & every one who worked there so much!”

“I found WHAM while driving to the GW on the I-10. I've been there twice now, and found some interesting items. Their prices are fair and they have a constant rotation of goods and 50% off sales on different categories. Cashier and staff are very nice. The only thing I wish they'd do was open a dressing room, since you can't try on clothes and all sales are final. However, for $4 for a shirt or sweater or pants, you can't really complain too much. Their clothing does seem rather boutique and you can find some brand name clothes for a steal. They have a large selection of books ($1.50-$3) and smaller selection of CDs ($1.50), DVDs, and some games. You can also donate and feel like you know where the money is going.”

“Went on Sunday dec 3 and store was very tidy and clean as could be. It is a treasure hunt to find what you want that might be in your size. They do try to categorize things in women’s men, boys and children but of course everything gets mixed up. Sometimes it’s hard to find two shoes that match but overall I love going to the family thrift outlet. Specially, when it’s dollar 1.50 day or dollar day.. I don’t live in Houston anymore so it’s a rare occasion when I get to go to family thrift outlet these days. Maybe you should open the location in Matagorda county. There are no good thrift stores like family thrift outlet in Matagorda county.”

“The staff at Anawim are the greatest! We accidentally locked our keys in our truck, and they bent over backward to help us find a solution. Also, their prices are amazing! Best thrift store in Houston!”

“My wife found some clothes for her and our grandbaby. Even found the grandbaby a three wheeled toy that looks like a baby giraffe, she can sit on it and push it around....when she's older, great deal. I found a few books and so did my wife. The people working here are super friendly. The proceeds go to Fort Bend's Women's Center....a worthy cause. Our next bag of donates are going here.”

“AMAZING!! Sarah not only curates great finds, but is so friendly in chatting with you as you look around. I'm loving the decorative pieces I've found and will definitely be returning to see what else is available. The holiday finds are SO cute, I can't wait to bring my little cousins over to browse the Halloween (costume) selection soon!”

“Stopped in with my kiddos for some everyday clothing. I was happily surprised by the selection--lots of good brands in good condition. The book section had a lot of great books. It looked like there was lots of interesting houseware items, but we didn't have time to look around. It wasn't busy either, which was nice for a Saturday.”

“Wonderful experience. Took my students here for skill day. It was an amazing experience for them to learn how to pick out clothes and just to have that work experience.”

“Found what I was looking for, wasn't in perfect condition and had to pay a premium price since it was broken. However it was what we needed for a fifth the price of new, the employees were polite. Still the line was Long, parking was horrible- and I would pay full price to avoid the parking and line again. Since we are not from Houston, and in fact from a rather small town I won't count that against the store. Store was cleanEmployees polite Most prices very reasonable”

“I love this store, I only visit when it's the 50% off everything. There are some things that are overpriced, but if it's too much, keep looking. If it has a snag or you notice something, let the associate know, they may lower the price ? if it's something simple you can fix, get it! Nice clothes overall. I'm no longer interested in malls. Thrifting is it!”

They will also help you find a job, obtain health insurance, and receive substance abuse treatment.Due to COVID-19 they are currently not taking new clients but will be assisting the community again within the coming months.Good luck out there. Stay safe. Stay compassionate. Stay strong.”

“New Houston favorite! This fun and chill shop was a total blast to comb through. Huge fan of recycling fashion as it is one of the world’s largest polluters. A ton of gems packed into this tiny shop of well curated of women and men’s clothes, shoes, jackets, and purses. From greeting to purchase all the staff were engaging and helpful. I absolutely love it when shopkeepers take pride in their space and products. Easy to read tags, clean shop, lots of clean dressing rooms, beautifully executed displays, and well merchandised shelves. Nicely done Julian G, Aiden, Jordy, Nyne, and Julian A! I will definitely be back again soon! Bravo!”

“I donate to this store and shop at it as well. Their mix is always changing and there are a lot of cool items to buy in the store. And your purchases help support Habitat for Humanity! What more do you need?”

“1. Great place that takes care of the community. Got excellent clothes for kids when I was in a pinch.2. Others who comment it's expensive... Compared to what? Retail? What do you expect?3. Lastly, the comment about racism... You clearly have not worked in this neighborhood. People with backpacks march into a store, load them up with merchandise and PARADE out with PRIDE. If people come to steal on the regular, unfortunately, the manager must guard the goods as his own whole he is there. That's his job. Anyone searching for signs of "racism" is sure to find it.”

“For those of us who were around back when Goodwill used to sell clothing items for a dollar sometimes less and it was an actual value. This is like taking a step back in time to win thrift store actually meant thrift. These days you go into a donation-based resale shop and sometimes you’re paying more than the item cost originally brand new. Nothing seems to be affordable anymore. I found value Village through an online ad advertising shirts for $.99 one day. Of course I clicked on the click bait and went down the rabbit hole that is value Village.I read reviews checked out franchise information, even when is far as to watching YouTube videos from other shoppers head shop there. It’s not anywhere close to my house so before I wouldn’t trust all the way to the other side of town in my car that likes to break down on me for no good reason, I wanted to be sure at this place with worth my time.I am happy to report it very much was. They had so many great flash sales going on in there and the quality of the items was way higher than I expected it to be. I would like to know where their income goes to. Is it all just a corporate thing or do they donate to local charities? If anyone knows the answer this please let me know. I like shopping places where my money is going to better the community and the world around us.”

“Look out for a volunteer named Neal! He is very rude and acts as though people being inside the shop is an inconvenience. He yelled at everyone in his line (including us), and also at his coworkers when multiple came up to offer him help. Otherwise, this is an incredible shop with great deals. I love coming all the time!”

“I love coming here for home decor and furniture. Great prices (on most) and easy to shop (spacious, organized). Clothing is priced a bit high for resale…but the Blue Bird Circle is a wonderful organization that donates its profits to research in pediatric neurology so I’m happy to spend my money there! You have to be patient though…almost everyone is a volunteer and they like to move at their own pace!”

“I came today and left with all leather goods. I haven't been here in years. Everything was waiting for me. The purses were mostly pleather though. I didn't see any dressing rooms. The area is not the best but I wanted vintage 70s leather goods and found them. Winning.”

“I always go there I always find something cool but i don't go for something specific like a certain book or peice of furniture it's more like I came for something leaving whit something else”

“My mom went today and witnessed someone leave donations plus a donation of bread. They put the bread in the back and when my mom asked a worker could she have some bread the worker stated, oh no she brought that for me... Not right, 4 stars because in the past manager is very friendly and will work with the customers.”

“Maybe I got lucky based on the reviews, but the hours were clearly labeled on a big sign on the door. 8a-8p weekdays and closes early at 6p weekends. The two guys working were really nice. Even came out to help carry my stuff inside.”

“Ok story of my Rodeo outfit, I thrifted a pair of Justin boots at one of the goodwill stores. I found them for 35 and before goodwill, I tried searching for the perfect pair of cowboy boots. I went to a western store caviender and they wanted 200 for the brand Justin's men cowboy boot. The cowboy boot i found from goodwill for 35 was made for me when I tried it on. Next mission i needed a blue coat to go with my boots, because it has navy, dark, blue stitching on it. Now onto this family thrift store. . I came here to shop because it was a drive by and I seen it read family thirst store. So I went inside and it's huge. I went to the shoe section didn't find anything. Went to the home good section didn't find anything. Then went to the sports coat section and boom found this perfect royal blue sports coat to go with the thrifted white button up shirt I found at the goodwill outlet. This blue sports coat was only 7.57 and I was so excited!!!! When I tried it on, it was so fitted! Like it was made for me and it's made in Mexico and a Mexican brand! . So before coming to this store there is a goodwill outlet. Difference between a goodwill outlet is they have bins you have to search and find things. I found my size of jeans, they are stretchy, and fit my leg length! I'm stunned on the fitting! Then I found 2 button up shirts too at the outlet! One is brand new white button up for the more elegant sophisticated look! The other shirt is a stripe and blue color and is Ralph Lauren! So I am soooo excited to wear this around to take some pics and a good texas steak house dinner! . Oh and top of that I thrifted a cowboy hat too at the outlet! Screams with excitement! . So this family thrift store is awesome. It's clean and organized and decent pricing depending what you find. Parking is easy and located in a shopping plaza. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading! Have a yelptastic day!”
