Kinokuniya Austin is a fantastic bookstore and a gem for Japanese culture enthusiasts. It boasts an unmatched selection of imported goods, including probably the best manga selection in Austin, along with imported magazines, art books, and Asian literature of all kinds. The store also offers a great selection of anime merchandise, very cute collectibles from anime and Studio Ghibli, and a pretty sweet Gundam shelf. It is a heaven for stationary, with great pens, crafting supplies, and one of the largest arrays of fountain pens. The atmosphere is fantastic and immersive. The staff are chill and helpful, able to order items upon request. While some items can be marked up, it is consistent with other retailers. Located in a large center with restaurants and other stores, it is a solid place to visit and explore.

They have a wonderful selection, though, with the sheer amount of series they have, there will always be some volumes out of stock or missing, since it is always extremely crowded. Sadly, this location, unlike others doesn't take cash
