“Casual shopper. Staff is friendly and excellent. Price is very affordable. You won't believe how many people I see day in and day out trying to bargain off a $1 item and how many stupid arguments people can get into the staff had they just simply follow their policy like taking furniture through the side door instead of the front while I'm over here in the back minding my business trying to shop. I found 4 nice jeans if I can get them in my size all for $20.”

“This is one of the best thrift stores I have found. The prices are reasonable for those shopping on a tight budget. They have a good costume jewelry selection. Unfortunately most of it is beyond the reach of wheelchair users. Great selections of clothing, toys, and such.”

This home town shop is what thrift stores are supposed to be. Do not miss out on going here if you're in Chattanooga! They had a great selection of items. “Ms. Yevola Green was extremely helpful and especially in our time of need. We had an emergency arise where we needed a dishwasher quickly and Ms. Green and her management team assured us the item would arrive in a timely fashion, and it did! They also communicated well and gave clear instructions on how to pick up our dishwasher and bunk bed we ordered. Making this process seamless for us. Thank you all so much! I wish you all were remaining in business.”

These people are like family to me, they always welcomed me with a smile and kind words. It really is the best thrift store in Chattanooga. They went up on their prices, but you are still getting a gooddeal. The quality is great, and they're very fair. I love this place! I would like to keep it a secret but the cats outta the bag, so enjoy. They do great things, Thank you NNH!”

“Small thrift store with amazing staff. Just a head’s up - check the store hours before you go. Hours and days are limited. I know other reviewers mentioned only being able to use cash or checks. They recently started accepting Venmo. I have found something cool in there every time I visit- especially in the housewares and linens. The half price sales run regularly and are my fave time to shop!”

“On my way to work one brisk December morning, I realized I left my work shirt (black polo) at home! Frantic, I called Providence at 8:20 am (store opens at 9am, same time I had my first client appointment) and in hopes of asking if I might be allowed to make a purchase before my first client…A kind man obliged and let me buy a shirt 15 minutes before opening! ABSOLUTE SAVIOR of the day! Eternally grateful to the kind gentlemen who assisted me… he even went as far as to pre-browse the shirts before I arrived and picked out a selection for me to look through!!20/10 customer service today!!!! Blessings!!!”

“I stopped in this location on 1/30, and had a great experience . The store was full of great deals and very well organized, discounts were posted clearly and the staff was great. I plan to stop in again when I visit the area in May.”

“Becca always has the friendliest smile and attitude. She is our favorite checkout employee of all. We always enjoy shopping at the Hixson Goodwill because of the great employees. We do find that the prices have gotten completely out of hand though. We have been shopping at this location for several years and the prices increase is insane. Yes we understand that a large percentage of the profit goes back into the organization, however, the items are donated!!! We have found so many items that are 80 - 90 percent of retail. I think you tend to forget, these are used items and not new. We saw two matching pieces of furniture. Obviously they went together. One was 59.99, the other one was 79.99! ??? I actually found an item at Home Depot cheaper than the used item on your shelf!!!”

“Review: Chattanooga Goodwill – A Hidden Gem Just Off I-75

On a recent interstate trip, I made a quick stop at the Chattanooga Goodwill, and I have to say—it was one of the best thrift stops of the entire journey.

First off, this store is clean, spacious, and well-organized, which is always a win when it comes to thrift shopping. The inventory was solid, with a good mix of clothing, books, and household goods, all at reasonable prices. The staff was helpful and friendly, which added to the overall positive experience.

Beyond the usual 50% off color tag sale, they also had a $1.29 special on anything with a color tag, which made for some even better finds. I managed to pick up a few books and a nice pair of pants, and I easily could have grabbed more if my car hadn’t already been packed to the brim.

Location-wise, this spot is super convenient—just minutes off I-75, with an easy-on, easy-off setup. If you’re passing through Chattanooga and need a quick thrifting fix, this one is definitely worth a stop.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars – great selection, solid deals, and a well-kept store. The only thing holding me back from a full five stars is that I didn’t have more room in m”
