“Had my 1996 Land Cruiser towed in due to a heater hose rupturing. I specifically asked (through text) for a quote to test the existing coolant and replace the heater hose; that was it. I was told I would be in good hands since they had a Master Toyota and Master Lexus Tech on staff, and that I would get a call the next day after inspection.
This excited me since I had later plans for the heirloom vehicle I recently acquired.
I received a call two days later saying they were done with the hose repair and replaced the coolant due to total loss of fluid. They gave me an invoiced price for these repairs (which was totally reasonable) but then proceeded to say that “Due to the age and mileage of the vehicle, and the potential for unforeseen issues, we are unwilling to proceed with additional repairs.”
This is a 28 y/o vehicle with 321k miles. Everything works and is comparably in better shape than most. It is daily driven, I trust it, but unfortunately have to find a place more interested in performing general maintenance and repairs.
This rating is due to the service advisor not following my initial (typed) instructions, the lack of follow up the next day (as I was told) and the general distaste I now have for a local shop that I was looking forward to building a relationship with. Rick and Chris were professional, and I appreciate the work performed, but I guess this wasn’t their shop’s desired focus. If it was a case of potential warranty issues later on, then that could’ve been solved with an honest conversation.”

“I brought my 2007 BMW M5 in for a no start no crank issue. This problem had baffled 3 other shops. I was about ready to give up on the car. Up to that point I had spent over 3k trying to get the car repaired with the other shops and each time those guys wanted me to spend more money to try their next great idea to fix my car. I was at my wits end when a friend told me to trust him and try the shop he was using to maintain his E63 AMG, reluctantly I decided to give this one last go. When I took the car in I didn’t tell them of everything the other shops had already tried, I just told them the car wouldn’t start when I went to drive off from my office one day. I didn’t tell them that the starter, battery, CAS module had all been replaced at other shops with no luck. So I leave the car with them and expect to hear more disappointing news in a few weeks with a large bill…but that wasn’t the case! They called me the next day and told me the car was runnng and driving but they wanted to check if I’d like an oil service since it was close to time to do one. I couldn’t believe it, I actually asked them 3 time, “The 2007 M5? The black one?”
