“Great store with awesome employees. They are always willing to help. The store has great fresh fruit and vegetable options, but like most small stores the more health conscious options aren't available. If you sign up within the store you are sent with secret sales frequently.Only reason it gets 4, not 5 stars is the lack of healthier options (soy based products) and the layout of the store. If you aren't a seasoned pro you will walk off the pounds looking for your things.”

“I come for the sandwiches but always see other great items. Let me tell you they have THE BEST garlic bologna sandwiches (although their German bologna is just as good!). Sandwich line is typically long so plan to wait but it is so worth it. Just look around while you wait. I don't drink milk but my nephew says they have really good chocolate milk too! Warning there's a wait but once you taste the sandwiches you'll completely understand!”

“Best Mac and Cheese, Meat Loaf, and fried squash I've had anywhere. Even give my own mother's cooking a run for her money. I'm here for work and the service is amazing and they have always been respectful and made me feel welcome.”

“Built in 1949 and originally serving as a Post Office, the Historic Southside Market, LLC is located just beyond Clarksville in Southside. Though the market has served as multiple businesses throughout the years, from pool hall to general store, it has always been a staple of the Southside community, with the front porch serving as a great place for community conversations. The building was built from cinder blocks, (before that was a typical thing) and rough cut cedar, no milled 2x4’s.These days, you can still stop in for those everyday convenience items, and grab breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Realtor Wendi Potter and her parents, Del and Cindy Green, purchased the market in 2020 and brought new life to it. Del and Cindy live in Southside while Wendi lives in Cunningham with her family. They truly love their community and the support they receive from them.As for the food, we grabbed two hot and fresh pizzas while there as well as a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was perfectly seasoned and actually one of the best we’ve had. We also enjoyed a tasty Philly cheesesteak! People come from miles around to enjoy their affordable breakfast options, cheeseburgers, pizza, wings, and Phillies. We are going to have to make a trip back for breakfast and that chocolate cake! Baked by Del, you can get a huge slice equal to 1/6th of the cake for just $3.50!You’re welcome to pull up a seat inside, or eat at the picnic tables outside, or join the conversation on the Liars bench on the porch. The bench is almost as old as the building itself and gets it’s name from some of the tales spun over the years. They’ve recently added the Truth Tellers Pew on the other side of the porch if you wouldn’t want to be caught telling a lie. ?Warm weather brings a Farmer’s Market, hosted the first Saturday of every month from 8am-noon. Definitely head over and give them a follow on their socials to stay up to date on events and those tasty desserts! When you do take that scenic drive out to visit, be sure to let them know that LOCAL sent ya!”

“Very proud to call Maple Valley Rd Charlotte TN my new home. Long story short, today there was a random dog dropped off at DG Charlotte TWICE in the last few days. Pretty dog actually. The wonderful redheaded manager lady is awesome. While not only checking out the long line of customers, she tagged my FedEx box and told the story of the dog. A "Mr.Harris" was on his way for a leash. A few other customers chimed in on how they were helping. And another lady walked in smiling because she had got the pup in her truck. The entire time I was stressing out about the pup but my towns-people had it handled! Seriously...super proud of this DG, the manager, the guys n gals who have been working here, long hours during all this BS & shortages...and the folks who give a darn about pets, not just calling Animal Control. Well...not proud of the person who ditched the big pup....but hey...karma. To the folks reading this: please relax a bit. It's NOT the employee's fault the truck didn't come or the power went out. Life is too short to get mad at everything. Charlotte DG is our diamond in the ruff (get it? ruff?).”
