“At the suggestion of Krissy (?) at customer service I called the closest store to me when the warehouse was out of a size and color I was hoping for in an exchange. Thankfully this location had it in stock! The sweetest person answered and was extremely kind and helpful and I’m the worst and can’t remember her name- but she pulled my order, got me checked out quickly and efficiently. Better yet she estimated that my order might not arrive until Wednesday with the holiday- but she got it out so quickly that they arrived a day and half after I placed my order. Totally made my day!!! Thank you so much king st store! Looking forward to stopping in next time I’m in town. Y’all are the best!”

“Solid outdoor store. Probably on average a small bit more expensive than you can find online elsewhere, but the well laid out store with helpful staff and the ability to feel products before purchasing more than makes up for it.
IMO, some of the brands and models they carry are more fashion oriented and only B-tier for actual outdoor use. I sometimes have had to make compromises and get close models to what I was looking for, and my feeling is that those two things are related. Maybe that's just my personal brand preferences coming through. Don't know. I still very much like the store, and am usually pretty happy to check out what new outdoor toys they carry.”

“Amazing customer service from the staff today in store from Tyler and another dude with glasses whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch. Everyone seemed to care about their store, from the way they interacted with the customers and how organized and clean the sales floor was. A very pleasant change from the usual icy demeanor of a lot of the Downtown Charleston retail stores on the strip. 100% will be back for all my future vans needs. I also want to shout out Dylan for giving me very knowledgeable and kind service over the phone around a week prior to this and originally made me want to make the trip downtown to try out this location.”
“Stopped in on a whim and encountered a wonderland of bespoke clothing, accessories and home goods — one of the most unique stores I’ve ever been to in the South. The Astier de Villatte incense is to die for!”

Plus, Freebirds are fantastic shoes! Every pair I have ever purchased was comfortable straight out of the box. I don't normally wear heels, but I can walk downtown in my Freebirds without my feet hurting at the end of the day.

“Everyone is a welcome customer at M. Dumas. They offer a wide variety of men’s fashion at differing prices, and for this reason they welcome everyone as a potential customer. I’m only an occasional shopper but am always greeted with a warm greeting and genuine desire to help. The sales staff will leave you alone to explore or guide you to specific choices, it’s your call. This is what distinguishes M.Dumas for me - they welcome me as a customer, not knowing if I’m buying or not. I’m still their valued customer. Unlike two other men’s stores on King St. where upon entering I’m quickly assessed as an unlikely buyer therefore not worthy of attention, and sometimes not even a greeting. For this reason alone I’ll always be an M.Dumas buyer; they have great clothes but an even better attitude toward all their customers.”

“While strolling through Charleston City Market, I happened upon this awesome stall selling a plethora of sandals, wedges and other Summer styles of shoes. Imagine my surprise, since I needed sandals for the continuation of our trip down to Myrtle Beach. What caught my eye, in addition to the awesome sandals, was the statement they are MACHINE WASHABLE! I had never heard of any shoes being machine washable except canvas tennis shoes! After trying on my size and walking around a bit in an attempt to test them out, I purchased the pair below which were VERY comfortable even with my limited testing abilities. Included with my purchase was their card/website info, this way I can order other styles from the comfort of my home, after we return from the beach and can also see if they live up to their claims! I have my eye on several other styles, fingers crossed”

“Brannon is so helpful and kind! the clothes at this store are like new and they have very hard to find options for great prices. Normally I don’t buy used shoes but most of the shoes they carry appear to be like new. Fitted long sleeves and designer apparel. The store associate, Maggie, was fantastic and helped me decide on a few nice pieces. She directed me to the online shop should I change my mind about the ones I decided against, and informed me of their return policy. She even helped me with a stubborn zipper!”

“I am a diehard Anthro follower, and love purchasing from them. However, the downtown store is not the greatest. They never have much in stock, and when they actually do have some things in-store, they are usually ruined with makeup or crazy sizes. The staff is really welcoming and friendly, and the items they do have are sometimes good (hit or miss). Still a good experience, just not the best anthro experience I’ve had.”
