67 State St, Charleston“The Spectator Hotel is the epitome of elegance and luxury, yet feels like home, in the heart of Charleston's French Quarter. I chose this hotel due to its central location and top-tier reviews, but felt I should also include a review so all travelers can indulge in one of the best stays I've had in a while. From the moment I arrived, through the time I departed (4 nights), I was enveloped in an atmosphere of refinement and treated like a queen. My room was comfortable and impeccably clean, inclusive of the most luxurious amenities, and a lavishly-stocked mini-bar (complimentary and refilled daily). I rested so comfortably in soft bamboo bedding, enjoyed using my large sumptuous marble bathroom (all bath products included), and enjoyed the most scrumptious breakfasts that were delivered daily to my room (complimentary with your stay and upscale-- not at all a "regular" hotel breakfast as these were one of the highlights of my trip). The service here far exceeded my expectations. Every morning, Darrell greeted me with the kindest "Good morning!" as he delivered the breakfast tray to the room. I always chose an early delivery time and his daily greetings, paired with the delicious breakfasts, started my day off beautifully. This left a profound impact on me-- not many are as kind and helpful at that hour as everyone is at this hotel. Darrell is one of a kind. From the front desk staff, housekeepers, bartenders, and dining team-- to the concierge, butlers appointed to each room (truly "at your service"), and the hotel manager-- I could sing praises all day long of the world-class service received here.If hotel management reads this review, I hope they will ensure that the scrumptious cordials continue to be left for guests in each room during turn-down service, keep every item on the breakfast menu, and keep offering the drink on the bar menu that was serviced with coconut foam on top. I could not stop thinking of these past my stay! Delightful! One can also rent a bike to use around town, pick up a local paper daily, enjoy fresh fruit and chocolate when coming in/out of the property, ask for guidance on what there is to do in Charleston, et al, all compliments of the hotel.Needless to say, I will return! Highly recommend.”

205 Meeting St, Charleston“This hotel is obviously very nice in many ways. Absolutely beautiful building, very upscale shopping and dining, lovely rooms, and wonderful staff. Unfortunately, we are visiting during reconstruction and all day long we have to listen to the sound of heavy construction from our room on the 3rd floor. Hammering, drilling, maybe a jackhammer? It’ll calm down for an hour or so here and there, but basically from 8am to late afternoon it’s happening, which isn’t great when you’re trying to get a baby down for a nap.
I would say definitely stay at this hotel, but not until after spring of 2025 when renovations are completed.
Safety: Very safe location
Walkability: Everything is walkable from here, very nice location.”

Outstanding service, nice music, and romantic atmosphere. Feel like in Michelin Stars restaurant somewhere in Europe but American stile.

166 Church St, Charleston“An exceptional experience from start to finish! Our recent Leadership Conference at the French Quarter Inn/Spectator Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the ambiance was inviting, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The conference facilities were top-notch, providing everything we needed for a productive and successful event. The meeting rooms were spacious, well-equipped with modern technology, and maintained at the perfect temperature for comfort throughout the day.One standout feature was the impeccable catering service. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks were all provided with a diverse selection that catered to various dietary needs. The quality and presentation of the food were simply outstanding, receiving rave reviews from all attendees. My compliments to the chef and their team.Despite the rigorous schedule of all-day meetings, the staff ensured that our needs were met promptly and with a smile. Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction truly made a difference in our overall experience.Additionally, the hotel's accommodations were luxurious and provided a comfortable retreat after a long day of meetings. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and appointed with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay.Overall, our conference at the French Quarter Inn/Spectator Hotel was a resounding success, thanks in large part to the exceptional service and facilities provided by the hotel staff, but in particular Jessica Bowman, the Area Director, who I worked closely with to arrange everything and Lynn Maher who was our Banquet Captain & Events Manager. Both were extremely accommodating - no ask was too big. They handled my every request (and I had quite a few) with a quick response and a skilled efficiency. It was truly my pleasure to work with these ladies. I highly recommend this hotel for any conference or event and look forward to returning in the future.”
“Beautiful, quiet hotel! Rooms are nice and clean. The complimentary snacks and waters are a nice touch. The breakfasts are also complimentary with different options. The location is great. There were a few short comings. When we checked in we weren’t offered a welcome drink. We noticed others checking in the next day were. (not a big deal though just a minor detail).
However, the bartender one night turned us away at 9:55pm on a Friday and said they close at ten even though the front desk and website both say 11pm. The following day a different bartender wasn’t very friendly. That department needs some work. Besides that I would recommend the hotel if you aren’t a drinker and looking for a quiet place. We will probably try another place next visit.”
“Walking distance from shops and VERY modern amenities in the rooms! Nice people. Very helpful and with great senses of humor! (At least, they laughed at my jokes.)?”

19 Vendue Range, Charleston“The Vendue's location is its best point. It is close to the waterfront and water taxi, it is within 10 minutes of walking to many restaurants. We stayed at the Enclave portion of the Vendue.
The entrance has two steps and the hotel has no elevator. Keep that in mind if you have mobility limitations. The rooms are attractive, but have no furniture that can be moved. In particular, I wish there was a chair or even better an arm chair, where one could relax. There is no table for breakfast, and no chair with a back. I had to request a shower chair to have a place I could sit or dry myself off. The morning breakfast was not what I expected. Each morning there was a bag with muffins on my door handle, the same option for the five days we stayed here. Some days the coffee was not refilled, some days the sugar was not refilled, another day hand towels were not given. This was all fixed with a phone calls to housekeeping, but I would have preferred not to have to make the calls. The hotel is located in a noisy area, there were ravving motorcycles and people talking. Earplugs were very helpful. The staff was very helpful, and overall we enjoyed our stay.”

27 George St, Charleston“Great historic bed and breakfast in Charleston's Historic District.Super nice attentive staffTop breakfast and a small snack from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a glass of white wine, all included in the price.100% recommendedRooms: Antique furnishings, of course, the floor creaks, for some this may be a defect, but anyone who has ever lived in an old house knows thisWalkability: The whole of Charleston is practically within walking distance. Our car remained in the parking lot until departure ($12.50 per night)Food & drinks: Super great breakfast”

425 Meeting St, Charleston“Nice place your best to use Valet parking. Not in the hustle and bustle of the peninsula, but put close enough to walk. King street with all the shops one block away. Rooms are smaller, pool is awesome, gym is nice. But with the rate you pay breakfast should be included or half price in the restaurant. All in all I would go back.
Walkability: King street one block away tons of nice shops restaurants and Cafés.”

75 Wentworth St, Charleston“The location of this hotel can't be beat, it is close enough to King street to be in the heart of the city, but far enough down the block to avoid the street noise. The rooms were large and lovely, with small kitchenettes. We appreciated the breakfast baskets every morning as well. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but the lobby, coffeeshop and rooftop restaurant all looked great.”

173 Meeting St, Charleston“This is a great place to stay. It’s walkable to all the tourist spots and to great restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. The valet parking is reasonably priced and convenient. The hot tub is large and was always clean. We used it at night, around 9, and there were not towels but we got extra bath towels from housekeeping to use. The only issue we had was with a/c. We had a room with 2 double beds, and the air hit against the side of the bed. We ended up pushing the beds further from the unit and it cooled the room nicely.”

“Best location in town, good rooms for the price but be prepared for unimpressive front desk staff and breakfast staff. Pour rooftop service and view makes up for what the ground floor is lacking.”

112 N Market St, Charleston“This hotel has an excellent location for walking around the city, a warm atmosphere, and outstanding service. I left something there and they shipped it back to me immediately. The front desk provision of a map and verbal tour of the city was also fantastic and helpful guidance.I didn’t go to the main restaurant but did try the coconut cake which is worth traveling for alone.”

225 E Bay St, Charleston“Awesome Bar with great eats! Fried Lobster, pictures attached, was amazing! Fried perfectly and the sauce and garnishments were a perfect complement to the dish. I went to three places for Old Fashioneds and apps, all were very good, but this place won the gold medal in both categories. The Bartender mixed up one of the better Old Fashioneds in Charleston. I cannot wait to get back here!”
“We enjoyed our stay...the rooms are nice and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful....here comes the "but". The pictures of the place at 171 Spring shows a porch with chairs and a swing. There is no porch. That's the house next door. My husband is disabled and we assumed the porch was a common area it's in the pictures on their page, but it belongs to the house next door. He didn't go everywhere I did because he can't walk far, he was looking forward to sitting outside on the porch when I wasn't there. Our grandson is a student at The Citadel and it's a great location to stay and go back and forth for events...about a mile away. We stayed in the pink room, one bedroom, kitchen and bath. For those who aren't fit or have a handicap, 19 steep steps lead you to your room. Our parking also was across the street behind a building with a VERY narrow driveway, building on one side fence on the other. My car buzzed my butt all the way through, about 6 inches on each side of my suv to spare! It is a nice place. I just wanted to add details that many may find important. One more detail, it's on the corner by a stop light at a very busy intersection.”

250 Spring St, Charleston“:Very special checkin. As i spproached the front desk i was greeted with a beautiful smile and a "May i help you"? Gave her my name and she immediately found my reservation and gave me a welcome speech. She is a 10+ and a great asset to this motel. Went to our room and opened the door to a large beautifully decorated room. Also the maids had done a marvelous job cleaning. The bed was comfortableHad a perfect night.”

170 Lockwood Dr, Charleston“Great place to stay but the rooms were run down and room smelled like hairspray. Furniture did not match. However the service they gave made up for the odd rooms. The bar on the 3rd floor was great but be prepared to spend top dollar for drinks. Lobby and restaurant was very clean and the food was decent. The area was great and there was a few rental bikes to use.Nearby activities: The AA ball park is in walking distance.Safety: The place felt safe. It was next to the police station.Walkability: Very easy to walk around town and if you rent a bike it is cheaper than a Uber.”

78 Queen St, Charleston“Perfect location. Lots of great food nearby, easy walk to all the interesting sights. Not a ton of frills but the service was cheerful and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. Next time we’re in Charleston we’re staying here.Rooms: If you like cookie cutter rooms this isn’t your style. It’s a historic building refurbished without a huge budget; the floors aren’t level and the walk-in closet wasn’t finished. Big room, though, and comfy bed.Nearby activities: The Charleston Market is a few blocks away. You’re really in the heart of things.Walkability: Incredibly walkable. Three great restaurants on the same block, a Target nearby for anything you forgot, etc.Food & drinks: No room service but coffee available in the morning and a wine and cheese table in the evenings.”

Rooms: Not luxurious but we're very comfortable
Nearby activities: Close to downtown close to French quarter 15 minute commute
Food & drinks: Piggly wiggly in A lot of good food in the strip mall beside Piggly wiggly
Noteworthy details: What's a pleasant experience and we'll go back again”
“One thing to keep in mind is that there's only valet parking on the property. It's about $50 per day. This is not a bad thing, as many hotels have this, just something to keep in mind that there isn't a self park area on the property.
We booked a two bedroom and two bathroom room. 4 adults were very comfortable. One minor issue is that the bedrooms get pretty warm even with the AC on. We just kept the bedroom doors open at night for airflow, but without it, it may get uncomfortable in the warmer months.
Overall, this was a really clean hotel located in a perfect location. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Rooms: Rooms were very open, had a full kitchen, small dining table for 6, sofa and chairs. Bedrooms were spacious each with it's own closet, dresser, two night stands, and it's own bathroom.”
