“I started going to Elite Gym back in August of 2023 after experiencing some major losses and life transitions. I was struggling a lot with motivation and accountability. As a former dancer, I felt like my body craved movement. But without regular dance practices and performances, I had no structure and didn't know where to begin. Every single person is so sweet and ready to jump in and help with a smile. The child watch is a game changer and the main reason I joined in the first place. Every teacher is a saint and an absolute joy. My girls love them and enjoy going to the gym “with” me. I get time for a good workout and relax and take my time before grabbing them and finishing our day. I can honestly say I’m in a better place thanks to the people here at Hockomock Area YMCA. “Great local gym, never too over crowded like some gyms can be at certain times. Super clean & always friendly. Location is great also with lots of other stuff nearby and bus stops right in front of gym if you don't happen to have a vehicle. This PF is fairly spacious compared to others I've been to as well. Locker rooms in particular were noticeably larger than any other PF I've been to, allowing a space to stretch in locker if feeling uneasy.”

“Good gym. Friendly & helpful staff. Been coming for a few weeks and I’m using it for bodybuilding style workouts but they have everything for lifting heavy and athletic training too and also personal trainers if thats your thing. I trained at Ocean State Gym before it closed, this ones got similar equipment and environment. Locker room could use a renovation but who’s really complaining. Good place whether you like to train hard or you’re new to exercising. I recommend coming here if you’re serious about lifting or starting a routine.”

“Been a member here since 2020. This is the honest truth:This is one of the best gyms in New England. Not just because of the equipment, the awesome artwork, the outdoor gym in the Spring - Fall, the jujitsu & boxing room with classes, Yoga on Sundays, powerlifting training for Special Olympics or even the amazing events Barbell 88 hosts year round to give back to the community. It’s one of the best gyms around because of the people here. Everybody in this gym is pushing eachother to get better. Everybody is friendly and comes in with the right mindset. It’s truly a place you can get in and get after it at any time of day, meet some new people and have an awesome training session. You genuinely will feel a part of this community from day 1. You can’t put a price on that kind of atmosphere.”
“significantly better than smithfield as requested by my last review for smithfield seems like corporate suggested i call and speak with the manager. the staff when i called were confused and did not even know when the manager will be available to discuss my concerns. Anyways johnston has been more than great. morning week staff is phenomenal personable and consistent which was my main concerns with smithfield. when the staff is good the gym is good they are what makes me inspired to come back. johnstons clean well organized and management super professional and on it! i’m happy dude.”

The expectation from the coaches is that you can meet the challenge, there's no judgement and they offer just the right amount of push to keep you going. The workouts are tough but energizing. They have ALL the equipment to keep workouts interesting. But honestly the coaches are so creative...they can rock your world without it. A great place to get your sweat on.”

He took me on a tour of the facility and provided all the information I needed to make an informed decision. The facility and equipment are first class. Brandon set me up with a seven day trial membership so I can be sure the gym works for me. His presentation was very informative and at no time was there any pressure to sign up for a membership.”
“Good for basketball and other indoor sports. They do need to pave the rest parking lot, it gets muddy and plenty of pot holes.Also, the entrance needs to be widened and drop off moved, to close to the road. The walk from the backlot needs to be paved, gets muddy”
