“The Waldorf was a great place. We had our 10 year high school reunion of West Scranton Class of 2013. Great food and a great experience. A great view of the Scranton skyline was one of the highlights, including a grand display of Christmas decorations and lights.”

“This is our go-to place when visiting family nearby. Always decorated for the holidays. Lobby and dining area clean as could be. Has a small gym with all the basics. Pool seems good, but we haven't used it. We wanted the hot tub, but our last 2 visits, it wasn't working. A little more expensive than a nearby hotel but worth it if you want to enjoy the hotel more than just a place to sleep.Rooms: Light and airyWalkability: Can walk to food and even some stores if you like a short walk. Not many sidewalks but all "across" the street.Food & drinks: Breakfast is plentiful and stays open a decent amount of time.”

“The owner of Newave Studios , Rashida, is an amazing woman. She is very welcoming, dedicated, and professional. She helped me by choreographing a phenomenal dance for my wedding. I came to her only one month before the wedding with zero to none dancing experience nor any dancing skills, and she was willing to help even so. We met several times to practice even on weekends. We even practiced on the dance floor at the reception so that we can make sure the steps will fit in perfectly. She is a great teacher and even a better and wonderful friend.”

“We watched Rocky Horror Picture Show which was accompanied by a live performance by a shadow cast.The cast was also interactive and had throw bags for sale for using during the movie.Thanks to a neighboring car, we didn't have to use our own radio since they projected the sound for everyone, but be aware that you will have to tune a radio to the frequency of the theater in order to hear the audio.From the second row from the screen, it was not possible to see the actors, but the screen and picture quality was great! Overall, it was a fun and new experience.There was a portapotty on site and a small snack shack. We brought our own movie snacks and drinks and many people brought lawn chairs and sat outside.”

“We had our wedding at The Scranton Cultural Center last weekend. This venue was an easy choice based on the beauty and history. We were beyond pleased with the staff throughout the night. Accommodating, friendly, and fun! Karen helped guide our bridal party throughout the night and she very quickly felt like one of our wedding guests, looking out for us and making the night the absolute best for us. Organized and personable! The bar tenders were also just the best! Making lovely drinks, looking out for the bride and groom and SO kind. A number one choice for venue for sure!”

“We recently hosted our October 2023 wedding at POSH, and there is no doubt in our mind that we chose the right venue.Josh (the owner, and on-site event coordinator) made the planning process seamless. His years of experience in hosting weddings and other large-scale events were evident as he guided us through the event logistics. Josh is very easy to work with, accommodating, reasonable, and organized.On the day of the event, Josh and his team were great to work with. They were attentive to every detail and handled everything that came up last-minute (there’s always something!).We got many compliments from our guests on the food, the beauty of the building, and the waitstaff. The appetizers were wonderful, the dinner was delicious, the space allowed for great pictures, and the waitstaff worked in teams like you find in fancy restaurants. “Five Stars All Around! I had an exceptional stay at the Holiday Inn Dunmore this past weekend while visiting family for a 40th birthday party and I couldn’t haven been more pleased with our stay! The property was spotless, the staff extremely friendly, professional and so very accommodating - from the housekeeper who helped assist me with a lamp, to the cheerful young woman at the front desk to the efficient and pleasant waitress in the dining room - it was evident how much these employees enjoyed their jobs. How rare these days! After a comfortable night’s sleep, we were treated to a delicious, hot breakfast (also included in our rate!) that looked as good as it tasted! Festive yet classy decorations adorned the lobby and throughout the hotel helping to put the spirit of the season in us. I am thrilled to have discovered this property as it will definitely be my “go to” location when I plan my future overnight visit to NEPA!Food & drinks: Excellent Happy Hour and late night menu with a large and varied menu. Delicious Filet Oscar and yummy breakfast!”

“One of our favorite places to visit. A large, stone, manor house that makes me want to stand up straighter and spend time in each room. The view from the back of the house is stunning and the deck of the boathouse is a delightful place to spend an afternoon and the working merino sheep farm almost takes you back in time. The owners have put a lot into restoring the estate house and making it more comfortable. The bed we had could not have been more comfortable and the bed clothing was positively luxurious. We are looking for our next excuse to make the ten-hour drive to stay there!”
