I chose Betsy and Iya because I grew up in Portland and like to give small businesses a leg up when I can. Not only did the item arrive sooner than promised a few weeks ago, I just received a separate hand-written note of thanks from one of the staff. I 100% will be doing business with them again!”

“I ordered a backpack online and opted for an in-store pickup which worked out to be quick and efficient (not counting the downtown parking shenanigans, but that's not these folks' fault by any means). The backpack seems well made, quite spacious, and reasonably priced as these things go.”

“This is an excellent thrift store! The atmosphere and item curation are boutique-y, while the prices are very reasonable. When I was browsing it seemed like a majority of items are in the $10-20 range. It's also a wonderful nonprofit. I'll definitely be coming back!”
“This salon came recommended by my sister (a client), and so after moving to Portland I booked a haircut with Jazz -- on a Sunday, no less. She was super sweet and gave me a great cut. I was impressed at how careful she was to make sure that everything was exactly how I wanted. A consummate professional! After discovering that the salon now does color, I booked another appointment with Doyle for partial highlights (I'm trying to lighten my hair color gradually). He did an absolutely amazing job and my hair actually feels better than it did before, very healthy and natural looking. Doyle is a color expert, but also does cuts (he works at salons and fashion shows all over the world, not to mention significant charity work to empower individuals who have faced difficult life challenges). I highly recommend both Jazz and Doyle to anyone who is looking for a fantastic cut and/or color! (I'm sure everyone else at the salon is great, too, but my only experience has been with them, and I already have follow-up appointments booked!)”

To be able to walk into a store, pick a material, color and pattern for a custom pair of shorts that will fit me exactly...It is an amazing thing! “This is my favorite store in Portland! They recently moved to a new “forever home” space in the West End, a block from their original location, and it brings so much warmth and life back to downtown Portland. This store used to intimidate me - the type of place where everything was so pretty but seemed like nothing that would actually look good on me. But I was so surprised once I actually tried something on to find how approachable the clothes were and how good they made me feel in my body. Yes, you are throwing down $$$ for these items, but they are one of a kind and will last a lifetime. I get so many compliments every time I wear a piece from here - Rachel Comey is my favorite line they carry!”

“I just remembered this store. I love this place. I'm glad it's still around. You don't have any of those emo pants, do you? I never really cared for those. You know they were always too small for me and I really didn't like the low waist. Reminded me of women's pants. Anyway, I sure hope you still have sets of those vampire teeth. I need to get another set. My dog ate, my old set of, them ages ago. Will try to remember to call later. Then I can have you mail them to me, maybe? I sure hope you have those old picture frames. I’ve talked to many people about this store and the ONLY concern is carrying more size exclusive shirts! Not sure how that goes when you wholesale clothes for businesses but I think it’d make the boutique 1000% better being all size exclusive.”

When we stepped into Gucci, we were another world!!! But I must say we were very impressed by a young man his kindness and who was happy to answer our questions left us with a.good experience.....It was NOT a pretty women moment.... thank you it was great!!”
