“This little market is adorable and well organized! It has staples from Indian, Asian, & Middle Eastern cuisines from ground jaggery to halal yogurt. You can find sauces, spices, curries, candies... it's a nice variety and prices are about the same as what you might find at a decent sized international grocery market. It's very clean and the staff don't follow you around as you shop.”

“The prices are competitive, the fruits and vegetables fresh, and the wine selection is fantastic. They have cabernet franc at an incredible price and you can mix and match a six pack of beers and ciders. Parking is always easy there given the large lot.”

“First Alternative Natural Foods Co-op in Corvallis is one of the finest natural food stores, grocery stores, and Food Co-ops on the planet. I have been vegan 15 years and lived in CO, OR, CA, and now OR again. Davis has a great Co-op and Rainbow Grocery is great in San Francisco, but right here in Corvallis the Co-op sets the bar for every other place! I went here yesterday w/ my friend from out of town and in her rental car from my abode in Eugene. If I had a car I would frequent this place every week from Eugene and still plan to go here at least a month. The bulk section is giant. They have three kinds of hummus in bulk, vegenaise in bulk, and even daiya in bulk. Raw almond butter, several kinds of miso, and heaps of other amazing things in bulk. While Sundance in Eugene has a better hot and cold bar than here I feel that First Alternative sets the bar high from giving customers a bean to donate to 5 different local charities to using grey water to having amazing local organic sweet potatoes to 5 lbs of organic local potatoes to heaps of greens. This Co-op was featured in vegan body builder Robert Cheeke's documentary w/ Vega founder Brendan Brazier and performance artist Tonya Kay. If you are in OR you must check out: First Alternative in Corvallis, People's Co-op in Portland, Sundance in Eugene, and the Co-op in Ashland.”

“So in love with this place. Visited twice on our vacation and wish we had something like this in our part of the valley!Great value for healthy food, gluten free products, ingredients that are often hard to find in conventional stores. There's more than you would imagine possible in a small space. Feels like a discovery.”

“We are on the hunt for furikake because we were down to one container and my girls weren't a fan of it. We found so much more. Mochi in the refrigerator section and in a box. Lots of instant ramen and udon. Our favorite senbei is here too, and a different kind to try too. Cooked sticky rice for when I don't want to make a whole pot. My girls found some Ramune and other drinks to try. There's only one person to check out but that's okay, he's quick. There's a restaurant in the back that we want to try next time. We will definitely be back to buy more Yummyness. Yay!”

“Not a liquor store, but definitely still the best damn beer and wine store in the state. Incredible selection with helpful and friendly staff. Totally worth a stop if you’re in town and looking for some good, reasonably priced beer.”

“I stop here weekly after hiking with my dogs. They never fail to be friendly and have plenty of snacks and drinks for us. They also have discs if you are playing the disc golf course nearby!”

“The staff here is so kind and attentive. We have been shopping here for over 3 years and it’s always a pleasure coming in. The produce is great and I love their bulk section. Only thing is that I wish they took WIC benefits like the Co-Op does. :) Also, don’t buy the bees wax tubes for ears - it’s a scam! Lol! We learned the heard way BUT when the staff and I discussed it and I showed them, they gave me a full refund!”

“Grande surface généraliste, proche, diverses marques et un espace "pharmacie" (que je n'ai pas fréquenté).Fruits et légumes de fraîcheur variable, mais prix attractifs.Un rayon vins et bières qui est bien garni mais plutôt onéreux.L'affichage des prix peut dérouter car il y a une carte pour en profiter ; et je n'ai pas compris comment en bénéficier.De beaux stands de produits "cuisinés", un coin café/ repas.”

“Things have improved a lot over the last couple years since I left my first review, so I thought it would be fair to move them from 1 star to 4 stars. It's clean and they keep it stocked up. Can't ask for much more. Even the employees seem nicer, which tells me they had a horrible manager on staff around 2 years ago making people miserable.”

“Staff were all very considerate and polite, and the location of the store is very convenient for an OSU student. I was struggling to choose a wine for a beef bourguignon I was making, and Ginger was very helpful picking one out.”

“Great store, only problem is that since it's so small they don't carry all the things I need. Most of my stuff I can get here though, and it's clean, and the employees are always polite and friendly.”

“Had the best experience with my friend when we went here. The worker was so kind and made conversation with us. He asked if the drinks were to our liking and made sure we enjoyed them. Best Starbucks experience I’ve ever had, I believe his name was Joel. Overall great service and made my friend and I’s day.”

“HOW NICE ! We needed to gas up our SUV rental before driving from Corvallis to Portland Airport recently. A worker came out and filled up the beast for us. My wife explained that is the law in Oregon. Still cool !”

“I went to this Safeway a couple weeks ago and I was extremely impressed with the person who was working there. They seemed to be very short staffed. One single person, named James, was going back and forth from the sandwich station to the chicken station to the salad station. He was so positive and greeted everyone with a smile. If he is doing this every single day, I can't imagine why he is working here. I hope he is being compensated well for what he is doing. A worker like this is not easy to find, and I'm considering hiring him to my own company. I seriously need a worker like this.”
