“This was our first time in Detroit, and on our outing near the downtown area, I saw the church and was mesmerized by its beautiful exterior. So we walked a couple of blocks over and were able to walk in.
IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CHURCH! Very ornate. Fantastic stained glass high along the walls.
It's always great to visit 100+ year old churches. I hope to be able to visit again for a service.”

“The most beautiful church in Hamtramck (or even metro Detroit). Father Daniel is amazing, so friendly and down to earth. He is able to do mass and wedding ceremonies in English and Ukrainian.”

“We loved having our ceremony at Ste. Anne's. We had our own priest that we wanted to marry us and they were off the bat very accommodating to that. Yuliana and Norma helped us with all the marriage certificate, readings, and rehearsal stuff. Everything ran so smoothly because of their help! The church itself was a beautiful venue and so many of our guests (even those who are not practicing Catholics) had so many great things to say about the venue and the mass. It was a beautiful marriage celebration and we are so happy that we had it at Ste. Anne's!”

“Beautiful historic church. Please support if you can. Archdiocese should do something to help preserve this church, shame on them. Kept open because of parishioners who love and care about this church and do whatever they can to raise funds. God bless them and St.Albertus.”

“If you allow yourself to be in a crowd that is very angry, or filled with craving, you will consume that energy in the collective consciousness, and you will hurt yourself. That is why environment is another kind of food. As a society, we have to create the kind of environment that can help provide us with the wholesome energy of hope, peace and insight, such as the Detroit Zen temple has done.”

“Always beautiful. Lovely people. Fr.Greg and church staff are amazing. Lots of neat things going on by volunteers to help the church. Many things are needed, especially a new roof and stained glass window repairs. Please donate if you can, or just come and worship.”

“Where heaven meets earth! A most beautiful Holy Roman Catholic Church. If you are looking for a Catholic Church that doesn't have a concert band with drums and guitars blasting away during Holy Mass or a bunch of irreverent chatter-box parishioners having social hour before mass begins Assumption Grotto is a Church you will be happy you attended. The Holy reverence before, during and after mass will allow you to pray without distractions; something that is lacking in so many Catholic Churches. There is also a communion rail and kneeling for the reception of our Lord in the Holy Eucharist!I highly recommend Assumption Grotto.”

“Words cannot describe the beauty of all the artwork in this church. The 10am Mass was a lot less attended than I would have thought. Music is heavenly. If there is a church near you with breathtaking artwork, especially if it is old or needs maintenance, consider financially supporting it.”

“Took 40 4th graders here on a field trip. To experience the last stop on the Underground Rail Road. The tour guide was amazing and tailored the tour to my kids age, and interest. It was very affordable and lasted about an hour and a half. No Areas are off limits and the my students sat in the room where slaved sat awaiting a boat ride to Canada to truly be fee. It was something very unique and moving for all of us. I highly recommend.”
