“I was fortunate enough to find Black Run Transmission when I was looking for someone to rebuild my Jeep XJ manual transmission. From my first conversation with Jake (the owner), I knew he was a person I could trust. I am a perfectionistic person who wants a lot of information before making any decision and was probably annoying to deal with. Despite this, Jake never rushed our conversation and spent a lot of time answering all my questions before I committed to hiring him or gave him a cent. His guidance was invaluable in helping me choose a way forward on my project. Black Run completed a flawless rebuild of that transmission while also being attentive to my concerns and always pleasant to deal with.

So, when I needed help with my square body Chevy project, I automatically knew that Jake would be the person who could best help me. He did not disappoint. He went above and beyond by tearing apart two existing transmissions I owned (a 2-wheel drive SM465 and a 4-wheel drive SM465) in order to determine if any parts from either transmission could be reused to make the transmission I needed (a 4-wheel drive SM465). This resulted in a huge cost savings as a significant number of parts were usable and drastically lowered the amount of money I had to spend on new parts. Here's the kicker... Jake did not charge me anything to tear these apart and evaluate all the components in each, a service for which I would have happily paid him. He insisted that this was just part of their service.

When I went to pick up the finished transmission, Heath (a technician who worked my case) took the time to give me advice on both installation and what leftover parts were worth saving for potential future use. I probably would have ended up getting rid of virtually everything since I don't have much storage space at home and do not have the expertise to know what to keep, so this was extremely helpful and a huge added value.
