“Big Spoon Roasters are my go-to connection for nut butters. The quality is superior. My cupboard is stocked with the fundamentals such as crunchy peanut and almond butter, to the delightful and unique combos such as peanut pecan, Fiji ginger, and pistachio almond, to name just few. I appreciate the creativity, care, and attention that is put into creating the nut butters. I also enjoy the periodic limited batch offerings such as the bourbon pecan and the Cowgirl cookie. I can't say enough good things about Big Spoon Roasters. Ultimately, you just need to try them for yourself. They are worth every penny.”

“Excellent and affordable resource for the community. Reasonable priced Halal meat. Lebanese bread. friendly and helpful staff. Located by the Pauli Murray historical landmark sign and one of the murals the one that’s on Carol Street. Sufficient parking I would say maybe 20 parking spots available there and if need be, there’s other parking lots available usually but I’ve never needed to use them.prayer rugs and other gifts and non-food items are also available.Was raised by a Jewish father and Christian mother am a letter day Pharisee, and a latter-day saint, both aspirational more than anything, but I also have great respect for and love for Islam, and have always felt supported and welcome here at this Halal market.”

“We came for the oxtails and stayed for the fresh fruits and veggies.Prices are awesome even in this economy. This is going to be our new grocery store. Just as a reference the large Oxtail plate is $12.99, small is $9.99. There is also a stew beef that is awesome too. This will be a new staple for us!!”

“This Harris Teeter was very similar to other ones. The produce section was much more fresh than the other ones I have been too. The shelves were a little bare but I did come late afternoon on a Sunday so that was expected. The parking lot can be a challenge during busy times. It was very hard to pull out of the parking lot and there were other cars coming from every direction.”

“Give me this Food Lion all day every day. Give me the chance to scoop up that 99(give or take)-seed-and-nut bread near the deli. Give me a knowing glance at the store manager who's elbow-deep in the cheese section like a boss. Give me all your hot sauces and cheap chicken thighs and HOLY SMOKES self-checkout (yes!!!). “The rotisserie chickens are the best all around than in any deli/bakery store in Durham in my opinion because they're very moist and delicious and I purchase at least two or three a week and if I don't be an early bird to buy them I got to wait until the next day to purchase them. And the ones that are cold may I add they are delicious also. You can't go wrong with those rotisserie chickens. That's a plus for me and a blessing for me to purchase them from that particular Food Lion among other items as well. The staff is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable A shout out to Ms. Jocine. She gives exceptional excellent customer service every time whether she's at the customer service desk or getting carts or cashiering or whatever her role is. I appreciate her pleasantness her smile. I only shop at 2 other Food Lion's stores in Durham and this happens to be the one in my neighborhood. Look forward to shopping there.”

“It’s an old country store that’s been around since the 60s so of course it’s kind of “set in its ways” but I guarantee you that it is a quick in and out if you need drinks or cigarettes or maybe a quick candy bar although the selection isn’t as grand as some of the commercial businesses as this is a family owned store and they have to outsource their own products-They used to sell gas back many years ago but from 18 wheelers pulling into the parking lot put so much pressure on the ground overtime that it caused problems with the gas tanks underground and they eventually had to be removed!Overall it’s a good little store! Friendly people that work there as well as the manager is a nice Mother!”

“I needed gluten free flatbread to make homemade pizza. I'm not familiar with GF bec it was for a guest. I approached the bread man who was stocking named Kevin. He was super nice and all he had was loaf and he directed me to the bakery/deli section after telling me to also check frozen. I headed first to deli. A nice young woman named Jamiya in the deli, instead of telling me where to look, walked me all over the store including back to the bread guy to get more info on GF. We went to refrig biscuit section w/ no luck, pie crusts section then finally found GF frozen pizza dough. Another employee Kirsten helped join in the search as well. Jamiya even read off some of the ingredients/directions on the packaging bec I could not see very well. Outstanding service! I haven't been treated this well in a very long time. Bravo Harris Teeter! I wanted to do a HT survey but there wasn't one on my receipt. This is my new go to store. Has it's gas station at bottom of parking lot- very convenient.”
