I'm madly in love with this place! I already have two of their knomes. The Resident artist or owner actually made one to order for me. I'm coming back for one for my third house. I'm convinced they provide calm karma to their space. Karen Knight

A favorite stop when we have out of town guests. The store has offerings from several upscale crafters in a variety of mediums. There are usually two or three crafters working in the lobby. Upstairs a small museum with unique pieces.

I guess I thought it was going to be a larger place with a lot more options. Little disappointed.

Appalachia craft center is one of the places we visit every time we come to Asheville. The pottery is unique and beautiful and still utilitarian. Located on Spruce Street is a blessing in that it is away from the busiest parts of downtown.

Such a cool store! We had parked nearby and decided to pop in and are so glad we did! We loved meeting Judi and really appreciated her help.

I am so happy we went in here. I wasn't sure what to expect - I was thinking more semi-museum, part info center with a few pieces from local artists for sale. But, it was packed with unique, locally made art goods (95% Asheville artists, 5% Tennessee/Kentucky they say) that were awesome AND affordable.Pottery, wood carvings, textiles, Christmas ornaments, cookware, glass art, paintings, and more. I liked most everything I saw, and again, it was artistry that wouldn't break your bank. The customer service was so friendly, and the nice lady working really wanted to connect with us, and also tell more about the artists who made some of the different art. Informative, funny, kind - she was great.I would recommend this to EVERY Asheville tourist looking for something unique to take home, rather than junky trinkets made in China that you can find in every American gift shop.
