“Each time is a wonderful service. Thank you!!! Great doctors here. Great diagnostic on the spot each time. No guessing games. They do not play games to get your money like all other hospitals and vet clinics.”

“Place is small but clean & decent. The receptionist or assistant was very nice to me and my ?. Veterinarian was really friendly, engaged, pleasant, and informative. Price was normal, not as costly as others I have been too. I would go there again, hands down. ?”

“After 20 years living on Staten Island, I've finally found my vet. There not associated with a big conglomerate; they're independent and the doctor and staff go the extra mile. Altho I live two blocks from a vet, this is where I go now.”

“We started seeing Dr. D and his team in 2002. My puppy at the time had asthma; for the first few months of her life, other vets told us they did not know what was wrong with her, even after spending thousands of dollars. But after just one time of visiting Dr. D and getting the correct diagnosis, my baby girl lived to be 19 years old. We continue seeing him now. He is great and really knows what he is doing. Great service. Would give more than five stars!”

“These people are passionate about pets. Very reasonable prices. The waiting room is very crowded because of the popularity of this place. Another vet was going to charge me over 1000 dollars more for the same care to my pets. While there is no parking and there may be a crowd, it is definitely worth it”

“Dr. Maritato Dr. Reccaro and their support staff are Simply the Best! No words can express my appreciation for the care my dogs received over the last 16 years. Especially at the very sad end of Ruby's journey. Dr. Maritato is truly an Angel. Her clear understanding, honest evaluation, guidance and compassion got us through the most unbearable time. I am forever grateful for the endless support and time Dr. Maritato gave my Ruby. I hope she will be around when its time for Rocky to go. Forever grateful.”

“I brought my male Corgi Hutch here to get neutered, since my local vet was booked up with appointments. As somebody who came in as a new customer, I was very happy with how I was treated -- the front desk employees and Veterinarian were very kind. They examined my fur friend then were able to do the neutering operation in a couple days. The pricing was fair too. Hutch is now recovering and doing very well. Thank you Aadobe Pet Hospital for taking good care of my dog.”

“Dr Astarbi was my vet for over 10 years. I had four dogs at one time and he took care of all of them. Of the 4 , two were put to sleep comfortably in my house surrounded by those who loved them. He is very professional, always gave me a call back and a lot of advice over the phone. I had one dog with Addisons disease. He took care of Bella until she passed away at a ripe old age of 15, usually adisonian dogs don’t live that long. She didn’t have many episodes but when she did Dr Astarbi helped her get back on track. I miss my girl Bella and my boy Giacomo so much. I moved to Florida and he sent me my dogs records. I miss him and Steve. I cannot find and caring vets here, what a shame. Dr Asarbi is very down to earth ,funny, personable and honest and always gave me good advice. I would get my dogs teeth cleaned every year with dr astarbi. Not one problem at all. I wish I could find someone here on the same caliber but I cannot. Dr Astarbi is highly recommended, you won’t regret having him as your long term vet. I hope you are going well, trinket and pia say hello!”

“I found Dr Fred after moving to Great Kills. He is the best vet my animals have been to and will be with him for life. Not only are him and his wife a pleasure but they are all about the animals and their true well being. His prices are more than fair for the quality of care you receive. He has saved my pets after seeing a more “well known” vet that drained my bank account without delivering the care expected. I saw this not only as a pet mom but as a former vet tech working in this field for years”

“Best Banfield hospital in the NYC area. We used to go to the Manhattan and Brooklyn one but they NEVER answer the phone and will put you on hold for hours then hang up. It's impossible to get through or get updates on anything about the pet. They're also so busy that they've taken months to process a lab test (they actually lost the sample..). We take our pets here now even though it's a 1.5 hour drive and never had issues with lost samples and can get through to the staff to get any updates when needed. It's also not extremely busy all the time like the other Banfield locations so we can take our time with the vets or front desk to get any questions answered.”

You can tell ahead just really cares. The whole team at Banfield is really great. Thanks for always taking care of my pup!”

“I am a big fan. First visit today - last minute booking as another clinic cancelled on me.Very efficientRight on time for appt - effective schedulingVet is skilled - in fact that was quickest vaccine administered on a young kitty I have seenAnd the exam fee is $45 - not $85 like most other places I’d called/visited on the island. There’s parking right upfrontStaff is niceOffice is tidyIt’s not my usual vet (I usually troop to NJ) but while my vet is on vacation - I have to say I am fully satisfied with service and office and will recommend and patron in the future. Thanks guys ?”

“Had a good experience here, vet was nice and staff was very helpful and kind (especially the brunette woman at the front desk who helped me with a coupon). I didn't feel like I was given much information regarding the issue my cat was having...rather just an expensive treatment plan to treat what was a bit of a mystery rash...turned out a little.hydrocortisone cream from Amazon cured it :) ($12 bucks)”

“Hands down the best especially for bulldogs. We see Dr. Powell and haven't been disappointed. He is very caring, willing to teach and knows a lot about bulldogs. The practice is super responsive and I can even text with pics to get advice and help. Would recommend this practice highly!”

“I have been to Bay Street Animal Hospital 5 times - including 3 emergencies and 2 follow-up visits. I have also been to 4 other vets on Staten Island. This is the best vet practice I have experienced so far because:Check In: The front desk personnel are always cordial, immediately acknowledge my entrance and diligently sign me in or address any questions that I have. I have dealt with 8 receptionists so far. Whether it is during the day or night, I usually wait no more than 10 minutes to see a vet when I show up without an appointment (but this could just be luck).Facility: So clean and sterile looking you could eat off the floor. The facility is brightly lit and the equipment/technology looks modern and well maintained.Vet Assistants: I have dealt with 3 vet assistants, but I only know the name of one - Kayla! All are extremely genial and upbeat, showing lots of empathy to the situation. They ask lots of questions to assess the health situation, take extensive notes and always leave room for me to thoroughly state my observations, concerns and questions. They are very patient with the dog and do their best to put the dog at ease.Vets: I have dealt with the vets Dr. Ashley Aanonsen and Dr. Justine Candrilli – two extremely caring and empathetic people! The vets seem to always prioritize care for the animal’s well-being over making money by trying their best to avoid unnecessary procedures, medications and costs. They always try their best to avoid invasive surgeries/procedures that carry a risk of further injury/death. They spend more than enough time with my pet and I am always given enough time to voice my concerns and questions. I am always asked for my permission before performing any procedure on my pet. So far, all the treatments that I have been given have restored my pet’s health within a week. The visit notes have been very thorough and honest (leaving no information out). Overall, both vets give the impression of knowing-their-stuff, being-on-top-of-their-game and being highly competent!Costs: I feel that the costs are fair and/or low. As of the time of writing this, it’s $150 per visit not counting procedures, medications, tests, etc. which is similar pricing to other vet clinics in this area. If you make an appointment before you go, then the visit is half the price. (I think free pet trimming toe nails is included in the visit price).. I have always been advised on the additional costs before any procedure is done. Once I get the final bill with the medications, I am usually surprised by how low the bill is and I am a cheapskate. Pay with cash or debit if you want to avoid credit card fees.Negatives: Twice I have gone there, only to find out that the hospital is not 24/7 as advertised. Once it was closed at night and another time on a national holiday. So, please check their open and close times on their website or via an Internet search before you go. Also, I have never been able to go in with my pet while he is being treated. In general, I am very critical of most Western doctors and tend not to trust that they care about their patients or are competent. However, my experience at Bay Street Animal Hospital challenges my belief and makes me feel otherwise. Please give this place a chance; I cannot praise it enough!”
