“I love Playland Market! I grab coffee here nearly every morning on my way to work and am always greeted with a smile and kind words from the courteous folks who run this fantastic local establishment. My family regularly stops by as well to pick up sandwiches, treats or other things we need to get us through the week. Playland Market's convenience and friendly atmosphere keep us coming back. It's part of the fabric of the neighborhood.”

“This is a great Trader Joes. The only downside is that it’s always packed but I guess that tells you how good it is. I try to shop at Trader Joe’s whenever I can even though I live an hour away. It’s one of the best grocery stores in the US. The only problem is that sometimes they run out of my favorite items or they stop carrying my favorites.”

“This is not where I do my major shopping. I only go in for 1 or 2 items. The parking lot can be a challenge when it's super busy. Otherwise, I'm in and out in under ten minutes. Sometimes they don't have what I'm looking for, which can make my trip disappointing.”

“Great store. Great variety of items / brands. They seem to stay on trend or ahead of the trends. So many stores get "lost in the sauce," so to speak. Will definitely shop here more often.”

“Amazing little market ? Coffee and donuts in the morning, take out options for lunch or dinner, and fresh fish and produce for making your own at home. It's our go-to grocery stop living downtown.Using the back area with the fireplace for omakase could take this place and Stamford to a whole new level in my book! ?”

“The produce is always fresh and well stocked. There is a great selection of ingredients for making authentic Mexican meals and more. The meat department is a full-fledged butcher shop where your selection will be cut to order. I just tell them what I'm making and they know exactly what I need and how to cut it! Highly recommend”

“Store 0531 till 3 Transaction 49668 01/22/2024 10:26 am Casier: LorenaCompared to the store on 215 Central Park Avenue, Hartsdale, NY....this store is well stocked; however, cluttered, too many boxes in the isles, and the cash register areas are hard to navigate as there is no place for customers to stage their products as they are rang out. Employees seemed preoccupied. Lorena was a pleasent efficient cashier. Parking at this location can be difficult if you have a large vehicle and the parking lot almost always crowed.”

“Lovely little Spanish Bodega. I stop here all the time on my way home from work to grab stuff that I forgot at the store. It has the essentials, but I wouldn't use it for a full grocery run. Good prices, friendly staff.”

“Pete, thank you, thank you, thank you!I see this employee, "Pete", stocking a prepared foods refrigerated case. I say to him, "Excuse me Chef, (Pete is wearing a very stylish chef's hat, in black), what is the best chicken dish you have to offer, and how do I prepare it when I get home". Pete's advice, "Grilled Lemon Garlic Chicken Breast". They are two to a pack. I grab the chicken and a Wegman's chopped Ceazar salad kit and I'm out the door. That's the story; here's my 3-part review-1. Pete is a professional of the highest order and a culinary Rock Star in my book. His appearance and customer service skills are unsurpassed, and his cooking instructions were, (no surprise), SPOT ON!2. I, like most people, am generally averse to change. However, I will be making this Wegman's location my new "EVERYTHING FOOD" store. It's clean, convenient, well stocked with delicious foods and reasonably priced.3. I have consumed countless Grilled Chicken breasts over the course of my adult life... Wegman's creation is far and away the best. The salad kit was among the best salads, bagged or served at a fine restaurant. But to be clear, the Star of this offering was the Grilled Lemon Garlic Chicken Breast; tender, juicy and marinated to perfection. Bona petit!Update: since originally posting this review, I have had this chicken dish at least 15 more times and have shared it with friends and family. Everyone is of the same opinion; this chicken dish is a WINNER!”

“I couldn't live without John's ravioli and other pasta dishes. John's really is the absolute best - goodness knows I've eaten pasta from many purveyors and even in Italy - but it's John's, always John's, and I hope that The Italian Store in Arlington will continue to carry the brand.”

“my favorite natural food market on Long Island. Rose makes the most delicious carrot cake that my family requests for birthday celebrations every year. Fresh juices, a healthy deli selection, and access to holistic supplements has kept my family shopping here for almost two decades.”

“This green grocer is known by most patrons as Viva Grande Farms. It's the place where people who use fresh fruits and vegetables can keep their kitchens stocked without going broke. People of all ages, income levels and ethnicity shop at Viva Grande. The owners are Korean and almost all of the staff are from Mexico or Guatemala. Listening to the Korean managers speaking Spanish on the store's public address system is one of the high points of my week. Prices range from reasonable to incredibly cheap. I have yet to see any items at Viva Grande cost more than at the mainstay supermarkets in southern Westchester. Grocers like Stew Leonard's in Yonkers, Fairway in Pelham Manor, Stop & Shop in Mount Vernon and New Rochelle, and Shop Rite in New Rochelle charge considerably more for fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk and other staples. There are four distinct shopping areas of this store: -- The outdoor market is where inventory changes daily based on what's truly ripe and ready to sell at rock-bottom prices. Some of the prices outdoors are identical to inventory inside the main market, but many of the items are only sold outside. These include multiple varieties of New York State apples (99 cents a pound) and local carrots (50 cents a pound). Other recent deals have included strawberries for $1.49 a quart, small navel oranges for 20 cents each, and green seedless grapes; orange, red and yellow bell peppers for 99 cents a pound, and cantaloupe for $1.99. All outdoor merchandise must be purchased at the outdoor cash registers. The store takes cash and checks; no credit cards. -- MoMo flower shop is a basic florist in a separate building in the parking lot along Centre Avenue. They take cash and credit cards. It's not as well stocked as Sutton Florists, at 296 Huguenot Street, but prices are lower and hours are longer. -- Inside Viva Grande is an exceptionally deep inventory of fruits and vegetables, many Mexican foodstuffs, a much smaller amount of Korean items, dairy and breads. We always consider lemons as a telling sign of price. They rarely go higher than 3 for $1 and sometimes sell for as low as a dime. Compared with stores like Gristedes, where lemons routinely sell for 89 cents, we'll stick with Viva Grande. This week we bought giant fresh navel oranges for 50 cents each, Fuji apples for $1.49 a pound. a 10-pound bag of potatoes for $1.99, eggs for $1.49 a dozen, baby carrots for $1.49 a bag, romaine lettuce for 99 cents, a bag of clementines for $3.99, and four heads of garlic for $1. -- Indoor meat/cheese market and deli. We don't eat meat in our household, and we buy most of our cheese on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. But we have purchased chicken and cheese at Viva Grande in the past. The quality was good and the prices were lower than other grocery stores. We're dedicated fans of Viva Grande and highly recommend shopping there. --”

“Love the butcher counter here! Great selection and I always get excellent friendly service. Somehow I get better, faster service here even when there’s five other people at the counter than I do at Stop and Shop when there’s like no one there. Good produce section too and reasonable prices.”
