“While I've never been there, I've only interacted with the store via their website and email, I have to say it is one of the best bookstores I've encountered. They are so friendly and helpful and were able to ship my daughter a book signed and personalized by the author. Thanks for a great experience.”

“Although I m trying to wean myself away from buying books, since I recently acquired a library card, when I do buy one, it is always through Transom. I am a strong believer in supporting local businesses and this particular business is owned and staffed by thoughtful, helpful, knowledgable people. I love that I have an electronic connection with them; I always pay when I order and just wait for their email message.Go Transom!!”

“Fantastic find based on a friend’s suggestion. Huge selection of foods including Irish sausages and rashers, Tayto….the works. One thing missing however is the Calcutta Cup for 4 years running ?”

“Such an adorable bookshop full of used books across fiction, non-fiction, health, plays, and more. Even has an assortment of jewelry (I got a watermelon hair clip and a book), fun home decor items and more. Has a very calming, quaint, new agey vibe about it with a bean bag chair to stay a while and read. The owner’s mom was working the register while her son was away and gave great info on the books and the background of the store, which has been in business for almost two years. Will totally come back and buy some more.5 stars!!!”

“This is such a great bookstore. Laura, the owner, really cares and if they don’t have it in she’ll get it for you asap. And there are two cute bunnies so that’s just a bonus! Also, they also make their own themed slime!!”

“Bronx River Books is a great independent store. Going there is always a pleasant experience. The owners are welcoming and add the personal touch that only indie bookstores have. You will almost always find what you are looking for; if you don't, there is no need to worry. They happily order it for you. Highly recommend this store.”

“The main reason I drive from Jersey to Nyack is to visit one of my very favorite record stores in the country - Main Street Beat. It’s cute as heck. It feels good in there and Jennifer, Amy and Ryan are just the best. I always have a great time in there, the selection is an adventure - you never know what you’re going to find and best of all, I always walk out happier than when I walked in, with gems in my bag. Records, cds, lapel pins, books. I get it all! ?☺️?”

“What a wonderful little bookstore / addition to the black cow coffee shop. One stop shopping, if you will. This shop has a really nice selection of books from the most popular, to children's books and beyond. I was not here to necessarily shop for books (this day) but will keep them in mind when I'm in the area again. Great addition to this small town!”

“Every book that I think — oh, I should buy that for my child/partner/neighbor/friend — I see it the next time I’m at Picture Book. Expertly curated, ever-changing, always relevant and unexpected. A great local bookshop.”

“Went in for a quick Starbucks coffee but ended lingering to look at all the books games magazines B&N offers. Astounding number of choices. Staff helpful with my questions. The Starbucks is standard & dependable with cheerful baristas & plenty of tables.”

“I use a lot of journals and I’ve been buying every type of journal from Amazon since 2018. These are the #1 journals in all Amazon. Best quality and price by FAR. I would love to send the company an email just to say thanks but couldn’t find a contact.”

“If you love that very particular quaint, used book store kind of chaos/charm, this is the place for you. You know you’re in the right place when you can’t see the proprietor for the giant stack of books, and then he sort of pops up and says hello. Take someone here on your first date and gauge their reaction to it, so you’ll know if they’re right for you. Is it a safety hazard? Maybe. I personally adore a little danger when I’m looking for very specific out-of-print children’s literature. Live a little! I can’t wait to visit again, and I’m not just saying that because the owner acknowledged my cute baby.”
