My dog Whiskey isn’t the easiest and they roll out the red carpet for her….I don’t trust just anyone with my dogs and I can with out a doubt say that I 100% trust Pooches with Whiskey. Knowing I have a place to take her whenever I need and that they go out of their way to accommodate my last minute requests and that she has fun is just a relief. I would recommend Pooches 1000 times over for any of your dog needs :)

48-18 Vernon Blvd, Long Island CityWe've only come in here a few times for vaccinations and wellness checks, but the staff here are so friendly, and my dog is always super happy to come in, since he knows he'll get lots of pets and treats :) Doctors are very thorough and knowledgeable and I don't feel like they try to push you to do any unnecessary services. I'm happy we have a good neighborhood vet thats reliable and trustworthy.

10-28 46th Ave, Long Island CityGreat spot in the neighborhood to get a beer and entertainment. 5th really tries to give a visitor great value with live music and trivia nights. Their beer selection is nice and there is usually a food pop up when you get hungry. Dogs are a common visitor so if you don’t like them or are allergic you may want to make sure you find a seat away from our fury pals. It’s one of my favorite places in the area to hang out and witness some pretty good jazz and meet up with friends. LIC is a bit more modern and might be low on the history and charm of many neighborhoods in the city but 5th does a really great job of starting the area’s own vibe and identity.

10-39 47th Rd, Long Island CityAmbiance (5/5): There's plenty of seating inside with a window to watch the staff make their noodles from scratch! The décor reminds me of the classic street food in Asia. Service (5/5): Their chopsticks are unique with disposable front ends for sanitary reasons! The service was prompt and staff was courteous. Wonton in Chili Oil (5/5): Very flavorful and the chili oil was a nice addition. It's not super spicy! Braised Beef Noodle Soup (4/5): The beef chunks were generous in portion but I wished that they had more flavor infused in them. The broth was flavorful and rich with meat flavors--it tasted very authentic to Taiwanese flavors. I liked the thickness and chewiness of their noodles. The table chili sauce was a must-have to elevate the bowl.

The team helped me coordinate everything excellently, and the communication was very strong. The assistance they provided on the day of allowed for a smooth flow of the event. My group was seated in a private space and didn't feel interrupted by other restaurant attendees. The food was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the steak and fries meal. The waiters and managerial staff constantly checked in with me to ensure my group was satisfied with the evening. Admittedly, this restaurant may be pricier than others, but I believe it's worth the price. If you can, check this place out!
Parking: The location I visited was city adjacent so there was pretty much no parking and the restaurant does not have a parking lot. Most guests paid for parking at a parking garage nearby.

So I get down the street and there’s ice cream dripping from the cone onto my clothes and shoes and it’s a hassle. I will say the flavors are good and not too sweet. I have yet to try one with any of the additional toppings.

Sweetleaf Coffee & Cocktail Bar
4615 Center Blvd, Long Island CitySweetleaf is a really nice little cozy spot in LIC. Seems like it would be a good spot to go with some friends if some of you want to have a cocktail, but others don’t.
The latte I had (maple leaf latte) was a very nice flavor and just the right sweetness. Highly recommend stopping in and checking this place out if you are in the area.
