Brooklyn tails pet food
760 Washington Ave, BrooklynThis place is THE BEST. Johnny is so knowledgeable and kind and INVESTED in putting your pet on a healthy track to live a long life. Most pet food is filled with garbage- and it’s so expensive to boot. Everything is reasonably priced here and I’m so grateful for it. Support small businesses- especially when gems like this one is right in your neighborhood!!!

Trixie's Pet Food, Supplies and Accessories
575 Flatbush Ave, BrooklynRecently, my cat stopped eating anything at all and, despite vets finding nothing wrong, he was growing increasingly lethargic, scared, and rapidly losing weight. Even an appetite inducer did nothing to help. After 9 days of eating nothing, including his favorite treats, the owner here recommended a food brand that has now become the only thing I've been able to get him to eat. He is slowly eating more every day and is almost completely back to his old self. I can quite literally say that this store may have saved my cat's life, and I'm eternally grateful.

The product selection is top-notch – products are natural, chemical-free and organic. When you shop for your pet here, you can be assured that they will get the best stuff on the market. Everyone is very friendly. Margo - the owner - is also extremely knowledgeable about every product and company that produces it. Pet Delight
756 3rd Ave, BrooklynGreat selection of pet food, reasonable prices. The guy who is usually cashiering is really nice and sometimes gives me free dog treats. Never heard the owner have a conservative rant near me but that's neither here nor there atp because they are the closest and most reasonably priced place to get my dogs food. For the people who say they got expired pet food--do you not check the label when you buy something at the store? I guarantee petco et al are slow at shelf rotation sometimes. That's on you.

DIGS Canine Hotel Spa & Daycare
238 Water St, BrooklynThe only two places my dog will literally drag me to are the dog park and DIGS, and that’s 100% because of the people that work there. If I won the Powerball, I’d give everyone there at least $50k each. I’ve been taking her semi-frequently over the last year for daycare/boarding/grooming, and it’s clear in every interaction that each employee genuinely cares for the dogs and prioritizes their wellbeing. The peace of mind you get knowing that your dog is being taken care of by a team passionate, competent professionals is worth every single cent. She is great with our little guy, caring, experienced, has a keen understanding of dogs, and is meticulous in her grooming. We never have to give her direction, whatever she does is always just right. We've only occasionally had to go elsewhere due to scheduling conflict but we're always disappointed in the care and cuts we've gotten anywhere else. We highly recommend Sonia as the best groomer in town.

Q Cute Doggie House Inc
6704 11th Ave, BrooklynPricing was $85 plus tip, cash only, pricing is according to weight and difficulty. I just needed my dog to have a trim and a bath so he can have a longer coat for the winter. They had a long waitlist of dogs this day but took care of my dog relatively well despite the pressure. His main trouble areas are around his ears and paws where his hair gets matted and they took care of that pretty well. This place doesn’t brush your dog’s teeth which makes sense, but would be nice.Looking forward to going back!

Greenpoint Veterinary Hospital
111 Nassau Ave, BrooklynThese vets are the best. We started coming here towards the end of our French bulldog’s life, but they definitely saved him more than once and provided medication and guidance on specialists to improve the quality of his remaining days as well. When he passed away (peacefully at home), we had him cremated with them and they provided us with the cutest little paw print keepsake. I saw our vet (Dr. V) on the streets weeks after his passing and she recognized me right away and hugged me for what seemed like forever while I sobbed over our loss.Dr. V and the entire team at Greenpoint Vets are top notch. I Can’t recommend them more.

GoDoG – Dog Walking & Sitting Brooklyn
681 4th Ave, BrooklynFrom Carolina & Gabe:We cannot express enough how much Jason and his team (especially CJ, Steph and Nikko) have made a difference in our lives with Kona. After rescuing Kona in September of 2020, we realized she needed a lot of support on walks due to anxiety and leash reactivity toward other dogs. Kona's trainer, Canine Cohen, recommended GoDog and we never looked back. Jason and his team have been so supportive from the start, and he even partnered with Kona's trainer to ensure we were all on the same page regarding Kona's care. I really believe Jason is one of Kona's favorite humans ever, she just about pees herself from excitement every time he walks through the door. He is attentive to all of Kona's needs and makes sure that she feels safe and comfortable on her walks in our hectic, fast-paced Brooklyn neighborhood. We also placed the highest level of trust in GoDog for overnight stays. On those occasions, Steph would make sure to send us daily updates, letting us know how Kona's day/night went, what parks they visited on walks, and of course some pictures of Koko. After four years of being with GoDog, we are so sad to say goodbye but we are so grateful for the amazing memories made. We know Kona will never forget them. From Kona:Dear GoDog Family,Thank you for making my walks so enjoyable in our hectic Brooklyn neighborhood. I can get nervous around other dogs but I know that everytime I am with you, I will be safe and I don't have to worry about anything. Jason, thanks for being the cool uncle that lets me occasionally stalk pigeons (lol). And thanks for letting me give you 100000 smooches on your entire face when you come over. Not even mom lets me do that :DSteph, thank you for our fun walks and sleepovers, for playing with me, and for the non-stop cuddles.I will miss you all SO much and I can't wait for the day that we meet again. With love,Kona

PAWSIES
928 Flushing Ave, BrooklynAs a first time puppy parent, I’ve always been hesitant to take him anywhere for daycare. Working from home and having a literal ball of fire running around doesn’t help productivity so I figured I’d give Pawsies daycare a try. Boy am I glad I did.The process to get started is so easy and we were greeted immediately by a team of great folks. I love that the team has their own dogs there and pretzel immediately felt at home. It was so exciting getting to see my little buddy have fun on instagram and he came home tired- I didn’t think he was ever capable of being tired! If you’re cautious about trying these folks out- dont be. They’re the real deal

578 5th Ave, BrooklynWish I could give ProspectBark more than 5 stars! They are absolutely the best! Our dog Lola absolutely loves coming here for daycare and overnights. You can tell how much the staff truly cares about all of the dogs that come here. We get the cutest photos and videos throughout the day (they send so many throughout the day, and you can tell how much fun all of the dogs are having) so we never have to wonder how she is doing & they always make us smile. They set up pools for the dogs during the Summer, organize different activities, and make healthy treats for the dogs too. The space is also extremely clean! This is truly such an incredible place and we always trust them to watch our dog Lola - she really has a BLAST here! I can't recommend ProspectBark enough!

Dogboy NYC
362 Furman St, BrooklynRobert is in a class by himself when it comes to training and behavioral issues for dogs. He brings a wealth of knowledge, patience and genuine interest in the dog he is working with. I’ve worked with him twice now for my ball-aggression Frenchie and years later when I added a second dog. He helped me understand and decode what my dogs’ behavior was telling about their mental state and go from there on the behavior. It is truly a holistic approach that works. Highly recommend him and his team.

Forest struggled walking on leash, would pull and lunge, and was hard to manage on walks. We did three sessions and it has completely changed Forest’s behavior. We saw the change immediately within the first session. Dominik gave us the tools, technique, and confidence to transform how Forest walks. Now walks are enjoyable and Forest is waking like a pro! We highly recommend Dominik to anyone looking for a dog trainer.

Kenny The Dog Walker
145 Hicks St, BrooklynKenny is hands down the best! We moved to Brooklyn Heights in July and wanted to make sure we had someone trustworthy and reliable to care for our dog Koda while we’re at work and are so lucky we found Kenny! Kenny is all around a great person and dog walker from checking in on schedule, spending lots of time with Koda, giving us updates and pictures on walk progress and even handling one off requests like turning on lights or last minute walks when needed, he is without a doubt someone I would recommend for anyone who’s dog is like family. Kenny even goes above and beyond, when we were worried about Koda being sick after throwing up, Kenny went out of his way to stop by and make sure he was doing okay when we weren’t home and helped us find the right food to get Koda back to 100% (not to mention saving us $100s in vet fees). Kenny is extremely communicative, trustworthy and all around a great person who treats dogs with love and care! Cannot recommend Kenny enough!

Scottadito Osteria Toscana
788A Union St, BrooklynScottadito is a cozy restaurant with seating in the front and back of the restaurant. If you want a more intimate setting, opt for the front. If you're okay with a bigger room and dont mind some louder background conversation the back is a lovely choice to sit as well. My fiance and I started off complimentary bread and dipping sauce. We followed that up with the katerina salad which comes with a tart dressing and generous amount of cheese. My personal favorite of the night was the tagliatelle with speck and brie... absolutely cheesy, creamy, heaven. The saltiness from the speck balanced out the creaminess from the pasta sauce. The noodles were thin and almost reminded me of egg noodles. Definitely a one of a kind tagliatelle. My fiance ordered the penne with spicy vodka sauce and spicy sausage. The sausage was broken up into nice chunks and definitely came with a kick. The portions were generous and we left the restaurant stuffed. Scottadito also offers small backyard seating, which I can see it opening up to perhaps a micro wedding for the fall/summer. Will definitely be back for more pasta and to try more dishes. Yum!
