I can’t thank Barbara enough! My 8yr old competitive gymnast has been training with Barbara for 7 weeks now and has made her transition into upgrade season seamless. She is nailing new skill after new skill. I am writing this review from her gym because my daughter is glowing with pride and confidence after nailing her first standing back tuck. Barbara has customized her training to suit her strengths and weaknesses all while keeping an 8yr old engaged and excited. Looking forward to this new season and so glad Barbara is apart of it. Don’t think twice, sign your athlete up.

Train for the game is a fantastic personal training experience to keep you motivated. Individually curated workouts that change periodically, focus on strength as well as flexibility, in a positive environment. Definitely highly recommended. Been going for a year now with continued results.

Train for the Game is where I gained strength, lost weight, and changed my lifestyle since 2010.Barbara and her team’s semi private group training sessions are available at flexible times. They also offers many high intensity 30 minute sessions .This flexibility and support has helped me maintain my 30 pound weight loss that I lost since coming to train for the game .During the pandemic, Barbara and her team at train for the game kept me committed to my training and personal weight loss goals. Barbara’s quick switch to online classes have kept me motivated ! They are live and they’re personalized.

I was an athlete most of my life so I knew the benefits of customized workouts and a healthy diet. I first signed up for the Metabolic Fat Burning classes then small group strength training and, ultimately, one on one personal training. The accountability of knowing someone is expecting me at the gym has kept me consistent with my workouts. I feel and look better than I have in 20+ years. I am stronger, healthier, sleep better, and have even more energy than before. My family and close friends tell me that I’m addicted to the gym and people who don’t see me regularly always comment on how ‘great’ I look.Aside from having to work or being ill (which is very rare), nothing stops me from making it to my workouts. TFTG is not your stereotypical ‘gym’. It is a family! Barbara is genuinely concerned about the success that her clients achieve, she listens to their needs and customizes their workouts to help them attain their health & wellness goals. I highly recommend Barbara and Train for the Game!!

Barbara and her staff are educated and attentive to ensure safety and physical progress. The environment creates supportive small group approach that makes me want to go work out. Not a big box gym!

Rebecca started training with Barbara at Train for the Game in 2017 with other members of her travel softball team. When she started, she was a light hitter with a good glove who could pitch a few innings on the mound. But she was constantly encountering setbacks due to small injuries. Once Barbara introduced her to strength training and various forms of cardio, Rebecca’s strength and endurance increased tremendously and the injuries disappeared. Through consistent training, she has transformed into an All-Conference player. Rebecca is now a trusted starting pitcher and one of the top hitters on her teams. Barbara’s training also showed Rebecca the value of hard work and instilled in her the importance that fitness can play in her life.

Over the last 7 years I have felt my body slowly deteriorate. I never struggled with my weight, but often knew I wasn’t eating as healthy as I should, and with two young boys needed all the stamina I could muster. In 2016, after enduring 18 rounds of chemotherapy and taking medication that suppressed my immune system and my energy, I felt like I was incomplete as a person. I didn’t recognize myself both physically and mentally. I tried many diets and exercise programs, but nothing seemed to stick, and I got discouraged when I didn’t see the results I was looking for.In October I saw an add for Train For The Game. Barbara was running an essay contest offering 6 weeks of personal training. I don’t know what made me write that essay that day, but I’m so glad I did! TFTG has completely changed my life. I turned 50 this year and have never felt stronger or more energetic. I can run up the steps to the LIRR platform now without gasping for air. TFTG gave me personalized exercises tailored to my needs and Barbara taught me how to have a healthy relationship with food. I’m eating more than I ever have and have lost 18 pounds and 4 dress sizes! Those inches lost are more motivating than the scale! I couldn’t recommend TFTG more highly. I don’t like large busy gyms where I feel lost. TFTG has wonderful members with personalized attention. I am so grateful. Barbara and TFTG have allowed me to reclaim control of my life.

Barbara is the owner, but she also trains. She is a dedicated, passionate and professional trainer. She’s a very well informed trainer. She knows how to target specific areas that you may want to work on. My son has been training with Barbara for a little over a year. He has become a better player and his confidence level has improved! We are so happy we were recommended training for the game!

Train for the Game is the best, most hands on personal workouts I’ve ever had. It is a very clean area to work out and each workout is specifically formulized for your individual goals. In just a short period of time I can already feel myself getting stronger and faster which makes every workout at Train for the Game worthwhile. Barbara is dedicated to helping you reach your goals and truly wants to see you succeed. Barbara is very knowledgeable and takes the time to pinpoint the areas you need to work on. I wish I had gone to her years ago, this is the best training experience I have ever had. I would recommend this place to everyone, this is the place to be!!

I luv TRAIN FOR THE GAME!! Its not just a place to workout..it teaches you about your body and what it can do without injuring yourself. It's a place for all ages and body types...Barbara is amazing! My son Dylan has been training with Barbara for over a month now and we already see unbelievable progress. When starting the program my son had very tight hamstrings and muscles and his core needed strengthening. Barbara has formulated a program that specifically targets my son's individual needs and he has shown great improvment in his strength and movement. He plays basketball and is more agile on the court, doesn't tire as easily, and has improved his footwork. I highly recommend this program to any parent looking to improve their child's game through proper muscle development as well as improving their child's overall physical health.
