“Ms diorra is a very pleasant and honest woman. I did not have the pleasure of shopping there but I lost my wallet while on vacation and she went above and beyond to make sure I got it back. I would give 10 stars if I could”

“My sisters and I thrift all over the city, and this is one of the very best places. Very well organized, fair prices, and some wonderful unexpected finds - on top of which Tanya, the owner, is the bomb.”

“A fun experience and probably the best vintage market in New York. Yes 70% is overpriced but that’s just New York. Some sellers are very cool people and know their niche. It’s an amazing way to spend your Sunday and sellers accept Venmo or card. Also, it’s great it’s year round to enjoy. I came looking for vintage fur coat and found the one! Can be quite overwhelming the first time as it’s so much to look at. My advice is to not buy the first thing you see and shop the whole market or more and think about it and come back to it as you might find what you want at a better deal or style. Apparently the sellers stall fees proceeds goes to the school that holds the indoor portion of the market which is awesome.Honestly could be a bit “grander” for a full day of exploring a lá rose bowl in LA.”

“I have been consigning with Designer Revival from its original inception over 30 years ago. They do a fantastic job for me. Their advice on pricing is extremely accurate, though they are very willing to accept my input when I have a different view. The helpful consideration of Tiffany and her staff makes the entire process a pleasure. A few times over the years, I have tried another consignment shop, but I’ve never found a better sales partner than Designer Revival. Nancy”

“Shopping here is like shopping on Rodeo Drive. The prices of their designer clothes can’t be beat. All items are in excellent condition and curated by type. I’ve gotten Chanel, St.John and Hermes designers at at half of what I would have to spend on 5th Avenue.”

“Its one of the best stores. Neat, clean with all steamed clothes organized so well.
The Quality of the stuff here is amazing. From clothing to shoes , hangbags to scarves and jewelry , all are really good.

“Love this place. Lots of super-cheap clothes. My advice on how to shop is to make three or four rounds just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Friendly staff, good vibes here. Also, I thought it worth adding that I've been to plenty of bigger, chain resale shops in NY and NJ like Unique, 2nd Ave Thrift, and this place is better. It's clean, rotates stock, and is far more pleasant.”

“Amazing finds and incredible folks who make you feel like you’re old neighbors catching up even when you’ve just met! I mostly shop there in person but sometimes will find a gem on their IG stories. They carry beautiful jewelry from local artists as well.”

“For secondhand clothing, the UWS is replete with stellar options {Housing Works on W 74th, Housing Works on W 96th, Unique Boutique on W 83rd, St Francis Thrift Store on W 96th = all excellent options}. UES has great thrift options too: Unique Boutique on E 94th, Housing Works on E 90th, Goodwill NYNJ on E 88th, & there’s another one in East Harlem}. Once you step in and see how current and high quality the pieces they have are, and for such bargain prices (plenty of great pieces between $5 - $20), you’ll basically never shop new again. It’ll change the way you shop in nyc.Housing Works on 74th & Columbus —this one in particular has some terrific designer fashion finds; it also has a very cool home-wear section and some collectible pieces that are sold off on an auction basis. It’s very very cool. You can find some really stellar finds at excellent prices at both of the Unique Boutiques on UWS and UES.”

“I love this place! This is my favorite secret thrift spot in the UES. They have amazing prices for top designers, and anything you’ll find is top quality. The employees are attentive and help set up a fitting room for you if/when needed. All three items I’d bought still had tags as well.”

“I am so grateful for Matiell Consignment! It’s a really cute boutique-style consignment shop with designer clothes and accessories. The owner is so helpful and sweet, and really treats customers as family. I have been lucky enough to consign a few items here- the prices are fair and honest, and items sell quickly because the owner is so personable. Many of the UES locals know and love her. I will absolutely shop and consign with Eva again!”

“I have been going to this place for a very long time and there have been a lot of good managers who have come and gone but the current one David is one of the nicest I have ever met. He is a professional at what he does. He is a hard worker, he treats the staff nicely and his customer service is impeccable. Thank you David for making shopping at Thriftland a more pleasant experience. The store is one of the best thrift stores in the Bronx. It’s clean and has better quality goods and the staff are friendly as well.”

“PROS: this place was very nice. Historically a train station that was renovated into a shop. The staff was nice, prices were amazing, variety of items plentiful, everything was organized, and the items were good quality. There was even loads of parking CONS: the place wasn't all that big which caused congestion inside. OVERALL: I will definitely come back here as this is an amazing place to go thrifting”

“Hollywood Heros has two things going for it. 1) An amazing, incredible selection of toys, new and vintage. 2) The nicest owners possible. My 12 y.o. son is a huge Star Wars collector, and he discovered HH on Yelp about. year ago. We've gone maybe a dozen times now even though it's an hour round trip. We often find rare and impossible to get items here and if it's not on the shelves, it's probably in their basement, so just ask. We became friendly with Jordan and Val on our trips there, and Jordan has been especially gracious. He always has time to talk, answer questions, and be friendly. Even when we come to just window shop, we still have great talks. Recently my son was looking for an ARC-170 gunship, and Jordan and Val had just gotten one in that had missing parts, and they gave it to my son as a thank you for being a loyal customer. It made my son's month. The store is a block from the central shopping district, so when we go we get bagels or Korean chicken and make a day out of it, or go the few blocks to Trader Joes. I know a Trader Joes isn't a selling point for a store specifically, but as a parent of someone who loves shopping here it's nice to have a cute town that can be part of the experience.”

“I was looking forward to visiting Gentlemen’s Resale as it seems to be the only male-focused luxury consignment shop in NYC. The store has a variety of a selection mostly consisting of jackets and bottoms. There are also dressing rooms and disposable socks provided (the store encourages you to be satisfied before your purchase as there are zero returns). Unfortunately the store seems to lack a few other types of accessory items such as sunglasses, hats, jewelry etc. But that was just my observation. I purchased a Moncler blazer and a pair of Ferragamo shoes (both pictured) that were both sold at a discount. There is a wide range of pricing — pants as cheap at $25 and jackets as expensive as $3,000. Considering the high quality of the store and the purchase I was making, I was truthfully expecting the sales associate present to be more welcoming. He seemed as if he couldn’t he bothered with some of my inquires. Despite that, the store is gorgeous and I’m glad I made the purchases I did. Very satisfied with my visit and definitely will be back!”

“I go out of my way to bring my items to Housing Works. Every time I've gone I have also checked around; there is always something interesting. A warm place, sometimes with a long line, seems more upscale than similar companies. Great mission.”

“Excellent prices, service and selection of clothes, jewelry and handbags, plus so much more! Shoes, appliances, decor and accessories, absolutely everything you need. my favorite thrift/consignment store!”

“A magical place! What makes this place so unique, is that it is rather chaotic, (in the same way that one of those "I spy" books you might have read as a child were). It isn't the best as far as organization haha, and yes everything is just piled in boxes, but it makes it all the more fun. I personally scored some really unique, authentic military uniforms from this place, as well as a huge selection of other random pieces. Their prices are not the cheapest, but that's okay, cuz when you find that super unique Joe Camel, windbreaker that your uncle had 40 years ago, for $15, it's well worth it. To all those saying it smells like cigarettes, grow up lmao”

“I have to laugh -- a “reviewer” named Eva Melin-Gompper below billed herself as “an antique expert” – which means she’s 100 years old; but what she meant to say is that she’s an “antiques” expert. However, if she was, she would realize Olde Good Things are not overpriced at all, as she claims. As a matter of fact, as salvagers you can say some of their pieces are flawed, but their prices are very reasonable. Check 1st Dibs and Charish, or any of the auction houses, to know what “overpriced” really means. Here you get what you get, and since you never know what that might be, the stores are fantastic for the thrill of the hunt, which is what antiquing is all about. Olde Good Things salvages materials from buildings being demolished or refurbished, including hotels, office buildings, etc., as well as creates new items out of reclaimed metals, woods, and other materials. This is a place where many truly unique finds are to be had. They have a spectacular array of lighting and fixtures, if only I had high ceilings. They also carry endless amounts of hardware, including doorknobs, and I bought vintage art deco glass ones here years ago. I bought five pieces of furniture from the two stores in Manhattan to reorganize my apartment during the past two years, and I am thrilled with all of them. They have imperfections and they weren’t cheap, but this isn’t a thrift store; it’s an antiques and salvage dealer. The stores on West 52 Street and upper Broadway are two of my favorite places to hunt, and even though I now have no more room for anything, I’ll still be looking!”
