“Monday, 1/29/24, was an extremely difficult day for our family. We made the decision to have our sweet Reilly (half black Lab & half Bernese Mountain Dog) compassionately euthanized. She was suffering from inoperable cancer & her decline was swift. Although that decision is always heartbreaking, Reilly deserved to leave knowing we loved her beyond description & to leave with dignity & to have a peaceful transition. Furry Friends is a Godsend. The receptionist, the vets, the assistants are angels on earth. Their job is not easy, but they take every member of the family into consideration. This is the second time we counted on on Furry Friends. They explain the process. They do not rush you. They are so kind. We wish Reilly & all our pups could live long, healthy, fun lives. “It's the holidays, and we've been reflecting on how thankful we are for the care and support the team at Allenwood give our pup. In the last couple years they were able to spot a major problem with bloodwork, which led to discovery of a tumor on her pancreas. Now removed (thanks to specialists at Garden State Vet), and with careful monitoring, she is doing great. We've relied on Allenwood's team for her regular care and advice as medication became complicated and her response to it not always easy to manage. They stay in touch with her oncologist for check-up results, which is amazing. And we've taken advantage of their Care Club - well worth it. Thank You Dr. Murillo, Dr Capodanno, and Dr LaPaglia and the support team that spend so much careful attention to our furry family members.”

The doctors are incredible however the front desk staff has some of the worst attitudes. It’s such a turn off to spend hundreds, probably thousands of dollars at this point and have miserable people at the front desk. Thanks for taking the time to read. “Hands down, the most loving and attentive Vet we have ever been to. We have had many dogs over the years and different Vets before coming to Barnside and truly, Barnside is the gold standard. Dr Sharin couldn't be any more connected to her furry patients. Her staff all love animals as well! The inside of Barnside is just so quaint and relaxing. Welcoming to animals of course but a great little toy space for children too! There are habitats with Gerbils in them, and a hanging bird cage with adorable colorful chirping birds, and what looks like possibly a giant fish tank-in-the-making as well. You may find offices which charge less but the emphasis on prevention of illness is a key to my philosophy of animal care. I don't want to "wait" till my dogs need a Vet because treatment for those things often cost WAY more than preventing an illness. Anyway. We currently have 4 Pets that use Barnside. I wouldn't have anyone else take care of my fur babies!”

“Been taking my cat here for several years. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. My cat is almost 12 years old and has some GI issues that unfortunately can get worse in a matter of hours with little warning. With that said, I sometimes need her seen ASAP. Last week being one of those incidents.. I was up all night with zero sleep with a sick cat. Next morning I called and they were able to get me a late afternoon appointment. Staff is helpful and Dr DiLorenzo is so kind, gentle and reassuring. Listens and explains everything to you. Grateful to know I have this wonderful place I know I can rely on to keep my baby healthy and alive!”

Even including spay and neutering that we definitely wanted to take advantage of.The staff and vet we saw were very knowledgeable and very nice.
