“Biggie's is great! The owners are super lovely and run it themselves. Their dog, Biggie, is super cute. Often there's people playing chess outside- it's pretty rad.
Inside is a vintage lovers paradise, or more specifically, a vintage smokers dream. They specialize in refurbishing old lighters, ash trays, and smoking sets. Trust me, they're awesome. If you're not a smoker, they have old magazines, game sets, and old-style soda. If you'd like to become a smoker but are scared, they have candy cigarettes. Sick!
Anyway, I like to pop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. You should pop in, too.”

“Ray is an East Village celebrity. Originally from Iran, Ray jumped overboard a Navy ship to swim away to a new life in the United States. He started the shop in the 70s and has been around ever since. Even when Ray recently sustained an assault, he went right back to work. This institution offers various soft serve, fries, fried Oreos, hotdogs, chili dogs, egg creams, onion rings. Any number of fried foods one might eat after a drunken soirée. Someone commented on his Instagram page, “no one has seen me drunker than this man.” Most things are 7-10 dollars, though there are a few things that are more expensive, like 16 dollars or so. Pretty sure Ray is cash only. Ray still works the spot. He’s about to turn 91. If you want to see him, get on with it. New York changes all the time. One day you might show up, and Ray will be gone. Don’t miss your chance to experience this icon.”

“I loved this candy store. My friend told me to buy my Piñata in Dulcelandia. It was totally worth the trip. Their piñatas are so much fun. The store has so much variety and the customer service is excellent. My friend recommended Dulcelandia to buy a Piñata. It was a good buy. We had the most fun. The Piñata is very good quality. They have a wide variety of sweets. Those who serve are very friendly and attentive. They have a customer forever. 100% recommendable.”

“I don't even like candy but i love this place. Great, higher quality candy. I like that they have a rotation of candy always, and always a great selection: sour, gummy, chocolate, licorice options are always there, no matter which kind is on rotation. Staff is incredibly friendly and well educated on candy. Probably one of the best staff in NYC i've ever experienced. They also let you try certain candies if you are curious which is really nice since they have a lot of unusual candies you can't get in the states. You can tell it's high quality bc even if you have a lot you never feel sick vs if you get like idk a bag of american cvs candy no matter a famous brand i'm sure you'll feel the worst after eating a whole bag. This place is also very community oriented there's always people shopping and enjoying candy outside. And on certain weekdays they do a little hot dog cart outside (worth it, one of best hot dogs i've had and incredibly thoughtfully curated in terms of taste palette and combo) where you can get a hot dog and a beer for like $6 (a bit steep for a hotdog, but for the combo and how good the hot dog is, actually a steal). Great spot.”

“Large candy store advertised as the largest candy retail space in the world.I loved pretty much everything. You have major brands like Reeses, M&Ms, Pez here. But you also have a wall of healthy candy like low sugar gummies. You also have a wall of international snacks like Japanese Pocky and Chamoy candies.One thing is I wish is that the setup would be brighter and a bit more interactive. There are alot of bulk bin candies and some fun displays that promote giving into your guilty indulgence but the dim lights and unused spaces are a bit of a drag.”

My dad always got me and my sister huge chocolate bunny's when we were growing up.She would get the milk chocolate, I would get the white chocolate.Genevieves has become a family tradition. I no longer live in Garfield, but every year I go down there just to get the best chocolate for my my niece and nephews (and of course a little treat for myself ?).”
