“I had gone there the other day to switch over from a bank i’ve been using for 5-7 years to this one. i’ve heard great reviews about oceanfirst. i called and one of the tellers was able to assist me in just the general basics of what i needed to do/what to bring to make this a smooth transition. quick conversation but still very kind and professional. i got there later on in the day & everyone was super friendly. the teller i worked with for the hour was Joseph and he was great. he answered all my questions and was extremely patient. i felt that i was bothering him with all my questions but he was able to help me clearly understand that transitioning process from moving accounts to even different features the bank had to offer. he listened to my concerns and what i wanted from this bank & how i wanted to proceed. i genuinely had a great experience and everyone was personable. i appreciate the great customer service from this bank in addition to the fact that i was able to confidently walk out of that bank knowing that everything was in good hands. hands down, i would recommend anyone going to this bank!!”
“I switched over to this credit union from Bank of America when they were threatening to charge a monthly fee for using our debit cards. It annoyed me so much I decided I'd rather support a smaller, more family oriented banking institution. What I love about this credit union: -personalized service- people already know my name! -very old school- call in and they'll mail you a check -only $5.00 to open an account -my immediate family members can join -low as heck interest rates on car and personal loans -exempt from paying car loan in summer months because I'm in education What's not so convenient: -not as many ATM's available -outdated interent and bill pay services -when checking account online, transactions don't always post immediately I'm going to stick with them for a while and see if I can grow some patience while working on not being just another person who needs everything done for me at lightning speeds.”

“Today was my daughter's last day of school and in a ditch effort to purchase a gift for my her teacher i found myself unable to complete an important purchase because of an issues with ATM card. After several failed attempts to resolve the issues on my own I franticly called the Scotch Plains Location and had the pleasant experience of speaking with the Branch Manager Karina who took her time and a worked diligently with me to resolve the issues. The staff were very professional and took the time Even after banking hour to help me resolve my issues. both Haydee and Avelina were patient and made sure the everything was working. correctly before i left. Having a bank manager Karina tell me that the bank was closed now but advised me to still come in because she would wait for me was something I will never forget. “This is a great banking service to have right on the campus. There is an ATM here but perhaps only for account holders. The fees are reasonable but working hours are limited. As the parent of a student I can vouch for credit unions as providing better services than the major banks and unfortunately are not well known enough due to limited marketing budgets.”
