I was moving the funds from my business account to personal account, and the check deposit was put on hold for no reason now over 12 days.. after about 26 years with this bank last couple of years was really painful.
I can't wait to close to the account once the check is clear and move on.. I'm very disappointed and will never come back.
Review update on 3/2
Received the call from the passaic branch rep. regarding the review and I expressed my frustration and also the damages Valley bank cause due to holding my check for no reason for 16 days, Bank rep told me since now I have his branch number if I call his branch he will resolve any issue. As if nothing serious happened previously, i clearly explained that i lost my money because you holding my check.. you guys need to put yourself in the shoes of the client's shoes or imagine if that money was for payments of your bills.. don't come back to me with a big sigh as if I don't understand the check process and telling me I should've called the bank directly rather than the customer service.. come on, Valley!! you gotta wake up and smell the coffee customers aren't gonna fool for that just for you to get out of the situation. What would you do if this was your personal bank and your bills are due or making a investment which was planned for many months?

Every time I go to this branch there is always a problem with my loan, never paid late yet I get letters stating I haven’t pay my loan, I always have to take my receipts to prove I paid. They are slow and can’t get anything right, I have to back again as I received another letter.I am done with this branch!!!

UPDATE: Talked to Paul. Nice guy. He assured me that they're working on the app. Made the moment right and we discussed the current issues we face as customers.Not great customer service. Called in. They were not helpful and dismissive.

The moment I walked in I was greeted warmly. I needed to use the bathroom and the clerk went above and beyond to walk me to bathroom by having to make the effort of getting the key from superiors. While I used the bathroom they deposited my check for me. I didn’t have to lift a finger. I normally go to a different valley national bank but from now on I will go to this location alone.

I have always had a great experience here. I’m addressed by name and the staff is always so courteous. My go to banker is Hiren Patel, at the branch next to the Allwood Diner. He treats me like a member of the family. I don’t know about the other branches but this one is great.

Terrible experience with this bank. I have a personal account there. They started questioning my transactions and asking where I got money to put into the bank?! They then asked about a cash withdrawal and how I spent the money!! I told them to pay bills and they wanted me to specify which bills I paid! The big banks are out of control with the power they have over hard working people and our American freedoms. If people are concerned with wearing a mask (which is a public health issue) I think they should be aware of the big banks taking away our true freedoms. I would suggest everyone bank with community banks as they don't operate like these huge conglomerates.

I went to this branch to open accounts. With my social security number they told me that I have an old account. I requested to close it. The manger went to a backroom for over an hour and then came back saying they cannot open a new account because my social security number does not match what they have in file. That was contradictory to what she told me earlier that I have an account with the same social security number. This is a clear discrimination against my wife and I since she wears Hijab and I wear a beard because we are Muslims. I reported them to the NJ Department of banking

Valley Bank has a Policy, they don’t cash out their own checks, even the check is from their branch, if you don’t have an account with them.
