“My friend and I stopped in here after enjoying the Afghan kabob house across the street and we were definitely not disappointed.I was incredibly impressed with the quality and selection of meat options. They carry primarily pork and beef. The quality of the beef steaks were incredible. I picked myself up a nice sirloin that I intend to thaw out and cook for myself for my birthday this week.I would recommend that anyone who is considering shopping here do so because I was quite impressed and I have had a few cows raised by family and butchered. These people have some impressive quality. Also, the nice lady who was working on Sunday was very helpful.”

“First time stopping at Baumann’s even though we’ve lived in the area for Years. We decided to stop in on a lazy Saturday Afternoon. The warm welcome by the staff as we entered was a delightful surprise! We mentioned we had never been and the folks behind the counter were genuinely happy to answer any questions and show us around. They even offered hot samples of their famous smoked wings (Amazing! Giant wings-dry rub, slightly spicy but not hot) We couldn’t resist the beef jerky. Run don’t walk to get this jerky. It’s thick, tender, and tastes like a well seasoned steak. We picked up some pickles from a local business while there and some chicken gumbo from the case. Just with that impulsive stop, we are going to be dedicated customers.. friendly folks, honest prices, authentic little shop. The worst part is the access to the parking but don’t miss Baumanns! Happy we stopped!”

“Sorry to my non-meat eating friends. Love y'all. Might want to just jump to the next review. Frandeka's is your one stop butcher right in the heart of Historic Soulard Market. The first time I ever went to Frandeka's I was absolutely blown away by the selection. There were meats and cuts that I've never heard of. No matter what you're looking for, they probably have it. From linked meats like cajun brats to hand crafted lunch meats, you won't have to make multiple stops thanks to Frandeka's. And all the prices are incredibly reasonable as well. The customer service at Frandeka's was also stellar! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They offered suggestions and also guidance on what would work best for the gumbo I was cooking. You can tell that they are accustomed to serving a high volume of traffic as they worked efficiently to help.”

“I had a wonderful experience in store today. I’m no foreigner to Bavarian Cuisine, and so after venturing into this shop I was quite pleased. The selection was fantastic. I haven’t had leberkäse in YEARS and got some today. It’s delectable! Service was top notch. A line formed after me and despite that fact, I still wasn’t rushed as I asked questions and ordered. Thank you for the hospitality! Prost!”
