I wish I could give these lying, con-artists less than one star, because they don't deserve that one. I was paying $80/monthly for a 1Gbps(1 Gig per second) line that only gave me 100Mbps (10% of the Gig) and when I asked them to send a tech out to test the line in front of me to see if they could even serve up HALF of the line speed I was paying for, they flat out refused. This company is fraudulent and ran by punks that hire very friendly CSR's to mitigate the anger of their customers, because they're too gutless to even get on the phone with the people they're ripping off. I would advise all of their customers to run some speed tests on their line and then ask them why you're paying for much higher speeds than what you're most likely receiving.Don't just take my word for it though, it's easy to see these reviews, and the 1.9 out of 5 stars, coming from 740+ people. That's not just bad, it's dismally ridiculous. Choose any ISP but this one.

Optimum is horrible. They bait you with a $200 debit card and conveniently after technical difficulties that their assistance is required to resolve, when you ask about your card, they tell you that during that period of tech issues that your payment was a day late and that disqualified you from the card. This has happened to me and another member of my family. Also your bill is $89.00 a month, paid at the same time each and every month. Then your bill increases for a late fee. No resolution to that and now my bill is $134 monthly, consistently. What isnt consistent is the wifi signal!!!!! Always a different amount of lights lit on modem but its a mystery. No help. No service. Skip this company.

This company is the worst I've dealt with in years. I have tried and tried to get help but they don't. A young man was supposed to come to my home. Won't even return my phone calls after I tried reaching out to him. So I'm sitting with equipment I do not want and have no way to return it. I could go on and on. But it's too much wrong.

I was a costumer for 12 years and I will NEVER go back! The worst company in Saint Joseph by far. Shotty service, rude employees and so many lies about service prices! Avoid at all costs!

No major issues until last week.. several days before Christmas eve internet became increasingly lagging and couldnt load anything. We called and set up an appointment with a lady from some other country, you can never get a # for anyone local. She told us someone would be there the next morning and no one showed up. We called and were informed she never actually made the appointment.Another appointment was scheduled for the 26th, about 4 days after our first call and supposed to have been scheduled appointment. We had Optimum calling us so many times during these 3-4 days asking us the same questions and doing the same things to try and “fix” the problem over and over. On the 26th someone finally arrives and informs is the problem is the line outside and its affecting multiple houses and complexes in the area. Great! and what is even better is the guy casually says it will probably take 3 days to get someone out there with a boom truck to fix the problem! Multiple houses and complexes with no internet connection and they decide to take their sweet time, per usual! We are blessed we dont use our internet for work. Im sure there are some people affected that do! 7+ days with no working internet. I wasnt born before 1990 for a reason and thats because I like being able to pay my internet bill and using the internet. We will be switching to United Fiber after this experience and im sure others affected by this will switch companies also.Edit: what a ridiculous response from this company. obviously we are still having issues, they cant even be bothered to comprehend my complaint correctly. calling United Fiber tomorrow, reading everyone else’s reviews i see how bad this company truly is. Maybe Optimum will go under soon!

3 year loyal customer. Payment taken from my account after it was canceled. I'm still waiting for my refund. I won't be a return customer nor will I recommend this service to anyone else.

After LESS than a month of "service" they have billed me $600. I am set on auto pay so have paperless billing and it is all automatic, yet have been disconnected for non payment of bill. Service started on or about 11-17 and bill was supposedly dated for 12-07. And to top it off, took 2 separate days and about 10 different guys to get it set up. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!

11/27/23 still no resolution to my issues.... They emailed me told me to call their number (which that's their normal course) because they don't give you numbers to call people back and you end up explaining the same issues over and over to multiple representatives just to have them tell you they can't help you or they transfer you and tell you they will call you back which don't happen! This process wastes hours and DAYS of your time! They structure their system this way to bully their customers and is geared to not address customers issues (yet they want full payment for sub par service) my business has suffered as a result of dealing with this company's SHADY business practices! It would be laughable except I'm being charged an excessive amount for this service and they monopolize the market so it's DIFFICULT to find someone else! I am actively looking for a solution to rid myself of this company my issue started in JULY 2023 and still to date is not resolved!!the laughable part is their blatant claims how they have the BEST business support... that's a lie!

I've had optimum for many yrs even before this company took over and I was good with my service till recently my internet has been cutting in and out, then they charged my card twice and was suppose to refund 1 payment and never did ,then raised my bill 15.00 so I would highly find something else other this this company ?????

Was given a "free gift" surround sound device that only works with cable from suddenlink when we signed up for our internet service that we did not want and could not use. They would not take it back because "we had it for more than 30 days" despite being new and unopened and telling them from day 1 that we could not use it and didn't want it. Then we started getting charged for using it despite NEVER USING IT! We called they told us they still could not take it back and to keep it and they would credit us back since we weren't using the product. That was fine for about a year... Then Optimum took over and started charging us for it again. At that point we had already thrown it away because we had no use for it and no one would take it back. Seemed useless to me. After our bill went up every month for 6 months AND paying a recurring charge for that worthless device we NEVER used, we canceled our service with Optimum. Now they want to charge me $500 for a device that the previous company told me to do whatever I wanted with AND I THREW IT AWAY because I couldn't turn it back in. They absolutely could not take it back til I canceled and now they say I owe them $500 for not bringing it back?! What an absolute fn scam. All of the internet providers in that building have been garbage, but Optimum really takes the cake. Employees are nice and it's not their fault that they work for a morally bankrupt company that screws over their entire customer base. Can't wait for them to go out of business though.

Replaced my faulty remote at the local store. The new one didn't work. Called Customer Service. After 55 minutes on the phone, an appointment was scheduled in 3 days. I'll watch 1 channel for 3 days. Unable to call local store, no # listed. .

Internet speeds are so incredibly bad. They advertise 300mbps and up, but it doesn't matter because its only for download speed. Upload speeds are always less than 8mbps, on test I ran was 0.22mbps upload. When I asked about this the rep said his grandmother died and basically abort helping me lol.
