“I recently took my GMC Sierra to my auto shop for some routine maintenance and asked them to troubleshoot what I thought was a transmission issue. They told me my torque convertor was going bad and that due to the age and high mileage on my transmission I would need to replace the convertor and transmission for between $6-$7k. I decided to seek a second opinion and quote from a transmission shop so I stopped in at Loveland's. After describing the issue to the owner he offered to take if for a test drive right then. After about 15 minutes he came back and said he didn't think it was the transmission, but rather the Active Fuel Management system. The AFM is designed to shut 4 cylinders off when possible to conserve fuel and he said he feels like it is malfunctioning. With this information I went online and bought a device that would disable the AFM and it worked and the issue went away. Thank you Loveland's for your expertise and honesty! You saved me a bundle and you have a new customer if I ever need transmission work.”

Before finding Valvoline Express Care on Sunshine, I was on the verge of giving up. My car had been sitting for some time and needed new maintenance to get back on the road, but every mechanic I called either tried to price gouge me or gave ridiculous wait times — we’re talking about hours or even days. Really not good considering my tags needed renewed in less than a week.
The worst part was when one mobile mechanic overcharged me for doing the bare minimum (change a tire, fix dead battery, put gas in tank, clear warning lights) and my car still had issues afterward. Another mechanic wanted to charge me 270.00 to put in lightbulbs.
Frustrated, I decided to try another auto mechanic shop, but this time I called Valvoline Express Care on East Sunshine St and all that changed.
They took my car in immediately, diagnosed the issues fast, and had me back on the road within minutes. No upselling, no BS — just straight-up solid work. Oh, and pricing? Totally fair and no hidden fees. Compared to the pricing of the previous mechanics, it was like night and day.
Beyond the service, the guys there are just good people — Down-to-earth, honest, and genuinely enjoyable to talk to. You can tell they take pride in what they do and actually care about helping people.
Honestly, I would love to invite these guys over to a cookout just to thank them.
That said, believe me when I say this place is a hidden gem in Springfield. if you’re tired of getting jerked around by shady mechanics, you need to give these guys a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
