316 S Main St, IndependenceOur family has been looking for a new groomer for our Shih Zhu furbaby for a while. We had a lovely groomer, but we moved near the Independence area and needed something closer, and I had a good friend recommend Excel Pet Spa for not only an adorable haircut, but good service, as well. They were right! The girls in there were so nice, professional, and had a clean establishment. One of my favorite things about this place is that it is totally open, meaning you can see the groomers working on the furbabes right in front of you. Both of the babies that were being worked on this morning looked so comfortable and happy. My guy was a bit nervous because it was a brand new environment, but I am so happy to say that my boy came back happy, and comfortable. Not only was he done almost two and a half hours before the promised time, he looks so handsome, and he was so happy when he was picked up. We have finally found our new groomer, and Hagrid and his family cannot wait to visit again! Thank you for taking great care of our little guy!

Three Trails Animal Hospital
600 West 23rd St S, IndependenceI highly recommend them, they always answer all of my questions.
We have taken all 5 of our animals to them and they treat them all well.
2 of those animals are German Shepards, the techs and vet aren't skittish around them like I've experienced at other places.
We unfortunately lost one of our dogs to cancer, and opted to end his life here in warmth and comfort with the whole family there. Three trails let us bring in the other animals and stay as long as we needed. They made everything as comfortable as possible, given the situation. 5 stars for Three Trails!

Old Town Veterinary Care
13717 East 39th St S, IndependenceI've always a had good experience anytime I've needed Dr Snyder. And right now, my kitty is in recovery after an attack from another animal. She and her staff have been too kind helping me look after my cat over many days. They have helped to guide me nursing her back to healthy and as always, I learned a lot. Dr Snyder and the staff really care about animals, and they absolutely show that with every visit I've ever had over the years. They are also very informative and very friendly. I recommend Old Town Vet to anyone who ever asks for a vet. She is the BEST! I'm so grateful I found her.

The staff from the beginning have been extremely friendly, they were great with answering questions and getting one of my puppies scheduled for her spay (which was done very well).
Today Annie spent 35 minutes on the phone with me to schedule appointments for 8 of my 9 pets. She never seemed inconvenienced, answered all of my questions, and confirmed everything several times before we got off the phone. Super impressed with the high level of empathy and customer service.

1102 East 23rd St S, IndependenceHonestly, so kind. You can tell by their tone and their attentiveness that they just really care about animals. These ladies went out of their way to make our dog comfortable and to make us feel comfortable with her in their care. There was also a way to set up some type of payments. And it wasn't even that expensive given the 5 Day over night stay our dog had spent there. Also, their facility was extremely clean. 10/10 compared to the other hospitals around town this pick is a no brainer. Thank you!

It’s the kind of place that you come for community and activities like karaoke, trivia, chess with strangers, and old fashioned board games. (It’s a small business, so please at least buy a beverage ?). The staff are wonderful and accommodating. The menu is standard pub fare, but the food and drinks are consistently good. My favorite is the chai latte; spicy and perfect! There’s always a customer here playing one game or another, so come on out and there’s a good chance you’ll be invited to join in.

10819 E US Hwy 40, IndependenceSo, the food is terrific (a buffet for our son’s wedding rehearsal) but what really sets this restaurant above the rest is the staff. \n\nWe had actually made a reservation months ago at a different restaurant nearby. Nineteen days before the rehearsal, that restaurant called to say they had to cancel our reservation due to a conflicting event. Cue full panic mode. \n\nWe called several other Italian restaurants for a backup venue. V’s completely stepped up and made sure to remove any barriers for a PERFECT event - which it was! The owners and their staff could not have been more pleasant or more accommodating. Cue lots of fun.

20220 E Jackson Dr, IndependenceNo wait time on a Sunday around 1:00 pm. The food was delicious and the greeter and wait staff were attentive. There was a mistake of not substituting broccoli for the fries but it was quickly resolved.
The only reason for the 4 stars was the place did not appear open from the outside. There were no cars and the building was dark inside so it was easy to drive off thinking they were closed. Only a small open sign. Luckily I tried the door. It was a Chiefs day with a 3:20 game but it is a sports place with multiple tvs. Perhaps playing up a spot with tvs turned up and cheap appetizers would help business.
I did send back my fork before eating as it was not clean. That is no big problem as the place was clean. Clean bathrooms and bussed tables.
