“My husband bought some dog food from the other K9 because what our dog usually ate, they didn't have any more at that location. We had to end up taking it back because the dog wouldn't eat it. So we brought it here and we were able to exchange it for her regular brand without a lot of hassle. The customer service is always great at both locations.”

“It was our baby Thor's 2nd birthday with us and GP is the area his mommy works at; so we decided to stop by and see if we could find a birthday cake for his special day. Lisa the owner was so pleasing as she explained that her cakes needed to be ordered but she did have cupcakes available. We bought a few of the birthday cupcakes and Thor loved them! We look forward to picking up his cake and being a loyal customer”

“Great place! Bought my vaccinations and dewormer from the K9 Detroit location on Gratiot at 10am 2/3/24 . The nice young lady a formal Veterinarian Technician working there gave my three Pomeranians their shots and properly recorded it on their vaccination records with the next scheduled date as a reminder. It’s like she better than going to the veterinarian to get it done. Professional, kind and gentle. The most affordable alternative three vaccinations that covered 5 different diseases and a box of liquid dewormer (120cc) with the nice young lady administering the vaccinations to two puppies and one adult Pom for only $65 dollars!!! I live in Sterling Heights and there is no pet supply businesses anywhere that offer that unique service. Thank you Detroit K9 Gratiot east side location.”
“My 8yr old pug has been battling skin issues for over 3 years and we explored many options with numerous vets. It was costly and every intervention failed (I can only imagine the damage to his organs it all has done)! Not once did raw diet come up when seeing the vets. I finally got sick and tired and looked into natural remedies and took my pugs health into my own hands. We found many raves about raw food diet, and Hungry Pooch came into our lives last week. We were greeted by Ava and our transition to a raw diet began! In the matter of a week, I have seen more progress than I have in 3 years. His skin has improved drastically! The girls at Hungry Pooch are so knowledgeable and truly care about your furbabies. Tia and Ava have went above and beyond all my expectations. You can either pay for your pets health, or pay for their illness. Im now going to pay for my pugs health and see him thriving in his golden years!”

“Purchased a bag of dog food when I got home and opened it there was a funky odor to the kibble. Brought the item back after discovering the item was expired, the store was incredibly helpful they helped to find a comparable bag of dog food and went above and beyond to make the situation right. Regardless of if it was stocking or issue from their dc they made sure that my pups were ok and got me the food needed for them. I won’t hesitate to come back here”
“I like this location it’s a nice size, has everything you need, knowledgeable team members, and it has a groomer inside! I saw dog training happening, you can adopt kittens! And I believe maybe even a vet! They have fish and a good selection in the aquatic section. They have other small pets you can buy like hamsters and lizards! Really great store!”
“My daughter and I and my wife have taken and bought many fish from the store we run a plant life filtration system versus a carbon filtration but we find that we enjoy the fish from this store they taken have long life spans and they enjoy our fish tanks fairly well one of the things that I've put in our tank is a philodendron and one of my Japanese algae eaters has decided that it is a hammock for him but that's part of what makes him special is his personality”
“So much love for Petco here we had a great experience and my kitties look so adorable and their harnesses. My only critique is that they don’t have enough extra small harnesses for little tiny baby kittens for clicker training, and leash training.”

“I’m not to sure why people are giving this place one star reviews, seeing as though it’s towards the reptiles and the other pets here. From my experience I bought a baby bearded dragon from here almost a month ago, he is happy and thriving. He was sent home to me in a box with air flow on both sides and he was receiving light from the air flow but not directly which is okay bc it might hurt their eyes. Anyway I do witness all animals receiving fresh food and water daily and no animal has looked in distressed. I am almost a regular at this location, I purchase crystals and insects for my baby. The staff is amazing here, they’ll help you with whatever you need! This is the only place I’ll ever be going for insects,crystals and maybe more reptiles… Even if I lived an hour away this will still be the place I go!((( my baby bearded dragon I got from the place as well as the beautiful amethyst unicorn in the background;) ))))”
“Come here regularly for feeder mice, and to just see what they have for reptiles. Staff is very nice and if you’re lucky the tortoise will be out walking around!”

They have a deeper selection than Lou’s for dogs which I appreciate — higher end and niche chews and treats, diapers and belly bands, food toppers, etc. She also hooked me up with some samples to try with my picky eater dog!”
