“It's definitely your old-time general store in its setup continued into the modern day. Love the selection of meats and cheeses, never a disappointment when I want to try out something new or different. They always have specials going on that are hand written on the cooler door behind the counter. Even letting you get a tasting of what they are offering for that day.
If it's your first time checking this place out. There are a couple of printouts for their meats and cheeses, respectively, sitting in pockets on the support pole by the counter. Thumbing through it, you will be amazed at all they offer. Not just local or domestic but regional from around the world.
This is the only place I get my Parmigiano or Parmigiano Reggiano from. You can even see that the wheel they cut it from has the required stippling on the rind so that you know it's authentic.”

“What a great find. I just had the best steak I've ever had, and I have had a lot, being that I travel across North America for business and have eaten in some of the top steak houses in the country. I had a special day to celebrate, and I called them to have a couple of Wagyu NY strips cut to 2" - Ken was happy to help me out and they were amazing. “We order a small bucket of the heat and eat, and a 10lb bucket. It didn't take long for them to come either. They was pack really well and still frozen. Mannnn the heat and heat was so delicious right out the microwave ?. I went through the bucket two or three times, I did not find anything in it but clear water. When I cook them they were so delicious, they were so delicious .... I had to say it again lol. I am getting ready to do my second order for New Year. My husband can't wait. “Our first time here, and everyone was so helpful. We bought a whole Sirloin (8 or 9 steaks) with the Brazilian top cut (8/9 steaks). The butcher sliced everything perfect for us. We also bought pork chops(8 beautiful ones), and 5 lbs Bacon.The cost was so reasonable and their meats were perfect looking. As soon as we got home, my husband cooked up some slices of beef sirloin and the taste was phenomenal! So good, melt in your mouth! First in quality, Flavor. Price!”

“Subhanallah, my husband and I actually came across this store by accident because we were leaving another meat store that had a long line and we didn’t want to wait in the cold. At first we were skeptical. If it’s your first time going it can be confusing. You go in through the big medal door. You just pull it and walk right into a slaughterhouse. It’s definitely cold and loud but overall pretty great. One of the guys walked us through the whole process and took his time advising us on what to get and asking how we wanted each part of the lamb cut. We ended up getting at 37.5lb baby lamb for around $300.”

As a regular shopper at Market Fresh, I always appreciate the consistent quality and variety they offer. The rewards points system is a fantastic perk that makes my visits even more rewarding. I love how easy it is to find everything I need, whether it's from their full fresh deli, hot food selection, or the delicious bakery items.
I especially enjoy browsing the selection of Michigan-made products available along the checkout aisles. However, I do feel they could enhance the shopping experience by adding self-checkout options to make things a bit quicker.
During my most recent visit, I was looking to supplement my sides for our Monday meal. I grabbed their teriyaki salmon, which is always a hit! It paired perfectly with green beans, mac & cheese, and a mouthwatering dinner roll from Mookies Beans and Greens. Everything was absolutely delicious!
Overall, Market Fresh continues to be one of my go-to grocery store. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality food and great service!”

“The best fresh produce in Ferndale. The meat counter simply can't be beat. I dislike the redesign that brought all the prepacked items and that almost forces you to only use the self check out. I don't work there; if I have to check myself out and bag everything I should get a discount! It takes away the friendly faces and personalization of a community market.”
