1000 St Anne St, Detroit“We loved having our ceremony at Ste. Anne's. We had our own priest that we wanted to marry us and they were off the bat very accommodating to that. Yuliana and Norma helped us with all the marriage certificate, readings, and rehearsal stuff. Everything ran so smoothly because of their help! The church itself was a beautiful venue and so many of our guests (even those who are not practicing Catholics) had so many great things to say about the venue and the mass. It was a beautiful marriage celebration and we are so happy that we had it at Ste. Anne's!”
“Beautiful historic church. Please support if you can. Archdiocese should do something to help preserve this church, shame on them. Kept open because of parishioners who love and care about this church and do whatever they can to raise funds. God bless them and St.Albertus.”
“Always beautiful. Lovely people. Fr.Greg and church staff are amazing. Lots of neat things going on by volunteers to help the church. Many things are needed, especially a new roof and stained glass window repairs. Please donate if you can, or just come and worship.”
“Where heaven meets earth! A most beautiful Holy Roman Catholic Church. If you are looking for a Catholic Church that doesn't have a concert band with drums and guitars blasting away during Holy Mass or a bunch of irreverent chatter-box parishioners having social hour before mass begins Assumption Grotto is a Church you will be happy you attended. The Holy reverence before, during and after mass will allow you to pray without distractions; something that is lacking in so many Catholic Churches. There is also a communion rail and kneeling for the reception of our Lord in the Holy Eucharist!I highly recommend Assumption Grotto.”

646 Monroe St, Detroit“Words cannot describe the beauty of all the artwork in this church. The 10am Mass was a lot less attended than I would have thought. Music is heavenly. If there is a church near you with breathtaking artwork, especially if it is old or needs maintenance, consider financially supporting it.”
“I grew up in this church in the early 70's. My family was dirt poor. I had a faithful mother a praying mother a mother who put God 1st! I remember all 8 of us taking turns ringing the bell durning the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. My mom made each of us take up a different type of instrument just so we can play and sing to get bigger donations. We often stood at the Kmart location on Plymouth and Southfield fwy. Need less to say we would always need additional kettles brought out to our site because of people's generosity! I remember camp and girl guards and sunbeams. If it wasn't for these experiences I would be the person I am.”
“Took 40 4th graders here on a field trip. To experience the last stop on the Underground Rail Road. The tour guide was amazing and tailored the tour to my kids age, and interest. It was very affordable and lasted about an hour and a half. No Areas are off limits and the my students sat in the room where slaved sat awaiting a boat ride to Canada to truly be fee. It was something very unique and moving for all of us. I highly recommend.”
“This is my HAPPY place! Couldn't have prayed for a better pastor, first lady, church, congregation. I'm honored to be part of such an amazing family. I've been a member for going on 4 yrs now after going through some hardship in my life, walked in them doors one Sunday morning and my whole life changed. It was such a warm welcoming feeling that I will never forget, like someone rsvp had been saving a seat just for me. I got baptized in August 2017 another awesone unexplainable experience it's like the family I been searching for my whole life. I love it here, I don't know where I'd be if I didn't know God and the power of the Holy Spirit beyond thankful for my church home Pastor Ellis & Lady Tracey she's the best her hugs & prayers are breathtaking ?❤”
“Relevant, organized, welcoming, temperature comfortable, and remote viewing of content optional. Speakers and guest are local and from abroad. Not pressured, come as you are.”
“So grateful to Pastor Ryan P Johnson and Lady Crystal Johnson and the Greater Burnette B C Family. They welcomed our family with open and loving arms. We thank God for the time we had there. Now God has called my husband to Pastor the New MT Moriah Baptist church. We also thank God for Pastor Johnsons guidance through the Holy Spirit to help prepare my husband Pastor Eddie Cooper Jr for this Great work!❤”
“went to school there. it was nice until i chewed gum or gossiped. Had ballet classes. They had the girl scouts. They would take us to camp. I would arrive in a motorcycle or a pickup truck. Remember being hit on the knuckles with a #2 pencil hurt like hell. We played Chinese checkers and sang old school songs like London bridge or old mcdonald. they have vacation bible school”
“This was our first time in Detroit, and on our outing near the downtown area, I saw the church and was mesmerized by its beautiful exterior. So we walked a couple of blocks over and were able to walk in.
IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CHURCH! Very ornate. Fantastic stained glass high along the walls.
It's always great to visit 100+ year old churches. I hope to be able to visit again for a service.”
